Abstract

Indonesia is home to the largest Muslim community on earth and to a zakat base estimated above IDR 327 trillion, yet the funds actually collected amount to less than fifteen percent of that ceiling. Digital zakat services have multiplied in recent years, but their take-up among muzakki remains patchy, and what actually motivates voluntary religious giving through online channels is still poorly mapped. The current research broadens the second-generation of Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology by adding three constructs that become essential once the technology mediates an act of worship rather than an ordinary purchase: zakat literacy, Islamic religiosity, and trust in zakat institutions. Employing a quantitative approach, explanatory devise, survey data were collected from 373 Indonesian Muslims via a purposive online questionnaire and analysed with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling in SmartPLS 4. The findings show that the exogenous constructs jointly and positively shape the intention to give zakat through digital means (p < 0.01), with effort expectancy, trust in zakat institutions, and facilitating conditions standing out as the leading drivers. Overall, the model accounts for a substantial share of the variance in behavioural intention, and discriminant validity is upheld under the Fornell-Larcker, cross-loading, and Heterotrait-Monotrait criteria. The contribution is a context-adjusted acceptance model showing that, for voluntary religious giving, technological readiness works in concert with, not separately from, spiritual conviction and institutional credibility. The discussion draws out implications for amil zakat bodies, fintech developers, and regulators aiming to build digital zakat ecosystems that are more trustworthy, easier to use, and demonstrably Sharia-compliant.

Abstract

The growth of the digital economy in Indonesia has created significant opportunities for international brands to expand their market share. However, the success of global brands is not only determined by product quality but also by their ability to understand local cultural values and communicate effectively in a multilingual context. This study aims to analyze the influence of intercultural understanding on international consumer trust in Indonesia. The approach used is explanatory quantitative, with a survey method involving 200 respondents who have purchased international brands in Indonesia. The data was analyzed using SEM-PLS. The results indicate that intercultural understanding has a positive and significant effect on international consumer trust. Similarly, a multilingual branding strategy has a positive effect on consumer trust. Furthermore, the moderation results indicate that a multilingual branding strategy strengthens the relationship between intercultural understanding and consumer trust. These findings confirm that a combination of cultural sensitivity and multilingual communication is a key strategy in building consumer trust and loyalty in the Indonesian market. The implications of this research demonstrate the value of cross-cultural adaptation and inclusive communication as the foundation of sustainable global marketing.

Abstract

This study examines how millennial entrepreneurship models are shaped by digital entrepreneurial ecosystems, productive entrepreneurship, and sustainable business orientation among MSMEs. It also explores the role of MSMEs in addressing unemployment in Indonesia and improving competitiveness in national and international markets. Using a quantitative approach, this research collected primary and secondary data from 174 millennial-owned food industry MSMEs across seven locations in the Bangka Belitung Islands. The sample was selected through purposive sampling, and the data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings show that the digital entrepreneurial ecosystem has a positive and significant effect on productive entrepreneurship, while productive entrepreneurship strongly and significantly influences millennial entrepreneurship models. The digital entrepreneurial ecosystem and productive entrepreneurship also positively affect sustainable business. In addition, sustainable business has a significant relationship with millennial entrepreneurship, confirming the importance of sustainability in strengthening business performance, resilience, and competitiveness. The research model demonstrates moderate explanatory and predictive power for sustainable business and millennial entrepreneurship. This study concludes that strengthening digital entrepreneurial ecosystems and increasing entrepreneurial productivity are key factors in developing sustainable millennial entrepreneurship in island regions. The integration of digital ecosystems, entrepreneurial productivity, and sustainability orientation can enhance the resilience and long-term viability of MSMEs. Theoretically, this research enriches entrepreneurship literature by developing a millennial entrepreneurship model based on digital ecosystems and sustainability in an archipelagic context. Methodologically, it strengthens the application of PLS-SEM in MSME studies, while practically, it provides policy insights for local governments and stakeholders in designing digital-based and sustainability-oriented MSME development strategies. Its limitation lies in its focus on MSMEs in a single archipelagic province and its cross-sectional design, which limits the ability to capture long-term entrep
