Abstract

Female Muslim legislators have become increasingly visible in the political landscapes of several Muslim-majority countries, including Indonesia and Turkey, where shifting democratic norms and evolving interpretations of Islamic gender ethics shape women’s participation in governance. Despite expanded representation, questions remain regarding how these women influence gender-inclusive policymaking and how their political strategies differ across distinct socio-religious and institutional contexts. Understanding these dynamics is essential for analyzing the broader transformation of Muslim women’s political agency in contemporary Muslim democracies. This study aims to compare the roles, strategies, and policy impacts of female Muslim legislators in Indonesia and Turkey by examining how they navigate religious discourse, party structures, and political constraints while advocating for gender-inclusive reforms. The research seeks to identify convergences and divergences in their legislative behavior, institutional challenges, and use of Islamic arguments in political debates. A qualitative comparative political analysis was conducted using parliamentary documents, policy archives, and twenty semi-structured interviews with legislators, political advisors, and civil-society actors from both countries. The analysis employed thematic coding and cross-case comparison to evaluate how religious identity intersects with political participation and legislative outcomes. Findings reveal that Indonesian female Muslim legislators tend to mobilize pluralist Islamic narratives and civil-society alliances to strengthen gender advocacy, whereas their Turkish counterparts often navigate more centralized party systems and heightened ideological polarization. Both groups, however, strategically employ Islamic ethical frameworks to legitimize gender-inclusive policies. The study concludes that female Muslim legislators play a crucial role in transforming gender governance in Muslim-majority democracies, though the extent of their influence remains shaped by national political structures.

Abstract

The global imperative for low-carbon development necessitates the formal integration of Nature-based Solutions. Mangrove forests, known for their superior carbon sequestration as “Blue Carbon,” offer a crucial asset, yet their economic potential remains severely constrained by valuation and policy standardization issues. This study aimed to develop a standardized Total Economic Valuation (TEV) framework for Indonesian Blue Carbon and analyze the regulatory requirements for its formal inclusion in the national carbon trading policy. A mixed-methods design utilized biophysical data from two major mangrove regions, employing financial modeling (Discounted Cash Flow and Monte Carlo simulations) to calculate TEV, and policy analysis to assess governance readiness. The TEV averaged USD 21,500 ha, nearly three times the carbon-only value, demonstrating the asset’s premium quality and superior financial stability (45% lower IRR volatility). However, a significant governance bottleneck was identified (Policy Alignment Index 65%), primarily due to a centralized Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) system and uncertain community benefit sharing, which actively inhibits market entry. Blue Carbon is validated as a high-integrity, de-risked asset, but its realization depends critically on policy intervention, urging the immediate adoption of the TEV framework and the decentralization of MRV to ensure social equity and accelerate climate finance.

Abstract

The background of this research focuses on the challenges of developing batteries with high capacity, efficiency, and long life. Quantum computing is considered a promising technology for designing new materials that can solve these problems. The purpose of the study is to examine the potential application of quantum computing in the design of battery materials that are more efficient and have better stability. The method used is a quantum simulation to model the interactions of atoms and molecules in various materials that have the potential to be used for batteries, such as lithium-sulfur, graphene, and sodium-ion. The results showed that lithium-sulfur-based materials have a high energy capacity but are less stable, while graphene is more stable with excellent conductivity despite a slightly lower energy capacity. These results provide new insights into the selection of battery materials based on the balance between energy capacity, conductivity, and thermal stability. The conclusion of this study confirms the importance of quantum computing in accelerating the development of more efficient and environmentally friendly battery materials, although further physical experiments are needed to verify the results of quantum simulations.

Abstract

The problem of quantum measurements has become one of the most controversial topics in quantum physics. Various interpretations of the role of observers and measurement processes in the quantum world have been proposed, but there is no clear consensus yet. The study focuses on the various proposed solutions to quantum measurement problems, highlighting the theory of decoherence and Many Worlds as promising alternatives. The purpose of this study is to analyze the various proposed solutions to quantum measurement problems and explore the relevance of decoherence theory and Many Worlds in explaining measurements without directly involving observers. The method used in this study is a literature analysis of 30 leading publications that discuss the topic of quantum measurement problems and proposed solutions. The data collected included theoretical and experimental studies relevant to Copenhagen's interpretation, Many Worlds, and decoherence theory. The study found that Copenhagen's interpretation continues to dominate the literature, but approaches such as Many Worlds and decoherence are gaining more attention. Decoherence theory in particular offers a more adequate explanation for bridging the gap between the quantum world and the classical world without requiring the role of an observer in measurement. The study concludes that although many solutions have been proposed, decoherence theory provides a more cohesive and comprehensive alternative in addressing quantum measurement problems. Further research is needed to test the reliability of these theories in more controlled quantum experiments.

Abstract

Artificial intelligence research has long framed conversational systems as reactive tools responding to human prompts, a view increasingly insufficient to explain recent developments in autonomous AI. The emergence of Agentic AI signals a shift toward systems capable of planning, acting, and evaluating outcomes independently within complex digital environments. This study aims to conceptualize Agentic AI as a distinct paradigm beyond chatbot-based architectures and to examine its implications for human–AI interaction and governance. The research employs a qualitative conceptual design based on systematic analysis of secondary literature, comparative frameworks, and documented case studies of autonomous AI agents. Analytical synthesis is used to examine autonomy, system architecture, and modes of control across implementations. The results demonstrate that Agentic AI exhibits measurable autonomy through goal persistence, multi-step planning, and self-directed execution, enabling performance advantages in complex tasks while introducing new risks of misalignment and responsibility diffusion. Comparative analysis confirms that autonomy emerges from system-level integration rather than model scale alone. The study concludes that Agentic AI represents a substantive transformation in artificial intelligence practice, requiring revised evaluation metrics, governance structures, and theoretical frameworks. Recognizing Agentic AI as an operational actor rather than a conversational interface is essential for design, deployment, and future research.

Abstract

Shariah economic law is increasingly shaped by the dynamics of globalization, where cross-border finance, international standards, and regulatory convergence influence how Islamic legal principles are interpreted and applied. Expanding integration into global markets raises critical questions about the balance between legal adaptation, harmonization, and resistance, particularly in maintaining normative integrity while ensuring economic competitiveness. This study aims to examine how these three legal orientations interact in shaping contemporary Islamic economic law across different jurisdictions. A qualitative normative–juridical research design is employed through systematic analysis of 98 legal documents, including jurisprudential texts, regulatory frameworks, and international standards. Analytical matrices and thematic coding are used to identify patterns of legal transformation, institutional mediation, and interpretive diversity. The findings reveal that Shariah economic law evolves through a dynamic interplay of adaptation, harmonization, and resistance, with hybrid frameworks emerging as dominant responses to global pressures. Harmonization enhances regulatory coherence, adaptation ensures contextual flexibility, and resistance preserves doctrinal authenticity. The study concludes that effective governance requires integrative approaches that balance global alignment with normative preservation, ensuring that Islamic economic law remains both relevant and ethically grounded in a globalized financial system.

Abstract

Background. The role of reward and punishment systems in shaping student discipline has long been a subject of interest in educational psychology. Schools often rely on these systems to promote desirable behaviors and deter misconduct, yet the effectiveness of these strategies remains debated. Purpose. This study explores the influence of reward and punishment systems on student discipline in secondary schools, focusing on how these strategies affect student behavior and academic performance. Method. The research uses a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys to assess student perceptions and qualitative interviews with teachers and school administrators. Results. The results reveal that both reward and punishment systems have a significant impact on student discipline, but the nature of the influence depends on the consistency, clarity, and fairness of their implementation. Reward systems were found to be more effective in fostering positive behaviors and improving academic performance, while punishment systems were more effective in deterring misconduct when applied consistently. However, excessive reliance on punishment led to negative emotional outcomes for students. Conclusion. The study concludes that a balanced approach, where rewards are used to encourage positive behaviors and punishments are applied sparingly and fairly, is the most effective strategy for promoting student discipline.
