The study applied a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The research subjects were 42 elderly  individuals selected using a total sampling technique. Data collection was conducted using questionnaires and attendance lists, and then analyzed using the Chi-square test. The study findings revealed that most respondents received family support (59,5%), but the majority of elderly were classified as less actively involved in Posyandu activities (69,0%). Statistical analysis resulted in a p-value of 0.060. Statistical analysis yielded a p-value of 0.060, indicating no significant relationship between family assistance and elderly participation. It is recommended that families continue to provide full support, while posyandu cadres reinforce education to families about the importance of elderly involvement in posyandu programs.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, causing damage to many body organs, such as the lungs, bones, brain membranes, stomach membranes, intestines, and even the urinary tract. To obtain the number of suspected pulmonary tuberculosis patients examined using the Rapid Molecular Test at the UPTD Siabu Health Center Laboratory, from April to May 2025. This type of research is a descriptive analytical study. The results of the study showed that 16.1% (30 out of 187) of patients were confirmed positive for Rifampicin-Sensitive TB through the RMT. The distribution of positive cases was higher in males (16.7%) compared to females (15.2%). The age group ≥40 years had the highest number of TB cases (76.7% of total positives). Respondents with smoking habits showed a higher proportion of TB cases (63.3%) compared to non-smokers. Work as a farmer dominates positive cases (63.3%). In conclusion, these findings support the expansion of TCM implementation in primary healthcare facilities and emphasize the importance of gender-based and socio-environmental approaches in TB control strategies.

Abstract

A health laboratory is a healthcare facility that conducts examinations, analyses, and tests on human biological samples or non-biological materials to help identify diseases, determine the causes of health disorders, assess the health conditions of individuals or communities, and detect factors that can affect health status. Screening for sexually transmitted infections is a health check carried out to detect the presence of sexually transmitted infections in someone, even before symptoms appear, so that treatment can be done earlier to prevent complications and further transmission. For pregnant women, screening for sexually transmitted infections plays an important role in maintaining the health of both mother and baby and supporting efforts to reduce maternal and infant morbidity and mortality. The goal of this community service is to understand the relationship of health laboratory management in supporting sexual transmitted disease screening programs at pregnant women at Aek Natolu Health Center. The community service activity was carried out using a participatory approach based on health checks and education. Education was provided on the importance of laboratory tests during pregnancy, the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, and the importance of compliance with routine antenatal check-ups. This activity involved 25 participants, consisting of all pregnant women at Aek Natolu Health Center. The results of the examination showed that out of 25 respondents, 23 respondents (92%) did not have sexually transmitted infections, while 2 respondents (8%) had sexually transmitted infections. The results of this activity show that health laboratory management plays an important role in supporting early detection of sexually transmitted infections in pregnant women, which can serve as a basis for providing education, follow-up, and preventive efforts to improve the quality of maternal and child health services
