Abstract

This study aims to understand how visual communication in digital environmental information systems contributes to the development of ecological awareness among the Medan Sunggal community. This study focuses on the phenomenon of communication of meaning construction through visual elements in digital platforms used to disseminate environmental information. A qualitative research design was used by conducting in-depth interviews with community members and analyzing the visual content of digital environmental information systems, including infographics, symbols, color usage, and visual narratives. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns in user interpretation, understanding, and perceived relevance of visual communication. The results show that visual elements that reflect local context, simplicity, and symbolic clarity play an important role in enhancing message comprehension and fostering ecological awareness. Digital environmental information systems function not only as information providers but also as communicative spaces where visual design mediates public understanding of environmental issues. This study is limited to a specific local environment and does not measure long-term behavioral outcomes, suggesting that future research should examine the impact of behavior or comparative cultural contexts. The originality of this study lies in its focus on local visual communication practices in digital environmental information systems, which offers valuable insights into applied communication strategies that integrate cultural context and visual meaning-making to support environmental awareness initiatives.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital yang semakin pesat menyebabkan meningkatnya risiko ancaman keamanan sistem informasi di lingkungan pendidikan, khususnya pada kalangan siswa sekolah menengah kejuruan. Kurangnya pemahaman siswa mengenai keamanan data pribadi, penggunaan kata sandi yang aman, serta ancaman siber seperti phishing dan malware menjadi permasalahan yang perlu mendapatkan perhatian. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di SMK Brigjend Katamso II Marelan dengan tujuan meningkatkan literasi keamanan sistem informasi bagi siswa di era digital. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan melalui pendekatan edukatif berupa sosialisasi, pelatihan, diskusi interaktif, dan simulasi keamanan digital. Materi yang diberikan meliputi pentingnya menjaga kerahasiaan data pribadi, penggunaan internet secara aman, pengenalan ancaman siber, serta penerapan keamanan akun digital. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman dan kesadaran siswa terhadap pentingnya keamanan sistem informasi dalam aktivitas digital sehari-hari. Siswa menjadi lebih memahami cara melindungi data pribadi serta mampu mengenali berbagai bentuk ancaman siber yang sering terjadi. Dengan adanya kegiatan ini diharapkan siswa dapat menerapkan perilaku digital yang aman dan bertanggung jawab dalam penggunaan teknologi informasi.

Abstract

Di era digital saat ini, efisiensi aplikasi QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) sebagai metode pembayaran telah memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap perekonomian. QRIS mempercepat transaksi, mengurangi biaya operasional, dan meningkatkan keamanan dalam bertransaksi, sehingga memberikan kenyamanan bagi konsumen dan pelaku usaha. Dengan sistem yang terintegrasi, QRIS juga mendukung inklusi keuangan, memungkinkan akses yang lebih luas bagi masyarakat untuk menggunakan layanan keuangan digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak QRIS dalam memfasilitasi transaksi ekonomi di Indonesia, serta mengevaluasi tantangan yang dihadapi dalam implementasinya. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa adopsi QRIS tidak hanya meningkatkan efisiensi transaksi, tetapi juga berkontribusi pada pertumbuhan ekonomi digital yang berkelanjutan. Dengan demikian, QRIS menjadi pilar penting dalam transformasi ekonomi di tengah perubahan sosial dan teknologi yang cepat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji adaptasi domain model BERT untuk analisis sentimen terhadap evaluasi akademik mahasiswa di Universitas Wirahusada Medan. Teks evaluasi akademik sering kali mengandung terminologi khusus bidang tertentu, ungkapan informal, serta distribusi sentimen yang tidak seimbang, sehingga menurunkan efektivitas model bahasa pralatih yang bersifat umum. Penelitian ini menerapkan strategi fine-tuning dengan pendekatan Domain-Adaptive Pretraining (DAPT) pada dataset berlabel yang berisi umpan balik mahasiswa. Desain eksperimen membandingkan model BERT dasar (baseline) dengan BERT yang telah diadaptasi domain menggunakan metode stratified 5-fold cross-validation. Kinerja model dievaluasi menggunakan metrik accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, dan Area Under the Curve (AUC). Uji signifikansi statistik dilakukan dengan paired t-test dan uji McNemar untuk memvalidasi perbedaan performa antar model. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adaptasi domain secara signifikan meningkatkan kinerja klasifikasi, khususnya dalam menangani sentimen netral dan negatif. Model yang telah diadaptasi memperoleh nilai F1-score yang lebih tinggi serta menunjukkan kemampuan generalisasi yang lebih baik di setiap fold pengujian. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa adaptasi spesifik domain mampu meningkatkan ketahanan (robustness) dan keandalan model berbasis transformer dalam sistem penjaminan mutu akademik, serta mendukung pengambilan keputusan berbasis data dalam manajemen pendidikan tinggi.

Abstract

Purpose: Early childhood education (ECE) serves as a foundational stage for children's holistic development, yet many programs continue to rely on conventional curricula that inadequately address children's diverse developmental needs. This study examines curriculum innovation and pedagogical advancement in ECE settings, with the aim of proposing a framework for developmentally appropriate practice (DAP) that integrates child-centered, progressive pedagogical approaches to support children's cognitive, social, and emotional development. Methodology: A qualitative case study design was employed across multiple early childhood education centers. Participants comprised early childhood teachers, curriculum coordinators, and school administrators directly involved in curriculum planning and implementation. Data were generated through semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis of curriculum materials and lesson plans. Thematic analysis was used to identify patterns across curriculum innovation, pedagogical practices, and developmental appropriateness. Trustworthiness was established through data triangulation and member checking. Results: Findings reveal that curriculum innovation meaningfully enhances developmentally appropriate learning when grounded in child-centered pedagogical practices. Key innovative strategies identified include play-based learning, inquiry-based activities, and integrated thematic curriculum design. These approaches were associated with increased children's engagement, creativity, collaborative behavior, and problem-solving competencies. Teachers who adopted reflective practice and flexible curriculum adaptation demonstrated greater responsiveness to children's diverse developmental needs. Conclusions: Integrating curriculum innovation with progressive pedagogy offers a robust foundation for developmentally appropriate learning in early childhood settings. The proposed framework foregrounds child-centered environments, flexible curriculum structures, and reflective teaching as core principles. These findings carry practical implications for ECE educators, curriculum developers, and policymakers committed to improving the quality and responsiveness of early childhood education programs.
