Abstract

Farmers' knowledge about soil ecology, which is a key factor in increasing the productivity of agricultural products, needs to be evaluated considering that various counseling efforts to increase agricultural yields have not shown satisfactory results. Farmers still unequally manage farmland, providing excessive chemical fertilizers without regard to soil ecology. The purpose of this education is to evaluate the knowledge of the Women's Farmers Group (WFG) before and after conducting soil ecology education based on Islamic science. The subjects of this education were 15 members of WFG Bunga Padi, Jorong Kawai, Nagari Batu Bulek, Lintau Buo Utara, Tanah Datar, West Sumatra, Indonesia. The community-based research (CBR) approach is used in this educational activity. The stages of educational activities start from socialization, laying the basis of the research and the research design, providing pretests and materials, gathering information and analyzing data on biological factors, capillarity of groundwater, water holding capacity, soil aeration, soil fertility, and soil pH, and the evaluation (post-test). The results show an increase in knowledge and understanding among WFG Bunga Padi members after Islamic science-based soil ecology education. It is hoped that, over time, their mindset in managing farmland will be balanced, with less reliance on chemical fertilizers and more emphasis on soil ecology. As a result, Islamic science-based soil ecology education could have a role in improving farmland and laying the foundation for organic farming.

Abstract

Abstract

Existing Human Physiology Anatomy teaching materials tend to have a gap between the content of teaching materials and students, and there is no link to the verses of the Qur'an and the values of Asma al Husna. This study aims to develop didactic and contemplative-based teaching materials for human anatomy and physiology. Research development (R & D) used the ADDIE model. The participants in this study were three experts and 58 sixth semester biology students, majoring in biology department, Tarbiyah and Teachers Training Faculty, IAIN Batusangkar. The research instruments were observation sheets, interview sheets and validation questionnaires. The mean and standard deviation were calculated to determine the validity. Didactic and contemplative teaching materials in the Human Physiology Anatomy course were developed to fulfill all aspects of a development research, according to the characteristics of a teaching material, having didactic and contemplative characteristics. The didactic and contemplative teaching materials developed contain didactic aspects in the form of various activities, according to student learning styles, there is contemplation practice, contains Asma al Husna and contains verses of the Qur'an. The didactic and contemplative teaching materials developed have validity with very valid criteria (3.45±0.43). Thus, these teaching materials are suitable for use in classroom learning, fill the gap between the content of teaching materials and students, stop the separation between "knowledge" and "student-self" and deserve to be used as a reference in developing teaching materials that integrate science and religion

Abstract

This research is motivated by teachers who have not designed teaching modules independently, then the students' lack of knowledge about Minangkabau local wisdom and then teachers also have not used the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model. learning model which causes the students' learning process to be less capable in solving problems. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using an integrated biology module with Minangkabau local wisdom in the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in improving student learning outcomes in class X ecosystem material at SMAN 1 Lintau Buo Utara. This type of quantitative research, with a true experimental research design in the form of a pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study was 354 consisting of 10 classes. The sampling technique used was random sampling technique. The research instrument created was a question that was validated by 3 validators consisting of 2 lecturers and 1 biology subject educator at SMAN 1 Lintau Buo Utara. The research results showed that learning outcomes increased in treatment group 1. There was an increase in N-Gain learning scores by 29.54%. The hypothesis was tested using the t-test with the help of the SPSS 25 program. Based on the t-test carried out with the help of the SPSS 25 program, Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.050, namely 0.000 on student learning outcomes, so the research hypothesis is accepted. So it can be concluded that the use of an integrated biology module with Minangkabau local wisdom using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on Ecosystem material is effective in improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The use of varied media and learning models can support the achievement of learning objectives. The aim of this research is to produce video media based on Powtoon and discovery learning on class X biodiversity material at SMAN 1 Batusangkar that is valid and practical. Research research is development research or (R&D) using the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate). The instruments used were interview sheets, validity questionnaires and practicality questionnaires. Validity and practicality results were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results of the research show that the video media based on Powtoon and discovery learning that was developed fulfills all aspects according to the characteristics of a learning media. The video media developed is very valid with a percentage score of 88.98% and very practical with a score of 93.94% from educators and 87.05% from students. Powtoon-based video media and discovery learning on biodiversity material can be used in learning activities. Keywords: Media, Video, Powtoon, Discovery Learning, Biodiversity

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to describe the practicum activities carried out in the Plant Physiology practicum activities of the Biology Education Tadris Laboratory, IAIN Batusangkar. Methodology: This descriptive study combines the accuracy of numerical data and a more profound understanding through observation and interviews. The population in this study were all students who took the plant physiology practicum course in the odd semester of 2019, totaling 96 people and six laboratory assistants. Data collection consisted of quantitative data collection using questionnaires and qualitative data through interviews and observations. Quantitative data analysis was carried out using the average percentage score for each activity. Furthermore, qualitative data analysis from observations and interviews was carried out by bringing up themes and information patterns from practicum activities to support quantitative data. Main Findings: Data analysis indicates that the practicum activities have been executed efficiently, evidenced by a planning score of 80.56 and an implementation score of 79.42. Additionally, the score for follow-up activity was 93.66. The overall average percentage of practicum activity execution was 84.55, indicating good category. Novelty/Originality of this study: The activities of the practicum are detailed in this article, including planning, implementation, and follow-up. In order to generate comprehensive data, the analysis employs descriptive methods that are supplemented by observational data. Research data was collected from all parties involved in the practicum activities, including students, practicum assistants, and laboratory assistants. In contrast to other researchers who exclusively employ qualitative data with samples of practicum participants.
