Abstract

Abstract— The research objective was to partially and simultaneously analyze the influence of socio-economic factors of farmers (farmer age, education level, length of farming, number of family dependents, farm area, labor and capital) on farm production in Plaosan Village, Plaosan District, Magetan Regency. The population in this study were all vegetable farmers in Plaosan Village, Plaosan District, Magetan Regency. Data collection techniques using interviews and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique uses multiple linear regression analysis, hypothesis testing and determination analysis. The research findings (1) partially there is a significant influence on the variables of education, experience, land area, labor and capital on the production of vegetable farming in Plaosan Village, Plaosan District, Magetan Regency. Meanwhile, age and dependency variables influence the production of vegetable farming in Plaosan Village, Plaosan District, Magetan Regency; and (2) simultaneously there is a significant influence on the variables of age, education, experience, dependents, land area, labor and capital on the production of vegetable farming.  Keywords—: socio-economy; farmers; farming.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to assess soybean lines response to infection of Soybean mosaic virus (SMV) under drought stress. The experiment was conducted at the glasshouse in factorial in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four replications. The first factor is soybean lines with four soybean lines (GK/PI, GK/M8Grb, W/M, GK/LT) including one susceptible check variety i.e. Anjasmoro. The second factor is drought stress with three levels of soil water content (100, 75, and 50%) field capacity. Seven days after planting (DAP), plants were inoculated with sap from leaves SMV infected soybean. The result showed that drought stress levels had affected the percentage of seed weight loss in GK/L-T than in the Anjasmoro variety. The number of leaves was slowly decreased from 42 to 49 DAP. The level, duration, and frequency of drought stress affected more significant in the inhibition of the seed filling phase. The GK/L-T reaction was not detected in the presence of SMV and also the lowest of Absorbance ELISA Value. The seed yield (t/ha) of GK/L-T that was most superior and the lowest percentage of disease severity under drought stress.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Soybean mosaic virus (SMV) causes a decrease in soybean [Glycine max (Leguminosae) Merril] production. Activity of the Pseudomonas fluorescens (Pseudomonadaceae ) and chitosan can increase soybean plant resistance to SMV and stimulate plant growth. Therefore, The study aimed to evaluate the effect of increasing salicylic acid and total phenol contents on the biological control activity of P. fluorescens and chitosan against SMV. This study used two soybean varieties (Wilis and Anjasmoro) and three lines (GK/Mlg 3288-7-11, W/PI 200.485-7-14, and GK/PI200.485-7-2). Treatment using seed encapsulation with P. fluorescens combined with chitosan on the Wilis variety was the highest percentage of the total phenolic and salicylic acid content. In addition, Applying P. fluorescens with chitosan suppresses disease incidence on the Wilis variety and GK/Mlg 3288-7-11 line. Moreover, the ELISA absorbance value was low (0.182−0.224) and reacted negatively with no symptoms. Therefore, applying P. fluorescens combined with chitosan on the GK/Mlg 3288-7-11 line could be developed as the candidate variety for SMV control in the endemic soybean plant area. Abstract

Abstract. Tourism is a sector that supports the economy of a region which has a major influence on other sectors. Tourism is one of the sectors most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. This impact is increasingly seen with the existence of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) and PPKM (Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities) by the Government. At the Umbul Tourism Park located in Glonggonng village, Dolopo District, Madiun Regency, there are 49 street vendors at Umbul Tourism Park or Madiun Umbul Square who depend on selling their lives at tourist sites and are no longer selling. The solution provided by the Merdeka Madiun University service team for street vendors in Madiun Umbul Square who were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic was to empower partners, namely by: 1) Strengthening economic resilience for partners due to the Covid-19 Pandemic; 2) improvement of partner's standard of living through new production business; 3) increasing cooperation among members with the principles of sharing and collaborating; 4) Managing waste into salable products; 5) Counseling on the importance of layout and hygiene for business premises; 6) Opening market access for production results outside the tourist park area. To achieve these goals, empowerment programs are carried out: 1) Counseling on the principles of sharing and collaborating; 2) Counseling on the importance of layout and hygiene of business premises; 3) Training on making knitting masks and connectors; 4) Training on worm maintenance and vermicompost production; 5) Training on making organic liquid fertilizer from household waste.Abstrak. Pariwisata merupakan sektor penopang ekonomi suatu wilayah yang memberikan pengaruh besar  bagi sektor-sektor lainnya. Pariwisata merupakan salah satu sektor paling terdampak dari pandemi Covid-19. Dampak tersebut semakin terlihat dengan adanya Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar (PSBB) dan PPKM (Pemberlakuan Pembatasan Kegiatan Bermasyarakat) oleh Pemerintah. Di Taman Wisata Umbul yang terletak di desa Glonggonng, Kecamatan Dolopo, Kabupaten Madiun, terdapat 49 pedagang kaki lima Taman Wisata Umbul atau Madiun Umbul Square yang menggantungkan hidup dari berjualan di lokasi Wisata dan kini sudah tidak berjualan lagi. Solusi yang diberikan oleh tim pengabdian Universitas Merdeka Madiun untuk  pedagang kaki lima Madiun Umbul Square yang terdampak pademi Covid -19 adalah pemberdayaan mitra, yakni dengan cara : 1) Menguatkan ketahanan ekonomi bagi mitra akibat Pandemi Covid-19; 2) Meningkatkan taraf hidup mitra melalui usaha produksi baru; 3) Meningkatkan kerja sama antar anggota dengan prinsip berbagi dan berkolaborasi; 4) Mengelola sampah menjadi produk bernilai jual; 5) Penyuluhan pentingnya tata letak dan higienitas bagi tempat usaha; 6) Membuka akses pasar bagi hasil produksi di luar wilayah taman wisata. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, program pemberdayaan yang dilakukan : 1) Penyuluhan Prinsip berbagi dan berkolaborasi; 2) Penyuluhan pentingnya tata letak dan higienitas tempat usaha; 3) Pelatihan pembuatan masker dan konektor rajut; 4) Pelatihan pemeliharaan cacing dan produksi kascing; 5) Pelatihan pembuatan pupuk cair organik dari limbah rumah tangga.

Abstract

Abstract. This community service program aims to improve performance at the production, management, and product marketing stages independently and sustainably. The method used is through dissemination and counseling on product ideas by looking at market demand conditions but also taking into account the capabilities of existing resources. The development of productive economic activities needs to be carried out by developing various types of market-oriented business skills. Through identifying the potential and resources of the participants, both human, institutional, financial, and facilities and infrastructure that can be utilized, then training by utilizing e-commerce for product marketing and providing assistance in implementing skills guidance, as well as developing productive economic activities are carried out by developing various types of business skills that are economically valuable and market-oriented. After providing assistance and knowledge transfer, there were several positive impacts, including a change in the mindset of persons with disabilities to be more empowered and independent by exploring their potential, product opportunities were more widely explored, to increase branding, thereby increasing income, and diversity of livelihoods that can be an alternative for the community to carry out their lives. In the end, the community service activities felt by the Krida Karya Mandiri Association were that participants were able to make and sell useful, interesting, and artistic crafts by utilizing technological developments. In the economic field, persons with disabilities are empowered through the utilization of natural potential and human resources. And in the social field, empowered to always be optimistic and independent. Abstrak. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatan kinerja di tahap produksi, manajemen, hingga pemasaran produk secara mandiri dan keberlanjutan. Metode yang digunakan melalui sosialisasi dan penyuluhan gagasan produk dengan melihat kondisi permintaan pasar namun juga memperhatikan kemampuan sumber daya yang ada. Pengembangan kegiatan ekonomi produktif perlu dilaksanakan dengan mengembangkan berbagai jenis ketrampilan usaha yang berorientasi pada pasar. Melalui identifikasi potensi dan sumber daya peserta baik sumber daya manusia, kelembagan, finansial maupun sarana dan prasarana yang dapat dimanfaatkan, kemudian pelatihan dengan memanfaatkan e-commerce untuk pemasaran produk dan melakukan pendampingan dalam pelaksanaan bimbingan ketrampilan, serta pengembangan kegiatan ekonomi produktif dilaksanakan dengan mengembangkan berbagai jenis ketrampilan usaha yang bernilai ekonomis dan berorientasi pada pasar. Setelah melakukan pendampingan dan transfer ilmu pengetahuan, terdapat beberapa dampak positif antara lain adanya perubahan mindset dari penyandang disabilitas untuk lebih berdaya dan mandiri dengan menggali potensi yang dimilikinya, peluang produk lebih tereksplor secara luas, sehingga dapat meningkatkan branding, dengan begitu akan meningkatkan pendapatan, serta keragaman mata pencaharian yang dapat menjadi alternatif masyarakat untuk melangsungkan kehidupannya. Pada akhirnya, kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dirasakan oleh Paguyupan Disabilitas Krida Karya Mandiri adalah peserta telah mampu membuat dan menjual kerajinan yang bermanfat, menarik dan memiliki nilai seni dengan memanfaatkan perkembangan teknologi. Dalam bidang ekonomi, penyandang disabilitas diberdayakan melalui pemanfaatan potensi alam maupun sumber daya manusia. Dan dalam bidang sosial, diberdayakan untuk selalu bersikap optimis dan mandiri.

ABSTRACTSoybeans [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] require much water, especially in the early stages of growth, flowering, and pod formation and filling. Drought stress on soybeans will increase with global climate change. The research aimed to evaluate the efficacy of Glomus mosseae and Pseudomonas fluorescens in inducing systemic resistance to control Soybean Mosaic Virus (SMV) and the performance of soybean plants with drip irrigation in the dry season. The drip irrigation was stopped for ten days at the beginning of bloom, full bloom, beginning pod, and regular drip irrigation. The application of G. mosseae inoculants used 100 g of sterile compost mixed with 30 spores. The liquid inoculum of P. fluorescens was applied on cotyledonary leaves using the watering method. The plants were inoculated with SMV 6 and 12 days after the P. fluorescens treatment. The symptoms of SMV were recorded two weeks after inoculation, and Indirect ELISA detected the virus. The results showed the combination of G. mosseae and P. fluorescens under drip irrigation stopped at the beginning of bloom for ten days on ELISA absorbance values and disease severity of 0.259 and 3.72 %, respectively. Moreover, this treatment showed the highest values for the 100-seed weight, seed yield, and fresh weight of leaves. The technique of giving water by stopping drip irrigation at the beginning of bloom for ten days will help save water and increase the P. fluorescens population optimally in Alfisols with a pH of between 4.5 and 5.1 with incredibly low fertility. The combination of G. mosseae and P. fluorescens population resulted in a significant increase in the number of G. mosseae’s spores by stopping drip irrigation at the beginning of bloom for ten days.

Abstract

Stand density and species diversity are two indicators that are highly related to forest productivity. However, the effect of those variables on the productivity of community forest is rarely documented. This study evaluates the influence of stand density and species diversity on timber production and carbon stock in the community forest. The study area was located in Madiun District. A field survey was conducted in four different community forest sites, i.e. Morang, Kuwiran, Randualas, and Kare. The sampling technique was by quadrat method using a sample plot size of 25 m x 25 m. The number of sample plots used in this study was 64 units, which were evenly distributed in every site. Comparison of stand attributes among sites was examined by Kruskal-Wallis test and followed by Kruskal-Nemenyi test on the effects of stand density and species diversity on timber production and carbon stock were assessed separately for each parameter using the generalized least square regression test. The process of statistical analysis was applied using a significance level of 5%. Results show a significant difference in stand volume, aboveground biomass, and carbon stock among sites (P<0.05). This study also recorded a meaningful effect of stand density and species diversity on timber production and carbon stock of community forest, wherein stand density provided a higher effect (R2 = 0.68; P<0.05) than species diversity (R2 = 0.26; P<0.05).
