This paper discusses sources of Islamic public finance income based on the ideas of Abu Ubaid and Ad-Dawudi in the Al-Amwal book and makes them relevant to sources of income from Indonesian public finances. The writing uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach to analyze the thoughts of Abu Ubaid and Ad-Dawud. The results showed that the sources of public financial income according to Abu Ubaid are zakat, fa'I, and khumus. While according to Ad-Dawudi in the book Al-Amwal, the source of state income is divided into periodic income (jizyah and kharaj and usyur) non-income periodic (ghanimah, fa'I, and zakat). In general, it has relevance to public sources of finance in Indonesia, it's just that the system or amount is different. Kharaj, fai, usyur, khumus in the form of mining taxes, jizyah in the form of visas, ghanimah there are differences of opinion that can be equated with confiscated goods from the state due to violating the law while other opinions say they are irrelevant because they support war actions to acquire wealth, lastly, Zakat is still practiced in Indonesia and managed by BAZNAS and LAZ

Abstract

Purpose – This paper aims to analyze the effect of economic uncertainty on liquidity risk of Islamic banks in Indonesia by observing the impact of economic uncertainty (World Uncertainty Index), macroeconomic factors (GDP Growth and Inflation Rate), and bank-specific factors (CAR and ROA) on liquidity risk.Methodology – Using time-series quarterly data from OJK’s Islamic Banking Statistics 2015-2021, this research applies Auto-Regressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) and Error Correction Term (ECT) to see the long-term impact and short-term response of economic uncertainty, inflation rate, GDP growth, ROA and CAR on liquidity risk of Islamic Bank.Findings – This research finds that economic uncertainty has a positive and significant effect on liquidity risk in the short term and long term. It means the increase in uncertainty index caused by the crisis, war, or pandemic like nowadays will enhance the liquidity risk of Islamic banking. At the same time, the inflation rate has a significant negative effect on liquidity risk in the short-term and long term.Originality – This research uses a combination of macroeconomic variables and bank-specific factors, and the economic uncertainty variable from the World Uncertainty Index. In this case, one of the reasons for liquidity problems apart from fund management failure is unfavorable economic conditions. In addition, this study also provides several recommendations in maintaining banking liquidity risk.Research limitations – This study uses time-series data with a limited period (2015Q1-2021Q2). In addition, this uses cumulative data on Islamic banking in Indonesia; thus, it does not describe the conditions in each Islamic bank, although certainly there are some different conditions between each other. Therefore, it is hoped that studies will complement these limitations in the future.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to identify and analyze the determinants of liquidity risk in Islamic and conventional banking in Indonesia before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study uses a panel data approach to examine the relationship between liquidity risk with bank-specific and macroeconomic factors before and during the COVID-19 pandemic (2018-2021). By taking samples from 10 Islamic banks and 20 conventional banks operating in Indonesia, this study found that bank-specific factors consist of Capital Adequacy ratio (CAR), Return on Equity (ROE), and Non-Performing loans (NPL) or credit risk affect the liquidity of Syariah banking. While CAR and NPL have no significant effect on conventional bank liquidity, other bank-specific factors, namely ROE, have a considerable effect on the liquidity risk of conventional banking. Meanwhile, macroeconomic factors (GDP growth and inflation) did not affect the liquidity risk of the two banks. Meanwhile, the dummy variable shows no significant effect on liquidity risk in Islamic and conventional banks related to pandemic conditions. Thus, this research is expected to facilitate bankers in making decisions to improve the quality of liquidity management in the two banking systems. Abstract

This paper aims to analyze further the effect of zakat distribution and the growth of the halal industry on the HDI and unemployment rates in Indonesia, as well as to measure and analyze the direct and indirect effects of zakat distribution and the growth of the halal industry on the unemployment rate through the human development index in Indonesia. This research is quantitative research using a path analysis approach. The data sources used are secondary data sources in the form of 2014-2020 time series data published by BAZNAS, Salamgateway, and the Indonesian Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The results of this study show that the distribution of zakat and the growth of the halal industry have no significant effect on Indonesia's HDI. The distribution of zakat and HDI has a significant negative effect on the unemployment rate in Indonesia, while the halal industry positively influences the unemployment rate. The distribution of zakat and the halal industry's growth indirectly have no effect on the unemployment rate through the Human Development Index. The research is expected to contribute to the Indonesian government to use of zakat and the halal industry as an instrument to reduce Unemployment in Indonesia, namely by increasing regulations related to the effectiveness of zakat distribution and the halal industry so that the impact will be even more significant.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the opportunities and challenges and formulate strategies for developing halal media and entertainment in Indonesia. This research is a library research using a qualitative approach. The study was conducted by reading, reviewing, and analyzing various existing literatures, such as books, journals, news, and research findings. The study results indicate that Indonesia's main opportunities for halal media and entertainment include a significant market potential, global demand for Islamic media content, and the positive influence of social media and digital technology development. However, the industry also faces significant challenges, such as limited definitions and halal standardization, the perception that it limits creativity, the dominance of non-halal content, a lack of innovation, and challenges in filtering and monitoring digital content. To overcome these challenges and optimize potential, the proposed strategies include strengthening the regulatory framework and government policies, improving the quality and diversity of content, developing competent human resources, building an integrated industrial ecosystem, and educating and promoting halal media literacy to the public. Implementing these strategies is expected to drive the industry's growth, contribute to the national economy, and position Indonesia as a global Islamic economy hub.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the  accessibility of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) within the "Kerupuk Sanjai" sector to the People's Business Credit (KUR) initiative administered by PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, Payakumbuh Branch. Employing a descriptive qualitative methodology, the research delves into the authentic experiences of MSME operators in securing formal financial resources, with particular emphasis on informational transparency, procedural simplicity, and technical impediments. Data collection involved in-depth interviews and on-site observations. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results reveal that although KUR is strategically accessible, its utilization remains obstructed by a notable disparity between regulatory frameworks and practical application. Certain entrepreneurs perceive the credit as readily obtainable and advantageous for capital expansion, whereas others encounter difficulties stemming from intricate administrative demands and insufficient financial education. The study posits that augmenting KUR accessibility necessitates not merely competitive interest rates, but also streamlined bureaucratic processes and more assertive engagement by financial entities. Such enhancements are imperative to foster equitable credit dissemination, thereby bolstering the viability of the informal economy in Payakumbuh.

Abstract

Purpose: This study reconstructs Ibn Khaldun's economic thought to address the fundamental challenges presented by the era of Artificial Intelligence and Industry 5.0. It examines the intersection of labor value theory and the concept of ta'awun to critique the dehumanization of production. The research aims to develop a human-centric production framework that integrates technological advancements with Islamic economic ethical principles. Methods: This study uses a qualitative literature review based on a Contextual Hermeneutics approach. The main data comes from the Book of Muqaddimah by Ibn Khaldun, with additional information from the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2025 and the International Labour Organization (ILO) on Generative AI. The analysis combines content analysis and comparative analysis to compare employment dislocation statistics with spiritual concepts and Al-Kasb. Results : The findings indicate that prioritizing total efficiency and zero marginal costs through AI substitution may trigger a Khaldunian Traps, in which the removal of human labor undermines economic value and purchasing power. According to Khaldunian theory, labor constitutes the substance of value; therefore, complete automation generates a value void and diminishes social solidarity (Asabiyyah). Additionally, the "Human-in-the-Loop" model presents a paradox, as it often leads to dehumanization through exploitative microwork. This process undermines the dignity of Kasb and exacerbates structural inequalities, particularly affecting women in the administrative sector. Implications: Consequently, this study recommends that policymakers adopt Industry 5.0 frameworks and AI models aligned with Islamic ethics. Policies must strictly prioritize the development of "labor-augmenting" technologies to prevent social disparity and preserve the integrity of community solidarity.
