Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work-life balance, compensation, job satisfaction, and motivation on the performance of MSME employees in the Seribu Islands. This study uses a quantitative approach with explanatory research. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to MSME employees working in the culinary, trade, tourism, lodging, and local creative business sectors in the Seribu Islands. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, while data analysis was conducted through validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, partial tests, simultaneous tests, and coefficients of determination. The results show that work-life balance, compensation, job satisfaction, and motivation have a positive effect on employee performance. Partially, compensation and motivation are the dominant factors in driving performance improvement, while work-life balance and job satisfaction strengthen employee psychological stability, loyalty, and work responsibility. Simultaneously, these four variables are proven to be able to explain variations in MSME employee performance strongly. This finding confirms that improving MSME employee performance is not only determined by financial aspects, but also by work-life balance, emotional satisfaction, and internal drive to work productively.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a green economy model in Cisaat Tourism Village through the Natural Resource Based Value (NRBV) and Systems Thinking Methodology approaches. The study uses a mixed methods approach by combining semi-structured interviews with 3 village officials, 5 business actors, and 3 community leaders, as well as a quantitative survey of 50 respondents using probability sampling techniques. The NRBV approach is used to assess the intrinsic value of natural resources, while systems thinking analyses the interrelationships between environmental, social, and economic aspects in a sustainable tourism system. The results of the study show that the development of Cisaat Tourism Village still faces major obstacles in the form of a weak village identity, the impact of study tour restrictions on tourist visits, weak digital promotion, and limited seasonal culinary ingredients. Theoretically, this study emphasises the importance of integrating village identity, policy adaptation, digitalisation of promotion, and culinary innovation in the development of green economy-based tourism.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between green marketing, perceived greenwashing, and consumer trust in the context of sustainable batik brands in Indonesia. The study focuses on the Cirebon batik industry, where sustainability-oriented marketing is increasingly used to communicate environmental responsibility, but may also create consumer skepticism when environmental claims are perceived as exaggerated, vague, or insufViciently supported by actual practices. Using a quantitative explanatory design, data were collected from 200 consumers who had purchased, used, or evaluated Cirebon batik products. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The Vindings show that green marketing has a positive and signiVicant relationship with consumer trust (β = 0.452, p < 0.001), indicating that credible environmental marketing communication can strengthen consumer conVidence in sustainable batik brands. However, green marketing also has a positive and signiVicant relationship with perceived greenwashing (β = 0.389, p < 0.001), suggesting that sustainability claims may increase skepticism when consumers perceive them as insufViciently transparent or veriViable. Perceived greenwashing has a negative and signiVicant relationship with consumer trust (β = –0.301, p < 0.001). The mediation analysis further conVirms that perceived greenwashing partially mediates the relationship between green marketing and consumer trust through a signiVicant negative indirect effect (β = –0.117, p = 0.001). These Vindings suggest that green marketing operates as a double-edged strategy in the traditional creative industry context. The study contributes to sustainability marketing literature by providing empirical evidence from Indonesia’s batik industry and by highlighting the importance of transparency, credibility, and consistency between environmental claims and actual sustainability practices.
