Abstract

This study explores the reactualization of ‘aqal (intellect) and qalb (heart) in Islamic education within the framework of the Merdeka Curriculum, emphasizing the integration of deep learning and a love-based pedagogical approach. Contemporary Islamic education often tends to prioritize cognitive achievement while underemphasizing affective and spiritual dimensions, resulting in an imbalance in the holistic development of learners. This research aims to conceptually analyze how the synergy between ‘aqal and qalb can be strengthened through innovative learning paradigms that align with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum. Using a qualitative library research method, this study examines relevant literature on Islamic educational philosophy, deep learning theory, and love-based curriculum approaches. The findings indicate that deep learning fosters critical thinking, reflection, and meaningful understanding, while a love-based approach nurtures empathy, compassion, and spiritual awareness. The integration of these approaches provides a holistic framework that aligns intellectual rigor with emotional and spiritual development. Furthermore, the Merdeka Curriculum offers a flexible and student-centered platform that enables educators to implement this integrative model effectively. The study concludes that the harmonization of ‘aqal and qalb through deep learning and love-based education can enhance the quality of Islamic education by producing learners who are intellectually competent, emotionally balanced, and spiritually grounded. This approach also reinforces the role of education as a transformative process that not only transmits knowledge but also cultivates character and moral integrity

Abstract

This study aims to examine the transformation of values and character education based on the Qur’an and Hadith as a solution to contemporary moral and educational challenges. The research employs a qualitative approach through library research by analyzing various scholarly sources, journal articles, and relevant Islamic educational literature. The findings reveal that values such as gratitude, patience, honesty, justice, compassion, responsibility, and sincerity serve as fundamental principles in shaping students’ character. These values can be effectively internalized through several educational methods, including role modeling, habituation, advice, self-reflection, and storytelling. The study further highlights that the integration of Qur’anic and prophetic values into modern educational practices contributes significantly to the development of students’ spiritual, emotional, and social competencies. The novelty of this research lies in its integrative framework that connects Islamic moral values with transformative character education approaches adaptable to contemporary educational contexts. This study also offers a holistic perspective by emphasizing the practical transformation of Qur’anic and Hadith-based values into sustainable character-building strategies in Islamic education

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the opportunities, challenges, and implementation strategies of artificial intelligence in Islamic Religious Education learning while remaining aligned with Islamic values. This research employs a library research method with a descriptive-analytical approach through the examination of various scholarly sources, including journals, books, academic articles, and educational policy documents. The data analysis technique was conducted through data reduction, categorization, interpretation, and conclusion drawing based on the relevance of the research themes. The findings indicate that the integration of AI in IRE learning offers significant opportunities to enhance learning effectiveness, personalize learning materials, improve educational accessibility, and strengthen students’ digital literacy. However, the implementation of AI also presents challenges, including the potential degradation of spiritual values, technological dependency, ethical issues in data usage, and the limited digital competence of educators. Therefore, implementation strategies are needed that emphasize the integration of Islamic values, the strengthening of teachers’ roles as moral guides, the development of curricula based on Islamic digital ethics, and educational policies that are adaptive to technological advancements

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively analyze the objectives, benefits, and functions of accreditation in improving the quality of Indonesia’s national school system based on established standards. It focuses on how accreditation operates as an external quality assurance mechanism that is both evaluative and transformative in fostering continuous improvement within educational institutions. The study employs a qualitative library research method, analyzing recent scholarly sources, including national and international journal articles, academic books, and relevant policy documents. Data are examined using content analysis to identify patterns, themes, and conceptual relationships related to accreditation and educational quality. The findings reveal that accreditation serves three primary roles: quality assurance, performance evaluation, and public accountability. It ensures the fulfillment of National Education Standards, improves teaching and learning quality, enhances teacher professionalism, and strengthens school management effectiveness. Functionally, it acts as an external quality control system that promotes transparency and public trust. The study also finds that its effectiveness depends on schools’ follow-up actions after evaluation. Its novelty lies in integrating the objectives, benefits, and functions of accreditation into a unified standards-based framework, highlighting its role as a transformative system grounded in continuous improvement, institutional reflection, and innovation
