Abstract

This study aims to analyze the internalization of Emotional Spiritual Quotient (ESQ) values in building entrepreneurial character and work ethic among Sasirangan MSME entrepreneurs in South Kalimantan. The study is based on the assumption that entrepreneurial success is not only determined by technical and managerial competencies, but also by emotional intelligence, spiritual awareness, and cultural values that shape business behavior. The internalization of ESQ values is considered essential in strengthening entrepreneurial resilience, integrity, discipline, creativity, and ethical work orientation among local entrepreneurs engaged in the Sasirangan industry as a cultural-based creative economy sector. This research employs a qualitative approach using the Library Research method. Data were collected from scientific journals, books, theses, dissertations, and academic documents related to ESQ, Islamic entrepreneurship, work ethic, Banjar culture, and the development of Sasirangan MSMEs. The collected data were analyzed through content analysis to identify conceptual patterns and relationships between emotional intelligence, spiritual intelligence, entrepreneurial character, and work ethic. The findings reveal that the internalization of ESQ values significantly contributes to the formation of entrepreneurial character through honesty, responsibility, discipline, emotional control, creativity, and social awareness. Furthermore, spiritual intelligence strengthens the Islamic work ethic by encouraging entrepreneurs to perceive work as a form of worship, thereby increasing motivation, perseverance, and professional integrity. Banjar cultural values such as kayuh baimbai also reinforce cooperation, solidarity, and collective responsibility among Sasirangan entrepreneurs. The novelty of this study lies in its integrative analysis of ESQ values, Islamic spirituality, and Banjar local culture in shaping entrepreneurial character and work ethic within the context of Sasirangan MSMEs. This research also offers a conceptual contribution to Islamic entrepreneurship studies by emphasizing the importance of emotional-spiritual intelligence and local wisdom as socio-cultural capital for sustainable creative economic development.

Abstract

This article examines the relevance of religious moderation in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning to the formation of multicultural attitudes among students, particularly in multiethnic regions such as Balangan Regency, South Kalimantan. Using an integrative literature review approach, this study analyzes the relationship between the concept of religious moderation (tawassuth, tawazun, i'tidal, tasamuh) and the dimensions of multicultural attitudes as framed by James A. Banks. Bronfenbrenner's Ecological Theory is employed as a meta-theory to understand the position of PAI learning as an agent of value socialization within the school microsystem. Findings indicate that PAI learning that consistently and contextually integrates moderation values is both relevant and effective in building students' multicultural attitudes across cognitive, affective, and conative dimensions. PAI teachers who serve as role models (uswah hasanah) for inclusive values and employ dialogical and cooperative learning methods function as the most strategic transformative agents. The implications of this study affirm the necessity of reformulating PAI learning approaches from doctrinal transmission toward contextual and participatory value internalization, especially in regions with complex multiethnic compositions outside Java

Abstract

The rapid development of modern science and technology, particularly in the fields of medicine, biotechnology, and healthcare, has significantly transformed human life. Innovations such as genetic engineering, cloning, in vitro fertilization (IVF), organ transplantation, and vaccine development have contributed greatly to improving human health and quality of life. However, these advancements also raise ethical, moral, and religious concerns that require comprehensive analysis, particularly from the perspective of Islamic bioethics. This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic bioethics and Islamic Religious Education in addressing the challenges posed by modern scientific development. The research employs a qualitative approach using library research methods by examining books, scientific journals, fatwas, and other relevant academic literature related to Islamic bioethics, maqashid sharia, and the ethics of modern science. The findings indicate that Islam fundamentally supports scientific and technological advancement as long as it remains aligned with moral values and the objectives of Islamic law (maqashid sharia). Islamic bioethics functions as an ethical framework for evaluating modern biomedical technologies by emphasizing the protection of religion, life, intellect, lineage, and property. Furthermore, Islamic Religious Education plays a strategic role in fostering ethical awareness, critical thinking, and spiritual responsibility among students in responding to technological advancement. Therefore, the integration of Islamic bioethics into Islamic Religious Education is essential for developing a generation that is intellectually competent, morally responsible, and spiritually grounded in facing the challenges of modern science and technology.
