Abstract

This study aimed to develop the “Treasure Hunt Obstacle” game in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) learning to improve elementary school students’ gross motor skills. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model consisting of analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate stages. The research subjects consisted of elementary school students involved in small-scale and large-scale trials. Data collection techniques included observation, media expert validation questionnaires, learning expert validation questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. Before implementation, the student response instrument was tested for validity and reliability. The validity test results indicated that all instrument items were declared valid in both small-scale and large-scale trials, while the reliability test obtained a Cronbach Alpha value of 0.88, categorized as highly reliable. The media expert validation achieved a percentage of 90%, categorized as feasible, while learning experts obtained an average percentage of 92.50%, also categorized as feasible. Student responses in the small-scale trial reached 92.6%, while the large-scale trial reached 84.1%, with an average score of 88.35%, categorized as very good. The implementation results showed that the “Treasure Hunt Obstacle” game was able to increase students’ activeness, enthusiasm, and gross motor skills in PJOK learning. Therefore, the developed game is feasible to be used as a PJOK learning model in elementary schools. Keywords: ADDIE, Elementary School, Game, Gross Motor Skills, Physical Education

Abstract

Dollyo chagi is one of the most commonly used techniques in taekwondo competitions that require physical ability, specifically speed. This study aims to determine the impact and effectiveness of modified strength training using rubber resistance bands on improving the speed of the dollyo chagi kick among taekwondo athletes at the RTA Academy Dojang in Kendal Regency. This study employed an experimental method using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study sample consisted of 20 athletes aged 12–17 years, selected using purposive sampling. The research instrument used a 10-second dollyo chagi kicking speed test, measured in the number of kicks. The intervention was administered over 16 sessions, with a frequency of four times per week. Data analysis involved tests of normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing using a paired-sample t-test via the SPSS programme. The results of the study indicate that the data are normally distributed and homogeneous. The mean pretest score of 16.50 increased to 20.50 in the posttest. The results of the paired sample t-test showed a calculated t-value of -24.658 with a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results. It can therefore be concluded that training using modified rubber tyre resistance bands has a significant and effective impact on improving the speed of the dollyo chagi kick in taekwondo athletes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to obtain an appropriate theoretical basis related to simple and traditional game-based health education models for building healthy lifestyles among elementary school students. The research method used in this study is a literature review, in which the author collects data from previous studies related to the topic being researched. Data collection began with a literature search using several keywords, including “simple and traditional games,” “school health education,” “healthy lifestyle patterns among elementary school students,” and “play-based approach” on Google Scholar and Semantic Scholar. The collected journal articles were then read and processed to establish a theoretical foundation. The author identified 50 previous studies discussing the model of health education based on simple and traditional games to promote healthy lifestyles among elementary school students. Based on these findings, the author selected 15 (fifteen) journal articles as the primary review materials. The conclusion drawn from this study is that a health education model based on simple and traditional games is an effective and feasible strategy to implement, thereby fostering healthy lifestyle habits among elementary school students. Teachers and educators are encouraged to optimize the use of games as a learning medium to enhance students' knowledge, attitudes, and healthy behaviors, thereby fostering sustainable healthy lifestyles in the future.

Abstract

Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) program emphasizes trhe importance of continous and structurud physiscal development of athletes according to the stage of growth and maturity of the individual. Resistance training is one of the main components in supporting athletic sprint performance, especially in youth athletes. This study aims to review the effect of resistance training on physiscal adaptation that support improved sprint performance through the litterature riview method. A total 10 relevant scientific articles published between 2014-2024 were thematically analyzed to identify the impact of resistance training ion physical performance variables. The result of this study show that systematically planned resistance training can improve lower extremity muscle strength, sprint acceleration, speed, explosive power, and movement coordination. Methode such as Velocity-Based Training (VBRT), the use of Resistance Wearalbles, the combination od Squats with Sled Towing and Speed-Based Load Setting proved effective in improving sprint performance. Another advantage of resistance training is that it can reduce the risk of injury and support the long-term health of youth athletes. This study emphasizes the importance of including resistance training in LTAD programs for sprint athletes to achive peak performance and prevent the negative effcts of overtraining. Therefore , incorporating resistance training into youth sprint program sis essential for optimizing performance outcomes. Future studies should explore individualized resistance training protocols tailord to differant stages of athlete development.
