Abstract

Sinar 313 UKM is one of the industries engaged in the processing of corn chips. This industry needs to carry out a mature strategy and development for the survival of the agro-industry in the future. This is done bearing in mind that in the future the competition will be very tight. The development of MSME agro-industry is largely determined by factors including internal and external. This research uses descriptive analysis method with the process of collecting data through observation and interviews. Meanwhile, to find out the strategy used in SMEs in this study is a SWOT analysis with IFAS and EFAS calculations to determine the strategy to be taken. Furthermore, the data is processed by comparing the level of agreement relative to each other, so that the value of the factors that influence the processed corn is known. The results of this study indicate that there are 10 strategic items that support the productivity of corn chips in Sinar 313 UKM. Some of them are capacity optimization, enlarged market share, intensification of online sales through social media, efficiency, improving production technology, etc. While the obstacles found in this study include the lack of supply of raw materials, weather, inadequate promotion, lack of skilled workforce, and low government attention.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the production, and income factors of rice farming in the Oesao village , East Kupang District, Kupang Regency. The determination of the research location was carried out purposively (purposive sampling), namely in the Oesao Village, East Kupang District, Kupang Regency. The sample in the study were 38 rice farmers. The data analysis used was multiple linear regression analysis, revenue analyis, and income analysis. The results showed that the factor that significantly influenced the production of rice was land area, while the other four factors had no significant effect. Simultaneously all factors have a very significant effect on lowland rice production with a very significant value of 0,00<0,05. As well as 89% of the influence of land area, seeds, fertilized, pesticides and labor on lowland rice production can be explained by the variables in the model (LnY= 2,599+ 2,362LnX1- 0,320LnX2+ 0,072LnX3- 0,066LnX4- 0,029LnX5). With an average income of paddy rice farming per respondent farmer of IDR 8.842.256 per average land area of 72 acres in one growing season.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of agricultural extension agents in increasing vegetable crop production. The next objective is to determine the efforts made by extension agents to increase vegetable crop production and the production problems faced by farmers. The research was conducted in Kesetnana Village, South Mollo District, South Central Timor District. Measurements use an ordinal scale and are quantified with a Likert scale. Analysis of the role of extension agents used quantitative descriptive analysis by comparing the percentage value of achieving the maximum score of the average score with a reference table. Meanwhile, to find out the efforts made by extension workers to increase vegetable crop production and production problems faced by farmers with qualitative descriptive analysis. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that the average score of the agricultural instructor's role as a facilitator in increasing the production of vegetable farming in the Nekmese Farmer Group averaged 2.31 (77.08%). The average score of the role of agricultural extension as a motivator is 2.52. (84.02%) and the average score of the role of extension workers as educators is 2.48 (82.64%). This shows that the role of agricultural extension workers as motivators and educators in improving vegetable farming in the Nekmese farmer group is classified as "playing a role". While the role of the extension worker as a facilitator is classified as "enough role". Efforts made by extension workers are advocating the use of modern technology, use of fertilizers, introducing farmers to the symptoms of various diseases or pests and what actions should be taken. The problem that is often found in the Nekmese farmer group is the lack of assistance with facilities and infrastructure, the lack of subsidies for fertilizers and also medicines for farmers.

Abstract

Drip irrigation can be the right choice to overcome the problem of drought, especially in the growth of fruit and vegetable crops during the long dry season, because long dry seasons cause the land to have little water supply. This research was carried out in East Penfui Village, Central Kupang District, Kupang Regency from March to April. The aim is to understand the process of community empowerment in implementing drip irrigation technology to increase horticultural crop production. This research is a qualitative research. The reason for choosing this technology is because this place still lacks water, and the Bethesda farming group has used drip irrigation with green energy (solar energy). The data collection method uses in-depth interviews. The data analysis used is the Miles and Huberman Interactive model. This data processing is carried out interactively and continues continuously until completion at a certain stage, so that the data obtained is saturated. The results of the research in empowering drip irrigation technology in the Bethesda farmer group were that the following process was carried out: 1) socialization about drip irrigation, 2) techniques for making drip irrigation, 3) selection of soil type, 4) selection of plant types, 5) determination of the use of irrigation technology drip, 6) preparation of funds, 7) labor, 8) farmer field school (SLP) regarding drip irrigation. The community enthusiastically responded well and agreed to the installation of this drip irrigation technology system because it could help them overcome the problem of water shortages. The group members understand the benefits of drip irrigation and are skilled in installing irrigation hoses, installing irrigation pipes, spreading mulch and of course can become more skilled in planting horticultural plants.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the price competitiveness of seaweed farming in Lederaga Village, Hawu Mehara District, Sabu Raijua Regency. The research method uses a quantitative approach with a simple random sampling technique of 30 farmers (20% of the population). Data analysis includes qualitative descriptive analysis, cost and income analysis, and SWOT analysis. The research results show that the seaweed cultivation effort using the bottom release method has an average annual income of IDR 18,602,325.63 per farmer, per year, with a production process spanning 3 seasons, indicating that this effort is classified as profitable. The strengths of the business lie in its strategic location, simple cultivation techniques, and the availability of skilled local labor. The main weaknesses include limitations in post-harvest technology and market price fluctuations. Opportunities that can be utilized include the high demand in domestic and international markets as well as the potential for creating new jobs. However, this effort also faces serious threats such as climate change, limited access to modern technology, and farmers' dependence on middlemen. The recommended strategy is to leverage strengths to seize market opportunities and increase production capacity through training and the establishment of supportive institutions.
