Abstract

Waturaka village is one of the village located in Kelimutu District, Ende regency, East Nusa Tenggara provinces. Waturaka villages is an example of the application of the community-based ecotourism in Ende district. Ecotourism or ecotourism is one of the activities of tourism that is environmentally oriented by prioritizing aspects of nature conservation, aspects of socio-economic empowerment of local communities and aspects of learning and education. The development of ecotourism affects people in ecological, economic and socio-cultural aspects. The aim of this research to analyze ecological, economic and socio-cultural conditions in Waturaka Village after community-based ecotourism applications in this researt is changes. The total of respondents in the data collection was 52 peoples purposevely selection. The research method used descriptive method by analyzing respondents' answers, the results are tabulated in the form of frequency tables to present ecological, economic and socio-cultural influences with the existence of community-based ecotourism management. The analysis tools used are validity and reliability tests to test questionnaires and statistical T tests to test hypotheses, the calculation in processing this data is assisted by Microsoft Exel program and SPSS 16 saftware. T-test results of economic criteria show that the value of tcount (45.3673) > ttable (2.007) so that HI is accepted and H0 is rejected, ecological criteria tcount (4.3111) > ttable (2.007) so that Hl is accepted and H0 is rejected, socio-cultural criteria tcount (18.8832) > ttable (2.007) so Hl is accepted and HO is rejected. From the results of the t test as a whole shows that there are very significant differences in ecological, economic and socio-cultural conditions before and after the development of community-based ecotourism in Waturaka Village. The development of community-based ecotourism is precisely implemented in Waturaka Village, as evidenced by the results of hypothesis testing showing that after the existence of ecotourism there are changes in ecological, economic and socio-cultural conditions that are better than before the existence of ecotourism.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tutupan lahan mangrove dan perubahan tutupan lahan mangrove Pantai Utara Kabupaten Sikka dari tahun 1988, 1998, 2008 sampai tahun 2018, berbasis Sistem Informasi Geografis dan mengetahuiperubahan kepadatan tutupan lahan mangrove di Pantai Utara Kabupaten Sikka, berbasis Sistem Informasi Geografis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari dua metode antara lain metode OBIA (Object Based ImageSegmentation) dan NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan disepanjang jalur pantai utara Kabupaten Sikka selama bulan Januari sampai April 2019. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa pada tahun 1988-1998tutupan mangrove tersebut berkurang seluas 130 ha menjadi 2768 ha, tahun 1998- 2008 berkurang seluas 1376 ha menjadi 1392 ha, tahun 2008-2018 meningkat sebanyak 1061 ha menjadi 2.453 ha. Faktor pemicu yang terjadi jalur pantai utaraKabupaten Sikka pada kurung waktu tersebut antara lain terjadi tsunami yang berkekuatan 6,5 SR, abrasi dan angin/badai, serta peningkatan luasan mangrove disebabkan oleh penerapan sistem hybrid engineering oleh masyarakat setempatbersama WII (Wetlands International Indonesia)

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara dengan tingkat keanekaragaman yang tinggi, diantaranya dalam kategori burung tercatat 1.771 jenis burung yang ditemukan diwilayah indonesia dan diantaranya terdapat 563 yang dilindungi. Kecamatan Kelimutu merupakan salah satu kecamatan yang terdapat sebuah Taman Nasional yang disebut Taman Nasional Kelimutu. Didalam Taman Nasional Kelimutu, terdapat areal Jalur Tracking Wologai. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 2 bulan dari bulan Maret-April 2019 dengan menggunakan metode daftar jenis MacKinnon dan indeks Keanekaragaman ShannonWienner.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan di Jalur Tracking Wologai terdapat 36 jenis burung dari 20 suku. Dari 36 jenis burung tersebut terdapat 5 jenis burung yang dilindungi dan 5 jenis burung endemik Flores Jenis burung yang paling banyak yang ditemukan dilokasi penelitian adalah Perkici Pelangi sebanyak 18 individu sedangkan jenis burung yang paling sedikit ditemukan adalah Gelatik Batu Kelabu sebanyak 1 individu. Keanekaragaman jenis burung yang terdapat di Jalur Tracking Wologai adalah 3.37 dengan tingkat keanekaragaman hayati yang tinggi

Abstract

Berdasarkan IUCN red list, sejak beberapa tahun terakhir Rusa timor (Rusa timorensis) termasuk dalam kategori vulnerable (rentan). Upaya konservasi perlu dilakukan untuk mempertahankan populasi Rusa timor (Rusa timorensis) baik secara in-situ maupun ek-situ. Salah satu kawasan konservasi ek-situ Rusa timor yang ada di Nusa Tenggara Timur adalah Stasiun Penangkaran Bu’at Soe. Komponen habitat Rusa timor (Rusa timorensis) yang perlu mendapatkan perhatian lebih adalah pakan. Komponen habitat tersebut harus diperhatikan supaya kebutuhan hewan terpenuhi sehingga dapat hidup secara layak dan dapat membantu keberhasilan konservasi Rusa timor. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ketersediaan dan preferensi pakan Rusa timor yang ada di stasiun penelitian bu’at kabupaten Timor Tengah Selatan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari-Maret 2019. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan melakukan analisis vegetasi untuk ketersediaan pakan sedangkan untuk preferensi pakan dengan menimbang dan mencatat sisa setiap jenis pakan yang tidak dimakan rusa, setelah data diperoleh, data di analisis secara deskriptif dan diolah menggunakan statistika One-Way Anova dan Uji lanjut BNJ. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa Ketersediaan pakan Rusa timor (Rusa timorensis) yang tumbuh secara alami di Stasiun Penelitian Bu’at memiliki keanekaragaman yang tinggi berdasarkan analisis vegetasi yaitu Pennisetum purpureum, Leucaena leucocephala, Gliricidia sepium, Sesbania grandiflora, Ubi hutan, Senna alata, Eucalypthus urophylla, Calliandra, Acacia leucophloea, dan Chromolaena odorata. Namun berdasarkan pengamatan dan wawancara diketahui bahwa tidak semua pakan yang tumbuh alami dalam penangkaran dimakan rusa misalnya Casuarinaceae. Preferensi pakan Rusa timor (Rusa timorensis) di Stasiun Penelitian Bu’at yang paling tertinggi yaitu Rumput Gajah (Pennisetum purpureum) dengan rata-rata komsumsi 14 kg/hari diikuti Lamtoro (Leucaena leucocephala) yaitu 12,40 kg, Jati Putih (Gmelina arborea) yaitu 9,8 kg, Kabesak Putih (Acacia leucophloea) 6,8 kg, Turi (Sesbania grandiflora) 6,4 kg sedangkan yang jenis pakan yang paling sedikit dikomsumsi Rusa timor adalah beringin (Ficus benjamina) dengan rata-rata komsumsi rusa yaitu 5,6 kg/hari.

Abstract

Taman Wisata Alam 17 Pulau merupakan salah satu kawasan konservasi yang berada di Pulau Flores. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: bagaimana upaya pelestarian Taman Wisata Alam 17 Pulau Riung melalui peningkatan kualitasmasyarakat (studi kasus Desa Nangamese, Kecamatan Riung, Kabupaten Ngada, Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur.Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Nangamese, Kecamatan Riung, Kabupaten Ngada, Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur menggunakanmetode kualitatif yang dilaksanakan pada Juli 2019 – Agustus 2019. Data yang dikumpulkan berupa data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, kuesioner terhadap 81 responden yang ditentukan berdasarkan teknik purposive sampling dan data sekunder diperoleh dari instansi terkait. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis SWOT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi yang terpilih dalam upaya pelestarian Taman Wisata Alam 17 Pulau Riung melalui peningkatan kualitas masyarakat adalah strategi SO yang memanfaatkan seluruh kekuatan untuk merebut dan memanfaatkan peluang sebesar-besarnya : 1) Melakukan pemberdayaan, penyuluhan agar enumbuhkan dan meningkatkan kualitas masyarakat tentangnya pelestarian alam. 2) Menciptakan kerja sama antar masyarakat lokal, pelaku wisata, pengelola Taman Wisata Alam 17 Pulau Riung dan pemerintah secara optimal. 3)Memanfaatkan potensi alam yang ada di Taman Wisata Alam 17 Pulau Riung untuk menarik para wisatawan berkunjung atau berekreasi di kawasan Taman Wisata Alam 17 Pulau Riung. 4) Membuat kebijakan dan peraturan yang khusus konservasi dan perlindungan (fauna, flora, dan ekosistemnya) dalam pengembangan objek wisata.

Abstract

This research aims to know the volume, location, type, potential, way and factors that influence the firewood consumption of the villagers. Data collection is conducted by observation, interview and literature study. The factors that influence firewood consumption (numbers of family member, income, outcome, duration and distance) are analyzed with multiple linear aggression. The hypothesis assessment is conducted with analysis of variance (ANOVA) and software used is SPSS16. The research shows thatannual firewood consumption of the villagers is approximately 38.520 SM/capita/year, equally 107,856 million m3 per year. The wood types that often used by respondents to cook are Lamtoro (Leucaena Leucocephala), Teak (Tectona grandis), Mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla), Schleichera (Schleichera oleosa), Tamarind (Tamarindus Indica L), Banyan, Gamal (Gliricidia sepium), Candlenut (Dipterocarpus sp), Mango (Magnifera indica). The firewood is partly taken from garden and house yard by picking up the fallen braches that have been dried up. The regression analysis model and factors that influence firewood consumption follow the equation of Y= -0.089 + 0.440X1 -0,00000008629X2–0,0000000211X3 + 0.272X4+ 0.000 X5. The variable that clearly influences is variable X1 (the number of family member), however, all X factors influence one another ifsimultaneously assessed. The determination co-efficiency (R2) is 0,546 or 54.6 % which means influence of independent variable towards dependent variable in this research is 54.6% while the rest 45.4% is influenced by other factors outside the variable of this research

Abstract

Manipo Nature Park is one of nature conservation areas and government administratively included in the area of Enoraen Village, East Amarasi District, Kupang Regency. This study is aimed to 1) to determine the condition of land cover and multy temporal in 1992, 2005 and 2018 in the Mangrove Forest Area in Manipo Nature Park , 2) Utiliization and how to operate GIS to analyze land coverchanges in Mangrove forest area in Manipo Nature Park. This research was conducted in February – April 2019 using the method of Object Based Image Segmentation ( OBIS) and Normalize Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). In the result of the analysis using the OBIS method, it was found that the image analysis in 1992, 2005, and 2018 revealed that the area of land cover rose and fell changes in the condition of Mangrovevegetation can also be referred to as succession and then to determine the level of density using NDVI method 2018, namely the total area of Mangrove cover with dense land cover class is only 0,02% of the total land area of 399 Ha and the area of cover Mangrove lands with the class of land cover rarely increase with a total area of 332.07 or 83,31 % of the total Mangrove area in 2018

Abstract

Forest Health Monitoring (FHM) is a forest monitoring action to analyze the condition of forest stands. The purpose of this study was to assess the health level of teak stands, namely by indicators of tree damage and tree crown conditions and to find out information about limiting factors that affect the health level of teak forest stands. Collecting data using the sample method, forest health monitoring (FHM) method of 3 (three) cluster plots with a total of 3 Ha of observations from a total area of ​​138 Ha. The data collected are primary data and secondary data. Based on the results of the study, the most common damage to trees was termite nests with a percentage of 25% and the lowest was broken roots with a percentage of 1% while for the location of the most damage was the top of the tree trunk with a percentage of 32%, and the lowest namely the lower part of the tree and the top of the tree trunk with a percentage of 0%. Whereas for tree crown damage with each VCR value, namely for a good VCR value with 90 trees (12%), moderate VCR value with 456 trees (54% and VCR value) low with 220 trees (29%) and there is no VCR value 4. Based on the research, there is a lot of damage because the research was carried out in the dry season so that a lot of damage was found where the trees shed their leaves to reduce evaporation so that it could affect the condition of the tree crown. So that in order to maintain the health of the forest, the authorities and the people living in the Jati Udukama forest area will continue to preserve the forest.

Abstract

This research is about the Study of the Daily Behavior of the Long Tailed Monkey (Macaca fascicularis) in the Forest Area of ​​the Ranamese Resort, Ruteng Nature Tourism Park, East Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. The purpose of this study was to determine the daily behavior of long-tailed monkeys in the forest area of ​​Ranamese Resort, Ruteng Nature Tourism Park, East Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. This research has been carried out during July-September 2020. The study began with collecting the location points of the long-tailed monkeys found using GPS Garmin 64S in three time periods with an interval of 2 hours, namely in period I (at 06.00/08.00 WITA), period II (at 10.00/12.00 WITA). , period III (15.00/17.00 WITA) accompanied by observations of the number of behaviors of long-tailed monkeys (Macaca fascicularis) using the focal animal sampling method. The data obtained were analyzed using non-parametric statistics with the Kruskal Wallis H test. The results showed that the total number of direct encounter points of long-tailed monkeys was 363 points. The highest number of direct encounter points for long-tailed monkeys was in period I (06/08 WITA) with a total of 160 points.The daily behavior frequency of long-tailed monkeys in the Forest Area of ​​Ranamese Resort, Ruteng Nature Tourism Park, East Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, namely the behavior of moving / moving with a number of 973 (28%) followed by eating behavior 855 (25%), social 706 (21%), agonistic 269 (8%), grooming 251(7%), resting 233 (7%), sexual/mating 134 (4%), nesting 0 (0%). The most dominant behavior of moving/moving while the lowest behavior is making nests. The results of Kruskal Wallis' H test showed that there was a very significant difference between different types of behavior categories (P < 0.05).
