Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the level of accessibility compliance of public facilities with building accessibility standards in the DKI Jakarta region and to identify accessibility components that remain barriers for persons with disabilities in utilizing public spaces. The study employed a quantitative descriptive design through observations conducted in eight public facilities. The assessment was carried out between December 2024 and January 2025 using an observational instrument consisting of 37 accessibility indicators referring to the standards outlined in the Regulation of PERMENPUPR No. 14 of 2017. The results show that the level of accessibility compliance across public facilities varies, with scores ranging from 50.52% to 83%. Public transportation facilities demonstrated the highest level of compliance (83% and 74%), followed by public literacy facilities (77.06%), while religious facilities showed the lowest compliance (50.52% and 65.38%). Components with the highest compliance included basic spatial dimensions, corridors, and walkways, whereas components with the lowest compliance included exit lighting and directional signage, urinals, lactation rooms, changing rooms, and washbasins. These findings indicate that accessibility implementation in Jakarta’s public infrastructure remains primarily focused on structural building elements rather than navigation and safety systems, which may continue to limit equitable access to urban environments for persons with disabilities.

Abstract

Fatigue is a multidimensional condition that can reduce students' energy, concentration, and academic performance. Students enrolled in the Health Department, Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia are at risk of experiencing fatigue due to demanding academic and practical learning activities. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between internal and external factors associated with fatigue among students. A quantitative study with a cross-sectional design was conducted involving 382 students. Fatigue was assessed using the Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS), academic stress was measured using the Educational Stress Scale for Adolescents (ESSA), and social support was evaluated using the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test, Fisher's Exact Test, and Spearman correlation. The results showed that gender (p=0.030), body mass index (p=0.012), physical activity (p=0.001), smoking habits (p=0.017), and academic stress (p=0.001) were significantly associated with fatigue. In contrast, sleep duration, academic year, study program, organizational involvement, commuting time, and social support were not significantly associated with fatigue. These findings may inform the development of health promotion strategies and fatigue prevention programs for vocational health students.

Abstract

This study analyzes the relationship between musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) and work ability among online motorcycle taxi (ojek online) drivers in Depok City. A quantitative cross-sectional design was applied to 129 drivers recruited through purposive sampling. Work ability was measured using the Work Ability Index (WAI), and musculoskeletal complaints were identified using the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (NMQ). Data were analyzed using Fisher's Exact Test and Spearman's correlation. The prevalence of musculoskeletal complaints was high: 62.0% in the past 7 days and 92.2% in the past 12 months, predominantly in the lower back, shoulder, and neck. MSD complaints in both the past 7 days (p = 0.000) and 12 months (p = 0.023) were significantly associated with work ability. Most drivers had good work ability (52.7%) with a mean WAI score of 36.93 ± 4.54. Age (r = -0.479; p = 0.001), BMI (r = -0.277; p = 0.001), marital status (p = 0.000), and social support (r = 0.251; p = 0.004) were also significantly associated with work ability. Prevention of MSDs through ergonomic education, regular stretching, and occupational health programs is recommended.

Abstract

Workplace accidents can result in physical, psychological, and social impacts that affect a worker's ability to return to work and maintain productivity. The Return to Work (RTW) program is an extension of work accident insurance benefits that provides support to injured workers until they are able to resume employment. This study aims to explore the factors influencing the return-to-work process for participants in the RTW program, utilizing the Person-Environment-Occupation-Performance (PEOP) model as a conceptual framework. A qualitative approach with a phenomenological design was employed. Participants consisted of workers currently or previously enrolled in the RTW program, selected via purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews based on the PEOP framework, and supporting documentation, followed by thematic analysis. The results indicate that all components of the PEOP model influence the success of the RTW process. Individual and environmental factors emerged as the most dominant influences—specifically internal motivation, physical condition, family and coworker support, and company policies that facilitate worker adaptation. Job modifications helped align worker capacity with job demands, although obstacles such as limited access to healthcare services and coordination issues among stakeholders persisted. These findings underscore the importance of a multidimensional approach to ensuring the success of RTW programs and provide a foundation for developing more comprehensive occupational therapy interventions and employment policies.
