Abstract

This study examines the competencies of future primary school teachers and prospective guidance and counseling instructors in creating instructional websites with Google Sites. It examines how these prospective educators employ the platform to provide dynamic and interactive resources that facilitate diverse educational objectives. The current research evaluates the capacity to design a website structure, register a Google account, organize the main page of Google Sites, insert images and videos, manage menus, and construct inter-page linkages. The research sample included twenty participants, consisting of ten students from the Elementary School Teacher Education Department and ten students from the Guidance and Counseling Department at Nahdlatul Ulama Al Ghazali University, Cilacap, Indonesia. The findings reveal that prospective teachers exhibited proficiency in creating structured and functional websites with Google Sites, while also integrating diverse multimedia elements, including images and interactive features, to enrich the learning experience for their future students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop and determine the feasibility of PEDAMALA (Human Circulatory with Song) electronic media as an effort to help deliver material. This research uses a type of Research and Development (R&D) research with  an ADDIE research model.  There are 5 stages in this study, namely: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and  Evaluation. Restrictions are carried out on the grounds that they are tailored to the needs of researchers, namely developing media and testing the feasibility of media. The data obtained are expert validation and teacher and student responses. The results showed: (1) media development begins with writing lyrics and creating songs, recording, drawing animations and making videos. (2) PEDAMALA electronic media obtained an assessment from media experts by 95% with very decent criteria, material experts by 91.7% with very decent criteria, linguists by 75% with decent criteria and music/song experts by 92.8% with very decent criteria. The implementation stage in the small group test was 93.5% with very feasible criteria, and the large group test was 9.5% with very feasible criteria

Abstract

Science learning in elementary schools often faces challenges such as low student engagement and the inadequate use of local wisdom as a learning resource. However, integrating local culture into learning has the potential to improve conceptual understanding and foster student interest in learning. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using local wisdom-based learning media, such as the Banyumas kenthongan, on improving fifth-grade elementary school students' science learning outcomes. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects consisted of 16 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through pretest and posttest learning achievement tests, then analyzed using a one-tailed t-test and N-gain analysis. The results showed that the average posttest score was higher than the average pretest score. The one-tailed t-test yielded a calculated t-value of 1.77, which is greater than the t-table value of 1.753, indicating statistically significant improvement in learning outcomes. Furthermore, the N-gain analysis yielded a score of 0.7, which falls into the moderate category. These findings indicate that the use of Banyumas kenthongan media is effective in improving fifth-grade elementary school students' science learning outcomes and supporting local wisdom-based learning.

Abstract

Background: Critical thinking is widely recognized as an essential competence in twenty-first century education. Integrating local wisdom into IPAS learning can connect scientific concepts with students’ cultural and environmental contexts. Aims: This study aims to examine how local wisdom-based learning contributes to the development of critical thinking in IPAS learning and to analyze the potential of Gondolio, a traditional bamboo musical instrument from Banyumas, as a learning resource in elementary schools. Method: This research employed a mixed-method approach combining a systematic literature review and qualitative analysis. The literature review examined studies related to local wisdom and critical thinking in science learning published between 2019 and 2024 using Publish or Perish and VOSviewer. Qualitative data were obtained through interviews with local cultural practitioners and analysis of curriculum documents from the Merdeka Curriculum. Results: The literature review indicates that integrating local wisdom into science-related learning can support the development of students’ critical thinking through contextual learning experiences. The qualitative findings show that Gondolio contains several concepts relevant to IPAS learning, including sound phenomena, plant classification, material changes, and cultural diversity. Conclusion: Using Gondolio as a learning resource provides contextual learning opportunities that connect scientific concepts with local cultural practices, thereby supporting the development of students’ critical thinking in elementary education.
