Abstract

Guidance and Counseling (BK) is an important service in the world of education which aims to help students develop their potential, overcome problems and improve the quality of their personal, social, learning and career lives. In order for this goal to be achieved optimally, various supporting activities are needed which are preventive, curative and developmental in nature. This research aims to analyze the implementation of guidance and counseling (BK) support activities in schools as part of efforts to improve the quality of services to students. The method used is literature study, by analyzing various relevant sources, such as journals, books and previous research reports related to the implementation of BK. The population in this study includes secondary level formal education institutions in Indonesia, with a focus on schools that have implemented the BK program. The research results show that the success of the BK program is greatly influenced by the availability of facilities, the competence of teaching staff, and support from the school. However, the main challenge found was the lack of special time allocation and lack of understanding by some parties regarding the importance of guidance and counseling in the school environment. This research emphasizes the importance of implementing guidance and counseling support activities that are integrated with the learning system to create an educational environment that is student-centered and supports student development academically, emotionally and socially.

Abstract

This research examines the application of differentiated learning to the implementation of classical guidance services in an effort to increase student learning motivation in the classroom. Learning motivation is an important factor that influences students' active participation, persistence and academic achievement. However, many students experience low motivation to learn, which can be caused by internal factors such as low interest and self-confidence, as well as external factors such as unattractive teaching methods and a learning environment that is not conducive. The differentiated learning model is an approach that emphasizes the use of different learning strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of each individual student. This approach states that each student has different or unique learning readiness, interests and learning styles, in this case involving three components, namely content, processes and products in the learning environment so that effective learning must be responsive to these differences. This study examines the application of differentiated learning models in the context of classical guidance. The aim of the research is to analyze the application of differentiated learning models in increasing students' diverse learning motivation. Using a qualitative case study approach, this research involved classroom observations, in-depth interviews, and analysis of learning documents. The research results show that the application of the differentiated learning model in classical guidance contributes positively to increasing student learning motivation, which is reflected in increased motivation, active participation and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe students' aggressive behavior and examine the effectiveness of group guidance services based on behavior modification using the Art Therapy drawing technique in reducing aggressive behavior. The study employed an experimental approach with a Single Subject Research (SSR) A–B design, involving eight junior high school students who met the research criteria. The participants exhibited aggressive behaviors, including both physical and verbal aggression, such as engaging in verbal conflicts, making threats, displaying hostility, mocking peers, hitting or pushing others, and damaging other people's belongings. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire to measure the level of aggressive behavior before and after the intervention. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test and the N-Gain Test. The findings revealed a statistically significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores, with a significance value of 0.012 (p < 0.05), indicating that the intervention effectively reduced students' aggressive behavior. All participants showed a decrease in their aggression scores, demonstrating consistent behavioral improvement. Furthermore, the N-Gain result of 66% indicated that the intervention was moderately effective. The Art Therapy drawing technique proved to help students express their emotions constructively, improve self-control, and reduce aggressive tendencies. However, the intervention's effectiveness was not yet optimal due to internal and external factors affecting the participants. Therefore, strengthening the intervention through increased service intensity and greater environmental support is recommended to achieve more optimal and sustainable outcomes.
