Abstract

ABSTRACT The availability of data and information on the potential of mineral resources has a very important role in supporting investment in mining business activities. To realize this, the researchers collaborated with the West Halmahera District Government to conduct an investigation of Potential and Mapping Identification of the Sand and Stone Minerals Areas, especially in East Jailolo Subdistrict. The problem is how to provide basic data information regarding the potential of the existing minerals on site, both for the government, the private sector, businessman and the public community. And how potential of the minerals can be utilized optimally in the context of increasing mining business activities, and increasing Regional Original Income. The methodology and scope of this activity is to identify potential locations for economical of minerlas extraction. Technically, a study of the potential preparation of minerals is carried out through research and analysis of rock samples and conditions at the location of the investigation include geological, technical and distribution aspects. From the results of field investigations and analysis of actual conditions obtained; (1) At the location of the investigation found several types of potential rock and sand minerals in the form of volcanic rocks, the availability of which is almost completely spread throughout the investigation area. (2) These volcanic rocks are acidic to intermediate rocks, some of which are found fresh, and some are weathered. (3) This rock is found in the steep morphology of the hills to be very steep because of the very good condition of the rock characteristics. (4) The characteristics of these rocks include ; has water resistance, spesific gravity of 2.3-2.7 and compressive strength of 600–2400 kg/cm2, where these volcanic rocks can be used as home foundations materials, stone temples/ornamental stones, road coatings and foundations, and for other building materials. From the results of the investigation it is recommended that all parties manage the potential of the stone and sand, this can be done to provide income in the form of taxes and levies to the regional government.

Abstract

Identification of potential minerals, is a preliminary activity in the inventory of potential mineral resources in an area. In this study, the process of identifying sand and rock excavation was carried out in the area of ​​East Sahu Subdistrict and South Ibu District, West Halmahera, North Maluku Province. This study uses the preliminary exploration method step approach which is carried out by mapping the excavation material and observations and sampling in the field. The results of the study showed that the research area consisted of Volcanic Geomorphic units and Geomorphic Fluvial Units. Where volcanic geomorphic units are formed due to volcanic activities that are dated / quarterly. This unit is filled with quarterly volcanic rock units, consisting of volcanic breccia rocks occupying 25% of the research area. This lava rock also has an area of ​​7-9% of the area of ​​investigation. Whereas for Alluvial deposits containing coastal sand deposits and volcanic breccia it has an area of ​​only 2-3% of the total area of ​​investigation. The remaining 62% is filled by tuffa rock units which are pyroclastic material in the form of falling pyroclastic and glide / flow pyroclastic. In addition, this volcanic material can be used as building materials such as home foundations, stone temples / decorative stones, road foundation, for road pavement even as asphalt road mixtures. Abstrak Identifikasi potensi bahan galian, merupakan suatu kegiatan pendahuluan dalam menginventarisir potensi sumberdaya bahan galian disuatu wilayah. Dalam penelitian ini, proses identifikasi bahan galian pasir dan batuan dilaksanakan di wilayah Kecamatan Sahu Timur dan Ibu Selatan kabupaten halmahera barat provinsi maluku utara. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan tahapan metoda eksplorasi pendahuluan yang dilakukan dengan cara pemetaan bahan galian dan pengamatan serta pengambilan sampel dilapangan. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan pada daerah penelitian terdiri dari satuan Geomorfik Vulkanik dan Satuan Geomorfik Fluvial. Dimana satuan Geomorfik vulkanik terbentuk akibat adanya aktivitas – aktivitas gunung api yang berumur recen/kuarter. Satuan ini diisi oleh satuan batuan vulkanik kuarter, terdiri dari batuan breksi vulkanik menempati 25% dari luas wilayah penelitian. Batuan lava ini juga memiliki luasan 7-9% dari luas wilayah penyelidikan. Sedangkan untuk endapan Alluvial yang berisikan endapan pasir pantai dan breksi vulkanik memiliki luasan hanya 2-3% dari luas wilayah penyelidikan. Sisanya sekitar 62% diisi oleh satuan batuan tuffa yang merupakan material piroklastik berupa piroklastik jatuhan maupun piroklastik luncuran/aliran. Selain itu juga material vulkanik ini dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai material bangunan seperti pondasi rumah, batu temple / batu hias, dasar pondasi jalan, untuk perkerasan jalan bahkan sebagai material campuran jalan aspal.

Abstract

The potential of andesite igneous rock caused by volcanic activity, makes the City of Ternate has the potential of rock and sand extraction which is very abundant. Therefore this research was conducted to determine the characteristics of andesite rocks based on the results of testing physical and mechanical properties in the Laboratory, and how to determine the feasibility and non-feasibility of the availability of these andesite rocks as building construction raw materials in accordance with Standards. The study was carried out in the Sulamadaha area of ??Ternate City, where testing of rock samples was carried out at the SABO Laboratory, Center of Water Resources Research and Development in Yogyakarta and testing of other rock aggregate samples was carried out in the Laboratory of Structur and Materials in Civil Engineering Department, Khairun University in Ternate. Description of rocks has a fine solid gray color, afanitic textured crystalline subhedral, with mineral compositions contained in them are orthoclase feldspard, plagioclase, and quartz. The average compressive strength of andesite rocks from four samples is 1.357,015 kg/cm², for the test results the maximum shear resistance is 29,85%, while the average test results of water absorption ability in andesite rocks are 3,67 %. So it was concluded that andesite igneous rocks of Sulamadaha area, West Ternate District were feasible and fulfilled the requirements and quality of natural stone for building materials in accordance with Indonesian Industrial Standards (SII-0378-80).

Abstract

Bencana alam gerakan tanah merupakan salah satu bencana geologi yang sering terjadi di suatu wilayah, apabila daya dukung tanah tidak terlalu baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi daerah rawan bencana alam gerakan tanah di beberapa wilayah maluku utara. Pendekatan Metode dalam penelitian ini yaitu evaluasi dan analisis secara deduktif, dengan pengumpulan data secara komprehensif kemudian menjadi sebuah dasar kajian pengambilan keputusan untuk menilai suatu wilayah berpotensi rawan bencana alam geologi. Pendekatan evaluasi dan analisis yang dilakukan meliputi berbagai bidang dalam disiplin ilmu geologi antara lain ; pendekatan fisiologi/geomorfologi, pendekatan struktur geologi dan gerak tektonik, pendekatan vulkanologi, pendekatan geologi teknik dan tata lingkungan. Hasil penelitian menampilkan kondisi tanah dan batuan yang rawan terhadap gerakan tanah, menunjukkan bahwa endapan batuan vulkanik muda cukup rawan longsor dan banjir bandang, di wilayah deretan gunungapi, termasuk P. Bacan. Pengaruh kemiringan lereng terhadap kejadian gerakan tanah cukup dominan di daerah penelitian, ini terlihat dari distribusi kejadian gerakan tanah pada tiap-tiap kemiringan lereng berdasarkan pengamatan lapangan. beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi gerakan tanah daerah penelitian, diantaranya adalah sifat fisik batuan serta tanah pelapukan pembentuk lereng, terutama pada daerah-daerah yang dibentuk oleh batuan vulkanik yang berupa tufa dengan tanah lapukan bersifat gembur, plastis, membubur jika jenuh air dan tebal berada pada lereng yang terjal. Selain itu salah satu faktor utama gerakan tanah pada daerah penelitian ialah curah hujan yang tinggi akan menyebabkan naiknya tekanan air pori.

Abstract

Eksplorasi sumberdaya mineral merupakan salah satu alternatif dalam meningkatkan pendapatan negara. Salah satu tindakan atau langkah yang dapat di lakukan adalah dengan meningkatkan produksi sumberdaya alam yang di miliki oleh bangsa Indonesia kususnya di bidang pertambangan, PT. Tri Usaha Baru sendiri yang berada di Kabupaten Halmahera Barat melakukan eksplorasi dan menemukan singkapan mineral emas yang baru sejak tahun 2015, sampai saat ini dalam tahapan eksplorasi detail yang meliputi pengeboran untuk pengambilan inti (core) untuk mengetahui posisi dan jumlah dari cadangan serta kadar yang di miliki dari tiap-tiap titik bor. Dalam kegiatan pengeboran ini perlunya di lakukan perhitungan produktivitas kinerja dari alat bor tersebut agar dapat mengetahui dalam satu kali pengambilan inti (core) memakan waktu berapa menit. PT. Tri Usaha Baru memiliki 3 unit Rig Jacro dengan cycle time yang di dapatkan pada masing-masing Rig yaitu Jacro 150 dalam satu kali run length 30 menit dengan kedalaman 1.50 meter, kecepatan pemboran di peroleh 0,5 meter/menit, dengan waktu membor dalam satu shift kerja 08 jam untuk Jacro 150 di peroleh kecepatan pemboran 1,69 meter/jam, dan di peroleh efesiensi kerja alat 15.49%, Jacro 200 dalam satu kali run length 20 menit, dengan kedalaman 80 cm, kecepatan pemboran di peroleh 04 meter/menit, dengan waktu membor dalam satu shift kerja 08 jam untuk Jacro 200 di peroleh kecepatan pemboran 1.72 meter/jam. dan di peroleh efesiensi kerja alat 20.71%. dan Jacro 300 dalam satu kali run length adalah 30 menit dengan kedalaman 1.20 meter, di peroleh kecepatan pemboran 04 meter/menit, dengan waktu membor dalam satu shift 08 jam untuk Jacro 300 di peroleh kecepatan pemboran 2.18 meter/jam, dan di peroleh efesiensi kerja adalah 21,53%. Dari hasil efesiensi kerja alat tersebut belum memenuhi atau mendukung target pemboran secara maksimal, karena waktu kerja yang seharusnya dalm satu shift 8 jam, namun yang didapatkan pada ketiga Rig Jacro adalah : (1) Jacro 150. 07.09’jam dan waktu yang tersedia 51 menit. (2) Jacro 200. 07.25’jam dan waktu yang tersedia 35 menit. (3) Jacro 300. 05.19’jam dan waktu yang tersedia 02.41 menit.
