Abstract

Body Mass Index was found as one of many parameters which have been used to determine body proportion. This study aims to determine the relationship of body mass index (BMI) and glucose levels in the productive age because this is an indication that one may experience a wide variety of metabolic diseases due to control blood glucose and abnormal body mass index. The research method was an observational crossectional. The results shows that GDS normal with normal BMI are 26 respondents (81.3%), and found that the most abnormal GDS is also derived from the normal BMI groups with 6 respondents (18.8%). BMI otherwise unrelated to the productive age’s GDS with p-value correlation with age and GDS is p = 0.537 (p > 0.05) while p-value correlation BMI and GDS is p = 0.203 (p > 0.05).

Abstract

The first thousand days of life, beginning with pregnancy, are crucial for a child's development, influenced by factors like maternal nutrition, health, antenatal care (ANC), exclusive breastfeeding, birth weight, immunization, and complementary feeding. Regular ANC visits are vital for monitoring the health of both mother and fetus. This cross-sectional study examined the association between ANC history, anemia during pregnancy, exclusive breastfeeding, and maternal dietary practices with child nutritional status in Ciranggem Village, Sumedang Regency (2021–2023). Data from 30 mothers of children aged 2–5 years were analyzed using Chi-square tests. Significant associations (p < 0.05) were found between all four maternal factors and child nutritional outcomes, highlighting their collective impact on growth. The study used an analytical observational design with total sampling. Results showed 73.3% of mothers received ANC, practiced exclusive breastfeeding, and maintained a healthy diet, while 26.7% had a history of anemia. Children's nutritional status was as follows: Normal (66.7%, 20 children), Stunting (20%, 6 children), Underweight (10%, 3 children), and Overweight (3.3%, 1 child). Statistical analysis yielded a p-value < 0.05, indicating a significant link between maternal factors and child nutrition.

Abstract

Introduction: Cephalopelvic disproportion (CPD) is a labor-related condition caused by a mismatch between fetal size and maternal pelvic capacity, resulting in obstructed labor and potential maternal-fetal complications. It may arise from pelvic contraction, excessive fetal growth, or a combination of both. Objective: This study aims to report a case of cephalopelvic disproportion with a history of previous cesarean section and anemia in a 29-year-old pregnant woman. Method: A descriptive case-report approach was used. Clinical data were collected from medical records, including patient history, physical examination, laboratory results, and obstetric management procedures. Result and Discussion: The patient, gravida 2 para 1 abortus 0, presented with abdominal tightening, visual disturbances, and a known history of narrow pelvis and previous cesarean delivery. Examination confirmed cephalopelvic disproportion with anemia. Labor progression was stagnant, indicating mechanical obstruction. Cesarean section was performed successfully, and pharmacological treatment was administered to manage anemia and postoperative recovery. Conclusion: This case illustrates the importance of early identification and multidisciplinary management of cephalopelvic disproportion in patients with previous cesarean section and anemia to prevent maternal and neonatal complications
