Abstract

This research was motivated by the fact that most students in class VIII B of SMPN 1 Tarogong Kaler still appeared passive during the learning process, as the Civics (PKn) teacher at the school still employed the lecture method. The purpose of this research was to determine the active participation of students in class VIII B of SMPN 1 Tarogong Kaler in the Civics subject. The research method used was an experimental method with a One-Group Post-Test Only Design. Data collection techniques included observation and questionnaires. The sampling method used in this study was non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling technique. The population of the study consisted of all eighth-grade students, totaling 427 individuals, and the sample used was class VIII B with 40 students. The results of the study can be summarized as follows: (1) The implementation of the cooperative learning model Listening Team in the Civics subject increased students' active participation by creating a more interactive and enjoyable learning atmosphere, improving students' memory and collaboration, thus resulting in more effective learning. (2) There was a significant change in students’ active participation after applying the Listening Team cooperative learning model, as indicated by the regression test results showing a regression coefficient of 0.474 or 47.4%, meaning that there was an increase in students’ active participation after the model was implemented. (3) There was a significant influence of the implementation of the Listening Team cooperative learning model on students' active participation. This was evidenced by the analysis results showing a significance level lower than 0.05, which means that the application of the Listening Team model had an effect on the active participation of students in class VIII B of SMPN 1 Tarogong Kaler. Abstract

This study analyzes the implications of differentiated learning strategies on students’ learning outcomes in Civics Education (PPKn) for grade X at SMAN 2 Garut. Differentiated learning is understood as an approach that adjusts content, process, and product of learning to students’ readiness, interests, and learning profiles, so that each learner receives appropriate support and challenge. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design. The experimental class received differentiated learning, while the control class experienced conventional instruction. Data on learning outcomes were collected through pre-test and post-test instruments that had been validated, and analyzed using normality, homogeneity, and independent samples t-tests, complemented with N-gain scores to measure improvement. The results showed that the post-test mean score of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class, and the significance value of 0.017 indicated a statistically significant difference between both groups. The N-gain of the experimental class was categorized as moderately effective, while that of the control class was categorized as less effective. These findings indicate that differentiated learning strategies contribute positively to improving students’ learning outcomes in PPKn. The study suggests that teachers need to strengthen the implementation of differentiated learning by systematically mapping students’ characteristics and designing varied tasks, groupings, and assessments that align with Kurikulum Merdeka. The results are expected to become a reference for schools and teachers in developing learning practices that are more adaptive, inclusive, and oriented toward student needs. Future research can explore differentiated learning in other school subjects. Keywords: Differentiated Learning, Learning Outcomes, Civics Education

Abstract

The activeness of students in PPKn learning in class IX C SMPN 5 Tarogong Kidul is still low, shown by the lack of participation in discussions, asking questions, and dominance of lecture methods. This research aims to increase student activity through a cooperative learning model of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) type. The research uses the Classroom Action Research (PTK) approach with the DDAER model, carried out in two cycles. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The activity of students increased from 33.3% in the pre-cycle to 54.2% in the first cycle, and 87.5% in the second cycle. Improvements occurred in all indicators, especially in questioning, discussion, and group cooperation. The implementation of STAD by teachers also increased from 83.3% to 100%. The application of the STAD model is consistently effective in increasing students' activeness in PPKn learning, both individually and in groups.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model assisted by Canva on increasing students' creativity in making posters in the Pancasila Education subject at SMAN 11 Garut. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of the non-equivalent control group design. The study population was all students of grade XI, while the sample was determined through purposive sampling, namely class XI.10 as the experimental class and XI.4 as the control class with a total of 40 students each. The experimental class received PjBL learning assisted by Canva, while the control class used PjBL manually. Creativity data were collected through a creativity questionnaire and poster project assessment using a rubric. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, normality tests, paired sample t-tests, independent sample t-tests, and N-Gain calculations. The results showed that the average creativity of the experimental class increased from 66.23% to 80.62%, a 14.39% increase, while the control class only increased from 67.21% to 73.83%, a 6.62% increase. The average poster project score of the experimental class (91.09; highly creative category) was higher than that of the control class (77.66; creative category). Statistical tests and N-Gain showed that Canva-assisted PjBL was more effective than manual PjBL in enhancing student creativity. Therefore, the Canva-assisted PjBL model is worthy of recommendation as an alternative learning strategy for creative project-based Pancasila Education in high schools.
