Abstract

Students may encounter difficulties when solving basic multiplication problems. They proficiently recalled the entire multiplication table but struggled to locate specific results without reciting the whole table. Those interconnected challenges highlight the importance of implementing comprehensive teaching strategies. This study aims to support fourth-grade students' multiplication skills at SDN 3 Sindangkasih by applying the STAD learning model and finger-counting method. This study employed a quasi-experimental design with both control and experimental groups. Results show that the experimental class's average score improved significantly from 57 to 73 after treatment, while the control class's score increased slightly from 62 to 62.5, indicating no significant change. The significance value of the Wilcoxon test for the control group's pretest and posttest scores is 0.763, greater than 0.05, indicating no significant difference in average scores before and after the class. In contrast, the analysis for the pretest and posttest scores of the experiment class reveals a significant difference in scores (p = 0.000 < 0.05), indicating that the STAD learning model combined with the finger-counting method significantly improves students' multiplication skills. The findings suggest that the finger-counting method effectively supports students' multiplication abilities by providing a tangible and interactive approach to learning.

Abstract

Gerakan literasi untuk anak sangat penting sebagai upaya meningkatkan kemampuan membaca, menulis, dan memahami informasi sejak dini. Kemampuan ini menjadi sangat krusial untuk menunjang keberhasilan dalam belajar dan beraktivitas sehari-hari. Membangun kebiasaan literasi bisa sedini mungkin, dimulai dari lingkungan keluarga. Orang tua berperan penting dalam kegiatan literasi anak untuk membentuk kemampuan literasi yang tinggi. Orang tua yang merupakan pendamping pertama dimulainya perkembangan anak sejak dini, sehingga kebiasaan dan sikap dimulai dari didikan orang tua di rumah. Pada pengabdian ini kami menggunakan metode Participatory Action. Dikaji untuk menganalisis pelaksanaan program kegiatan literasi 10 menit di rumah bersama orang tua untuk siswa/siswi SDN 3 Nagrikaler periode 20 Oktober hingga 11 November 2025. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa program ini dinilai berhasil, didukung oleh tingkat partisipasi umum yang tinggi dan penerimaan yang baik di setiap jenjang kelas.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the influence and improvement of the Science, Environment, Technology, and Society (SETS) approach, supported by PhET Simulations, on students' science process skills. The background of this study is based on students' low science process skills, which are still unable to classify, predict, and interpret data because learning is not oriented towards a scientific approach. A quasi-experimental method was used, with a non-equivalent control group design. The samples of this study were fourth-grade students of SDN 3 Nagrikaler, divided into two groups: an experimental class and a control class, using a purposive sampling technique. Test results came from the collection of pre-test and post-test data on science process skills. Non-test data came from observation and documentation. The test results showed an effect of 68.9% and an increase of 0.6637, which is in the moderate category. Therefore, learning with the Science, Environment, Technology, and Society (SETS) approach, supported by PhET Simulations are influential and capable of enhancing students' science process skills in science learning.
