Abstract

The background to this research arose from the fact that teachers have not yet fully utilized the information technology (IT) available in schools. The development of innovative, engaging, and technology-based learning media is still limited, requiring teachers to improve their digital media skills to make the learning process more engaging and prevent student boredom (Prasetyo & Sari, 2021; Nugraha, 2020). Based on these challenges, this study was designed to explore the use of Wordwall as a more innovative learning evaluation tool. Furthermore, the use of Wordwall as a technology-based learning tool has not been significantly implemented in schools, despite the platform offering interactive and engaging features for students. This study aims to describe how Wordwall is used, the obstacles faced by teachers, and student responses to this platform as a tool for evaluating thematic learning for fifth-grade students at SDN 17 Pasaman. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design, with research subjects including teachers and 25 fifth-grade students at SDN 17 Pasaman, Pasaman District, West Pasaman Regency, during the 2025/2026 academic year. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, followed by descriptive analysis. The results showed that the use of Wordwall in the evaluation of Pancasila Education learning generated a very positive response from students. Teachers reported that students became more active and enthusiastic during the evaluation process. Quantitative findings supported this observation, with 92% of students feeling motivated to study harder, 91% encouraged to achieve a top scorer, 91% excited to solve problems, 72% challenged to answer questions quickly, and 81% encouraged to compete for the highest score. Furthermore, 97% of students stated that Wordwall was practical and enjoyable to use. The platform features an automatic assessment feature that facilitates teacher correction, allows for the creation of game-based evaluations without requiring programming skills, and can be tailored to the learning material (Putra, 2022; Suryani, 2020). This indicates that Wordwall can increase student motivation while providing an interactive, creative, and enjoyable learning experience.

Abstract

Education is fundamentally a gateway for students to acquire new insights, including comprehending the reality of diversity in Indonesia. Awareness of this multicultural society must be cultivated from an early age to foster mutual respect and prevent social friction. Under the current curriculum, Civics Education (PPKn) does not merely teach citizenship theory but also emphasizes character education. Based on Law No. 20 of 2003, values such as integrity, mutual cooperation, and nationalism must be instilled in students. The urgency of character education becomes increasingly apparent when facing a social reality fraught with conflict, such as the prevalence of bullying, sexual violence, and the erosion of empathy for others. Civics Education at the elementary school level plays a vital role as the foundation for developing students' knowledge and social skills. The utilization of digital media such as Kahoot becomes the key to creating interactive and technology-based learning. This medium offers a game-based quiz approach that is effective in fostering students' interest and focus on the subject matter. Furthermore, Kahoot possesses comprehensive evaluation features this medium is highly useful for supporting various academic activities, such as practice exercises, enrichment programs, and measuring learning outcomes through pretests and posttests.

Abstract

This conceptual study explores the theoretical and practical dimensions of learning assessment in elementary education by integrating assessment principles, techniques, and instruments within a unified conceptual framework. Employing a literature review approach, this research synthesizes relevant studies published between 2020 and 2025 from reputable international and national journals to examine current trends and challenges in assessment practices. The findings indicate a significant paradigm shift from traditional product-oriented assessments to formative and authentic assessments that emphasize learning as a reflective and continuous process. Core principles such as validity, reliability, authenticity, and continuity are identified as critical in ensuring fairness, accuracy, and meaningfulness of learning evaluations. Furthermore, the integration of test-based and non-test techniques, alongside the application of digital and authentic instruments, enhances the comprehensiveness and adaptability of assessment implementation in various educational contexts. Despite these advancements, challenges persist in teacher assessment literacy, technological readiness, and the contextual adaptation of assessment practices across diverse school settings. The study concludes by proposing a theoretical model that positions assessment not merely as a tool for measurement but as a pedagogical instrument that fosters reflection, student engagement, and competency-based learning aligned with 21st-century educational goals.

Abstract

Background of study: Digital infrastructure is increasingly available in elementary schools, but its pedagogical use remains uneven, particularly in Pancasila Education where abstract values must be connected to students' everyday school experiences. Aims and scope of paper: This study developed and evaluated Google Sites-based learning multimedia for fourth-grade Pancasila Education on the application of Pancasila values in the school environment. Methods: A Research and Development design using the ADDIE model was employed. The product was grounded in Cognitive Load Theory and the Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning and was evaluated through expert validation, practicality responses, and descriptive pretest-posttest indicators involving three validators, three teachers, and 73 students from three elementary schools. Result: The multimedia achieved an average validity score of 91.33% (Very Valid). Teacher and student practicality scores were 97.78% and 97.61%, respectively (Very Practical). Mean achievement increased from 69 to 92, with 95.89% learning mastery and an N-Gain of 74.58% (High). Conclusion: Within this descriptive R&D design, the product met the stated feasibility criteria and was accompanied by substantial improvement in learning scores. Structured content and simple non-linear navigation appear appropriate for organizing Google Sites-based multimedia for elementary Pancasila Education.
