Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase environmental awareness among elementary school children through socialization and training in ecoprint techniques at SDN Sekarputih 2 Bondowoso. The identified problems were students' low attention to school environmental cleanliness and a lack of understanding of how to use natural materials wisely and environmentally friendly. The method used in implementing this activity was a participatory and educational approach, consisting of preparation and socialization stages, ecoprint making practice, mentoring and reflection, and activity evaluation. The number of participants involved in this activity was 27 children from grade V B. In the practical stage, students used leaves and flowers around the school as natural materials to create ecoprint works on fabric. The results of this activity showed an increase in students' understanding of environmental awareness, as reflected in the pre-test and post-test results which increased from 70% to 88%. In addition, students demonstrated more environmentally responsible behavior, such as reducing the use of single-use plastics and maintaining the cleanliness of the school environment. In terms of skills, students succeeded in creating simple ecoprint works well thanks to the mentoring process and direct practice. Thus, the application of ecoprint techniques has proven effective as a creative and environmentally friendly learning tool in forming environmentally conscious characters among elementary school students.
