Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the contribution of Murabahah financing to business income of BMT Maslahah. Financing is the second product after savings which is used for the distribution of funds to be used by customers in various financing, while Murabahah financing is a type of financing used in the practice of buying and selling goods with a profit system. This murabaha product has minimal risk because there is no loss sharing like a mudharabah, so it becomes a reference for BMTs to become part of the income in the form of profit contributions through Murabahah products. Furthermore, this research is a type of descriptive qualitative research where the researcher conducts fieldwork to obtain information from informants who will later analyze the data to obtain optimal data validity in the results. The results of this study are the contribution of Murabahah financing at BMT Maslahah Bulak Banteng Surabaya that this product provides progress to the continuity of BMT operations consisting of BMT staffing to BMT operational expenses then from the customer side as additional capital. Abstract

This article examines the significance of Islamic moderation (wasaṭiyyah) in supporting Indonesia’s efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Employing a qualitative, interpretive design, the study integrates an integrative literature review of classical and contemporary scholarship with systematic document analysis and thematic content analysis of key institutional reports. Drawing upon classical Islamic scholarship, contemporary Indonesian religious thought, and empirical examples across Islamic institutions, the study demonstrates that moderation, embodied by organizations like Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Muhammadiyah, provides a culturally grounded framework for advancing inclusive development, contributing directly to SDGs related to poverty alleviation, quality education, gender equality, climate action, and peacebuilding. However, the study also identifies complex challenges, including political polarization, digital radicalization, institutional fragmentation, and resource disparities, that constrain its effectiveness. The article concludes that enhancing policy coordination, expanding religious literacy, and empowering community leaders are essential for maximizing moderation’s role in Indonesia’s pursuit of the SDGs. Future research should empirically quantify the impact of specific faith-based initiatives on SDG indicators and comparatively analyze the Indonesian model of moderation with other Muslim-majority contexts to assess its broader applicability.

Abstract

This study examines Islamic religious character education as a conceptual framework for national character formation through a qualitative, theory-driven library research approach. Drawing on Islamic educational thought and engaging with contemporary character education theories advanced by Lickona, Bandura, and Kohlberg, the study analyzes how moral internalization, pedagogical practices, and spiritual accountability shape ethical behaviour and civic virtue. The findings indicate that Islamic religious character education converges with established character education frameworks in its emphasis on moral cognition, modelling, and habituation, while extending them by integrating spiritual accountability as a sustained source of moral motivation. In pluralistic societies, religious character education, when grounded in inclusivity and moderation, supports national civic virtues such as justice, tolerance, social responsibility, and respect for human dignity. This study contributes to international debates on character education by positioning Islamic religious character education as a theoretically relevant and context-sensitive resource for national character formation. Future studies are encouraged to empirically explore how inclusive models of religious character education are implemented across diverse educational settings and their implications for educational policy and practice.
