Abstract

Pulo Gebang Terminal, the largest bus terminal in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, continues to face challenges in attracting ridership. Despite its modern infrastructure, passenger levels remain relatively low due to concerns about safety, comfort, and competition from private vehicles. This study aims to identify and propose effective strategies to increase ridership through a mixed-use development approach. Using a quantitative descriptive design combined with qualitative insights, the research employed stakeholder interviews, user surveys, direct observations, and secondary data analysis. The SWOT analysis revealed both internal strengths, such as the integration of health and administrative services, and external opportunities, such as the use of multipurpose spaces, alongside critical weaknesses related to security and service quality. Findings indicate that developing multifunctional facilities, including retail, offices, hotels, entertainment venues, and essential public services, can enhance user comfort, improve service quality, and strengthen the terminal’s integration with its surrounding urban environment. The study contributes to the discourse on sustainable transit-oriented development by demonstrating how mixed-use terminal design can increase ridership while optimizing urban land use. The results provide practical recommendations for policymakers and terminal managers in enhancing Pulo Gebang’s role as a key transportation hub and multifunctional urban center.

Abstract

This study analyzes the characteristics and interests of the community in using rural transportation in Purworejo Regency, with a focus on rural transportation. The background of this research is a significant decrease in the number of fleets and passengers in recent years. This decline in interest is caused by several factors including tariff uncertainty, low load factor, increased private vehicle ownership and the emergence of new modes of transportation such as Transjateng BRT. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the factors that affect people's interest in using rural transportation and recommend efforts to increase this interest. This study uses a quantitative approach with primary data collected through questionnaires from 400 respondents. The variables studied include accessibility, safety, tariffs, and service quality The data analysis method used is (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) with SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results of the analysis show that several findings of the Inter-Variable Relationship, namely Accessibility, safety, and tariffs, are proven to have a positive and significant effect on service quality. Accessibility, safety, fares, and service quality directly have a positive and significant effect on public interest in using public transportation. Based on these findings, it is recommended to improve accessibility, safety, reasonable rates, and consistent service quality as the main keys to increase public interest, especially students/students in using rural public transportation. The suggested strategies include schedule adjustments, special fare subsidies for students, integration with the Trans Jateng BRT, as well as periodic monitoring and evaluation involving user participation.

Abstract

In the context of periodic motor vehicle testing, this study investigated the relationship between service quality and officer work discipline on public awareness and compliance. This study is based on the fact that the level of public compliance is still low and there is a difference between operational practices and operational standards at the Motor Vehicle Testing Management Unit (UPPKB) Ujung Menteng, DKI Jakarta. This study uses a quantitative and survey approach. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Partial Least Squares (PLS)-based variants was used to analyze data collected from questionnaires given to 170 service users. The results showed that service quality and work discipline significantly affected public awareness, but neither directly affected compliance. There is evidence that public awareness is a fully mediating factor, or full mediation, that significantly influences compliance and is an indirect pathway to work discipline and quality of service. These results show that service strategies should focus on improving technical procedures and education to raise awareness as the key to improving sustainable compliance

Abstract

The main problems during the development of Cluster Boulevard De Latinos ABC in Bumi Serpong Damai area, Tangerang, were the emergences of new traffic rise and attraction at the access for in and out the Cluster ABC and rush activities around the area of Cluster ABC intersection. The main aim of this research was to conduct analyses of traffic performance modelling in the peak hours in the Cluster ABC and after the Cluster ABC has completely operated for five years. Traffic Impact Analysis was needed to predict whether the transportation infrastructures are under the influence of the development. The method of this research used a transportation modelling consisting of four steps, namely trip rise and attraction, trip distribution, mode selection, and traffic loading. Sampling technique used eight survey operators and three traffic experts. The result of this research was that there was a recommendation for mitigation that could be done by both the developer and the government. The key finding of the Traffic Impact Analysis was that to anticipate the increase of trip rise/attraction, then easy accessibility, reduction of distraction and safety risks for vehicles, as well as traffic management and engineering were needed for areas around the Cluster ABC
