Abstract

This study examines how advertising design and advertising intensity influence consumer awareness of the Skintific skincare brand on social media. The research problem arises from the growing competition in the beauty industry and the need for brands to build recognition through effective digital communication strategies. Advertising design is conceptualized as a persuasive marketing communication component that conveys messages through visual elements, typography, colors, and layout, while advertising intensity refers to the frequency of message exposure that reinforces consumer recall. Consumer awareness is positioned within the cognitive stage of the Hierarchy of Effects model, where individuals recognize and recall a brand before progressing to affective and behavioral responses. This research employs a quantitative explanatory survey involving 270 respondents aged 15–49 years in Batam City, selected through random sampling. Data were collected using an online Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed with multiple linear regression using SPSS. The results indicate that both advertising design and advertising intensity have significant and positive effects on consumer awareness, either partially or simultaneously, demonstrating that Skintific’s social media advertising strategy effectively increases consumer brand recognition.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has prompted schools to update not only their learning methods but also their administrative and organizational systems, including archive management. However, many school organizations still rely on manual archiving methods, which often lead to inefficiency, data loss, and limited access to information. This Community Service (PKM) activity was held at SMAK Immanuel Batam to enhance students’ skills in digital archive management, digital law awareness, and the use of Google Sites as a practical archiving platform. The program took place over five sessions during January–February 2025 and involved members of the SMAK Immanuel Student Council aged 16–18 years. The approaches included lectures, guided discussions, hands-on practice, and evaluations conducted before, during, and after the activity. The results showed that participants were enthusiastic and actively engaged throughout the program. Students demonstrated better understanding of digital archiving concepts, legal and ethical issues related to digital information, and practical skills in using Google Sites for archive management. Overall, the PKM activity helped improve students’ digital skills, organizational communication, and ethical awareness, supporting the growth of responsible, digitally literate student organizations.

Abstract

Using social media in marketing strategies offers consumers convenience, making transactions more effective and efficient. Today, social media is not just used for social purposes but also for business and commerce, known as digital marketing, to expand marketing efforts. Besides selecting an appropriate marketing strategy, budget planning is crucial; without proper planning, it’s difficult to identify profits and make the best use of financial resources in offers or activity proposals. Preparing the RAB (Budget Plan) can be challenging, especially for large-scale activities, given their scale and cost. This coaching includes material on marketing communication, digital marketing, RAB, and Google Sites, delivered to SMA Putra Batam students. Methods include lectures and practical exercises, ensuring students understand the material, can discuss, present, and speak confidently in real situations. Evaluation of the activity measures' achievement and guidance for future improvements, conducted before, during, and after. Initially planned for five days, the activity was condensed into a single day with five sessions, attended by Year 10 IPS students in the computer lab at SMA Putra Batam Batu Aji. The Google Sites session trained students to create websites using Google Sites—an easy, quick, free tool with templates. Students were tasked with designing promotional websites creatively, supported by examples of digital marketing and simple budget planning. As a token of appreciation, they received goodie bags from volunteers after answering questions.

Abstract

This community service initiative addresses the pressing need for comprehensive digital capacity-building among adolescent student leaders through an integrated training program at SMAK Immanuel Batam. Extending beyond simple legal lectures, this 5-week course offers a multidisciplinary approach built on three main pillars: Digital Legal Literacy (Cyber Law), Structural Leadership Communication, and Practical Digital Archiving with Google Sites. Its goal is to enable Grade XI and XII Student Council (OSIS) representatives to confidently navigate digital organizational environments responsibly and avoid legal issues under Law Number 1 of 2024 (The Amended ITE Law). Conducted over five sessions, the program used interactive lectures, real-world cybercrime case studies, and hands-on activities where students created digital archive repositories. The initiative led to a noticeable change in attitude, greatly enhancing students' understanding of data privacy and digital law boundaries. Feedback showed the program’s immediate practical benefits, with participants gaining proficiency in managing cloud documents systematically. Despite challenges like limited legal knowledge among youth, the program's results indicate a positive trend towards developing law-abiding, digitally skilled student leaders. It is recommended that schools embed this comprehensive model into their annual leadership curricula.
