Abstract

The purpose of this research is get a module for learning biology based on character that valid and practice. The kind of this research that used is research of development. The model of developmental that used in this research are  4-D, they are define, design, develop and disseminate. Procedure of research have been done is there phase, they are define phase, design phase and develop phase. Based on the result of this research module for learning biology based on character is very valid and  practice. Therefore the quality of product development was conducted valid and practical based on the result validate and practicality have been done.Key words: development, module, biology, character

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the students’ achievement and activities by applying cooperative teaching of team assisted individualization (TAI) type and PQ4R strategy at the grade students’ of SMAN 1 Tigo Nagari. The design of this research is guasi experimental research by randomized control group post-test only  design. The procedurs of this research ensists of preparation, operation and post operation. The instruments of this research are test and observation sheet. The technique of data analysis used by the research was t-test. The result of the research shars that there is a significance differences of man score, standard denation, and variant among the control and experimental class. Therefore, it can be encluded that the students’ achievement of experimental class is better than the control class.Key words: cooperative teaching, type TAI and PQ4R Strategy, biology teaching

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to get a product as LKS biology based on validity and practicality. Observational type that used in this research is Research of Development. Developmental model that used is model 4-D, which is define, design, develop and disseminate. The research procedure is done by three phases which are phase define, design phase and develop phase. Based on the evaluation that have been done is know that students work sheet (LKS) basis character that has been created is valid, through validity testing by some validator. Practicality testing result through questionnaire is categorized it is very practice. Meanwhile, practicality testing trough observation and interview, (LKS) is practis after proces by using descriptive technique. In conclution, the quality of product that is result of research development can be said valid and practice based on result of testing validity and testing practicality that has been done.Key words: Development, LKS, caracter, validity, practicality

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to see the effectivity of using module in Biology learning process contextual-based in “Ecosystem” for SMAN 1 Rambatan, class X. This is semu-experimental research and descriptive by Randomized Control Group Only Design. The procedure of this research divided into 3 steps; planning, actuating, and finishing. The research instrument is final test, observation paper, angket. The result of this research shows that there is the difference of mean, standar deviasi and variants between experiment-class and control-class. The study result of students that given module is better than students that taught by convensional system. So, we can conclude that the effectiveness of the module that used can be reached.Key Words : effectivity, module, contextual, ecosystem

Abstract

The research was aimed to design and know about validation of biology module based on constructivisme and problem solving. The kind of this research was Research of Development. This research used 4-D model developing, they were define, design, develop and disseminate. Prosedure of research have been done in three phase, they are define, design and develop. Biology module based on constructivisme and problem solving was valid. Based on the result of validation and analysis quantitavely and qualitatively, module development was also based on characteristic of constructivisme and problem solving approach. Abstract

The purpose of this research was to see the students biology learning outcome toward the aplication of active learning strategy type the power of two which included quiz. This research was an experimental research with design randomized control group posttest only design. The instrument of the research was posttest. Then, the data were analyzed by using t-test. The result of the research shown that there were differences of mean scores, standard deviation and varians between experiment class and control class. Finally, the result of this research indicated  that the students biology learning outcome which applied the power of two strategy in experiment class was much better than control class.Keywords: learning type the power of two, quiz, biology learning

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the generic skills of students’ science who conducted experiments on biology learning grade VIII Junior High School (SMP) in Batusangkar. This study used a descriptive quantitative design. The variables of this research were generic science skills as the 21st-century skills and students achievement. A total of 295 students were used as the populations and the purposive sampling technique was employed to select one class as the research sample (n=32 students). The student activities, such as a direct observation, awareness of scale, logical framework, cause-effect, modeling, and the inference was observed by 6 observers. This activity was designed and adapted based on the generic science skills and 21st-century skills. The percentage of students’ achievement and generic science skills score was analyzed with descriptive statistics. The students’ achievement showed that all students were successful, with a mean score > 75. The students’ generic science skills mean scores was categorized as: very good, good and sufficient, and all students were completed the learning. The highest (very good) performance was on the modeling activities with the average percentage of 87.49%. The results indicated that the skills were considered to be part of generic science skills and 21st-century skills. The results of this study concluded and suggested the need to revisit and reaffirm the inclusion of generic science skills in biology learning because this skill becomes part of or similar to the 21st-century skills.

Abstract

Embryology is part of a study of developmental biology. In embryology widely used terms that will clarify a process, and the state or the name of a body part, such as teratology, is part of a study of embryology and cause birth defects. Fetuses and embryos as another name for the developing fetus. Individual development process involves five kinds of processes, namely the growth, differentiation, cellular interactions, movement and metabolism. The fifth process will always be found in every stage of human development (day after day and week after week). Embryology process closely related to the presence and action of genes in the body. Advances in technology have shown that the lack of regulation in the body at the cellular level is called the molecular regulation and signaling. Key words ; embryology, developmental of biology

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship of learning styles to student learning outcomes in learning biology. The strength of the relationship can be seen in the interpretation of the correlation table. This research is ex post facto with research subjects are students of class X SMAN 2 Sungaitarab the 2015/2016 academic year are 71 people with the sampling technique used was random sampling with an error rate of 5%. Data collection method for variable learning style is by questionnaire, while studying biology outcome variables using vocational school documentation data analysis technique used is the product moment correlation with the level of significance of the analysis results is set at 5%. The results showed that there are no significant and positive relationship between learning styles to student learning outcomes in learning biology, this is evidenced by rhitung (0.089) <rtabel (0, 235), the Ha Ho is rejected and accepted. Based on the results of the study showed no significant positive relationship between the three variables of learning styles to student learning outcomes in the subjects of biology, it is thus test this hypothesis does not support the research.Key words: learning styles, learning outcomes, biology

Abstract

The objective of this research is to find out the density of bedbug population in Jorong Mahakarya Kenagarian Koto Baru, sub-district Luhak Nan Duo, Pasaman Barat regency. This research was conducted through a descriptive survey and direct collection of the Scotinophara coarcrata in the area of paddy field by using sticky trap. In order to collect the object, it was ordinal sampling used. Sample collecting was done twice at an interval of the first and the second 20 days. As the result of the first collection, it was gained 617 bedbugs with an average 21.27, and of the second collection was obtained 595 bedbugs with an average 20.52. The number of bedbugs collected in both periods was relatively the same. In this case the Scotinuphara coarctatapopulation has exceeded the limit as pests. Based on the research finding, it can be concluded that the density of bedbug population in paddy fields in Kampung Lima, Jorong Mahakarya kenagarian Koto Baru, sub-district Luhak Nan Duo, Pasaman Barat regency has exceeded the limit as pests.Key words: density, population, Scotinophara coarctata
