Abstract

The structural equation modelling (SEM) method has stronger predicting power than path analysis and multiple regression because SEM is able to analyze at the deepest level the variables or constructs studied. This literature review aimed to describe the use of structural equation modelling in research. In general, SEM can be used to analyze research models that have several independent (exogenous) and dependent (endogenous) variables, as well as moderating or intervening variables. SEM provides several benefits and advantages for researchers, including building research models with many variables, examining variables or constructs that cannot be observed or cannot be measured directly (unobserved), testing measurement errors (measurement errors) for observed variables or constructs ( observed) and confirmatory factor analysis. Broadly speaking, SEM methods can be classified into two types, namely covariance-based structural equation modelling (CB-SEM) and variance or component-based SEM (VB-SEM), which includes partial least squares (PLS) and generalized structured component analysis (GSCA). This literature review aimed to describe the use of structural equation modelling in research.

Abstract

The relationship between variables in structural equation modeling (SEM) forms a structural model. This structural model can be explained through structural equations, such as in regression analysis. This structural equation describes the prediction of the latent (exogenous) independent variable on the latent (endogenous) dependent variable. Researchers who use analysis with structural equation models need to know whether the model built with empirical data has a unique value or not so that the model can be estimated. If the model does not have a unique value, then the model cannot be identified (unidentified). The cause of a model is categorized as unidentified because the information contained in empirical data is not sufficient to produce a unique solution in calculating model estimation parameters. This literature review aims to describe the process of data analysis using SEM.

Abstract

This review aimed to discuss legal reviews related to physician malpractice in medical practice. Malpractice is carrying out a profession wrongly or wrongly, which can only form legal responsibility for the maker if it results in a loss determined or regulated by law. Malpractice can occur in carrying out all kinds of professions, including the medical profession. Mistakes in carrying out the medical profession will form criminal or civil legal liability (depending on the nature of the consequences of the losses incurred) containing three main aspects as an inseparable unit, namely treatment that is not according to the norm, done with culpa and causing losses in law. Regarding the doctor not providing services in accordance with professional standards, which then results in disability or death of the patient, this doctor has violated the patient's right to obtain such humane service, so the patient has the right to sue the doctor concerned.

Abstract

Introduction: Bullying is a pervasive issue among Indonesian youth, with far-reaching consequences for victims, perpetrators, and society. This study aimed to identify risk factors associated with bullying tendencies and develop a predictive scoring system to aid early identification and intervention. Methods: A mixed-methods approach was employed. A nationwide survey was conducted with 3,500 Indonesian youth (aged 12-18) to collect data on sociodemographic factors, family environment, peer relationships, personal traits, and bullying behaviors. Qualitative interviews were conducted with 30 participants to gain deeper insights into their experiences. Risk factors were analyzed using regression models, and a predictive scoring system was developed using a machine learning algorithm. Results: The study identified several significant risk factors for bullying tendencies, including male gender, low socioeconomic status, exposure to violence at home, poor parent-child communication, negative peer influence, low self-esteem, and high impulsivity. The developed predictive scoring system demonstrated good accuracy in identifying individuals at high risk of engaging in bullying behavior. Conclusion: This study provides valuable insights into the complex interplay of risk factors contributing to bullying tendencies in Indonesian youth. The predictive scoring system offers a promising tool for early identification and targeted intervention, potentially mitigating the negative consequences of bullying.

Abstract

Introduction: Medical professionals in Indonesia experience high levels of stress, increasing their risk for mental health problems and suicidal behavior. Culturally appropriate suicide prevention programs are critical to address this issue. This study aimed to develop and evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of a culturally adapted suicide prevention program for Indonesian medical professionals. Methods: This mixed-methods study had two phases. Phase 1 involved program development, adapting an existing evidence-based suicide prevention program using a Delphi method with Indonesian mental health experts (n=10) and cultural consultants (n=5). Phase 2 comprised a pilot implementation of the program with 30 medical professionals. Quantitative data on program feasibility (attendance, completion rates) and acceptability (satisfaction surveys, qualitative feedback) were collected and analyzed. Results: The Delphi method resulted in a culturally adapted program incorporating Indonesian values related to collectivism, family support, religious beliefs, and stigma associated with mental health. Pilot implementation showed high attendance (87%) and program completion rates (93%). Participants expressed high satisfaction with the program's content, cultural relevance, and delivery format. Qualitative feedback emphasized the importance of peer support, spiritual integration, and addressing workplace stressors. Conclusion: This study provides preliminary evidence for the feasibility and acceptability of a culturally sensitive suicide prevention program for Indonesian medical professionals. Further research is needed to evaluate the program's effectiveness in reducing suicidal ideation and behavior.

Abstract

Community empowerment program in literacy aims to provide training and coaching in writing literary works for students. This activity is an effort to foster students' critical literacy skills, primarily through writing skills. Also, this activity is a way to bring schools and students closer to literature. The implementation method, Community Service, is carried out by providing training and mentoring on an ongoing basis. The training is conducted for three days for students. This training is carried out in two ways, namely in-class and outclass. In-class training is conducted to provide students with the same understanding of writing literary works. Simultaneously, outclass training is conducted to hone students' sensitivity, critical power, and intuition to capture any existing problems around them to be used as a material in writing literary works. Likewise, with students' writing skills increasing and better, this is evidenced by the results of literary works that they make in the form of an anthology of poetry. The poems they made was varied in typography, theme, and contents. The students were enthusiastic and enthusiastic in participating in the activity. The activities of fostering literary writing in schools can help students and school parties better recognize literacy, especially in literary works' authorship. On the other hand, fostering the writing of literary works in schools can help teachers form the School Literacy Programme in their respective schools, bearing in mind is still very important in the school environment, so there is a need for sweet activities to increase student competency and love in reading and writing.

Abstract

A good literary work can provide information about various kinds of community life, including life-related to religiosity. Literary works are closely related to religiosity, and because of that, various works appear showing the religiosity of society, one of which is the Javanese. Modern Indonesian literary works that illustrate this are the collection of short stories from Umi Kalsum by Djamil Suherman, the lyrical prose Pengakuan Pariyem by Linus Suryadi AG, and the novel Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk by Ahmad Tohari. Each of these works represents the diversity of Javanese society. The collection of short stories from Umi Kalsum shows the religious side of the community called the santri, who are so obedient in carrying out their worship. The lyrical prose of Pariyem's confession provides information on how a babu is so resigned to seeing life, but in her soul holds the wisdom of Kejawen. Meanwhile, Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk describes the Javanese people who worship the spirits of their ancestors. Even though they have different religions, they basically want harmony. Javanese people who live in santri enjoy harmony when they live with strong Islamic values. The Javanese people of the Gunung Kidul area live in harmony if they are always accept and see life as it is according to its Javanese nature. The Dukuh Paruk community attains harmony that originates from the worship of the spirit of Ki Secamenggala
