Abstract

This study aims to describe parental parenting styles and their relationship with the development of religious and moral values in children aged 5–6 years in a Raudhatul Athfal Group B setting. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed with 15 children and their parents as respondents. Data were collected through observation, parenting style questionnaires, and documentation. The independent variable was parental parenting style (authoritarian, democratic, permissive), while the dependent variable was the development of religious and moral values measured across three indicators: politeness, habituation of worship practices, and accuracy in imitating prayer movements. The findings show two dominant parenting styles democratic (60%) and authoritarian (40%). Increases in developmental categories were observed across the three indicators between the first and second observations, with the most notable improvements occurring among children raised with democratic parenting (e.g., 67% achieving the “Very Well Developed” category for politeness; 56% for worship habituation; and 56% for prayer movement accuracy). Pearson correlation analysis revealed a significant negative relationship between parenting style and the development of religious moral values (r = –0.636; p = 0.011), indicating that more democratic parenting is associated with better outcomes compared to authoritarian parenting. The study concludes that democratic parenting characterized by balanced rules, modeling, and open communication more effectively supports the development of politeness, worship routines, and accurate prayer movements in early childhood.

Abstract

Background. Public understanding and awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are essential for ensuring effective national implementation, promoting community participation, and strengthening shared responsibility for sustainable development. Indonesia, as one of the earliest adopters of the SDGs, continues to integrate the goals into national policies, local governance, and development programs. Despite these efforts, limited empirical research has examined the extent of public awareness, perceived relevance, and engagement with the SDGs across the Indonesian population. A national survey is therefore needed to assess public perception and identify gaps in knowledge that may hinder broader societal support for sustainability initiatives. Purpose. This study aims to evaluate the level of public awareness, understanding, and attitudes toward the SDGs in Indonesia by analyzing demographic influences, information sources, and perceived national priorities. The research also seeks to identify barriers to SDG engagement and provide recommendations for enhancing public participation in sustainability initiatives. Method. A nationwide quantitative survey was conducted involving 1,462 respondents selected through stratified random sampling to represent Indonesia’s major demographic groups. Data were collected through structured online and offline questionnaires measuring awareness levels, perceived importance of SDGs, and individual behavioral commitments. Descriptive statistics, cross-tabulations, and regression analysis were used to examine patterns and predictors of SDG awareness. Results. Findings reveal that overall awareness of the SDGs is moderate, with substantial variation across age, education level, and urban–rural residence. Respondents identify climate action, poverty reduction, and quality education as the most relevant SDGs for Indonesia, while awareness of goals related to marine ecosystems and responsible consumption remains low. Regression results indicate that education level, media exposure, and civic engagement significantly predict SDG awareness. Conclusion. The study concludes that strengthening SDG literacy through public campaigns, educational integration, and community-based programs is essential for advancing sustainable development efforts in Indonesia.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of TikTok as a dominant social media platform has transformed how Islamic messages circulate and how young Muslims construct religious identity. The rise of TikTok preachers—often young, charismatic, and digitally fluent—has introduced new forms of “digital dakwah” that blend religious discourse with entertainment, lifestyle aesthetics, and algorithmic amplification. This phenomenon raises critical questions about how Islamic teachings are framed, simplified, or commodified within fast-paced digital cultures, and how such virality shapes the religious orientations of millennial Muslim audiences. This study aims to analyze the discursive strategies used by TikTok preachers and examine how their content contributes to the formation, negotiation, or contestation of millennial Muslim identity. The research focuses on identifying linguistic patterns, thematic frames, and visual narratives that construct what may be described as “halal virality”—religious messages optimized for algorithmic spread. A qualitative discourse analysis was employed, drawing on multimodal samples from 30 high-engagement TikTok accounts. Data were examined through Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis framework, supported by audience comment analysis to understand reception patterns. Coding focused on authority construction, moral positioning, identity markers, and algorithmic cues embedded in the content. Findings reveal that digital preachers construct authority not primarily through traditional scholarly credentials but through relatability, emotional resonance, and aesthetic presentation. The discourse often simplifies complex theological issues into motivational soundbites, fostering a form of identity that is highly expressive, individualized, and platform-shaped. The study concludes that TikTok-based dakwah significantly influences millennial Muslim identity by merging religious meaning-making with digital performativity, commercial logics, and algorithmic trends.

Abstract

The role of faith in organizational development has gained increasing attention, particularly in Islamic contexts where religious principles shape organizational practices and communication strategies. Islamic values such as justice, Shura (consultation), and community welfare have profound implications for organizational behavior, leadership, and social responsibility. This study aims to explore how these faith-based principles influence organizational communication and contribute to social change. The research focuses on Islamic organizations, examining the integration of faith in decision-making, communication practices, and community engagement. A qualitative case study approach was employed, incorporating interviews with organizational leaders and employees, document analysis, and observations across five Islamic organizations. The findings suggest that the incorporation of Islamic values leads to more inclusive decision-making processes, stronger communication channels, and a heightened sense of social responsibility. Organizations that prioritized faith-based values demonstrated greater transparency, employee engagement, and community involvement. The study concludes that faith plays a central role in fostering social change within organizations, enhancing both internal development and broader societal impact. Integrating Islamic values into organizational practices not only promotes ethical decision-making but also drives positive social transformation. These findings contribute to the understanding of faith-based organizational development and offer practical insights for integrating religious values in modern organizational contexts.
