Banua Language is one of the languages originating from the province of East Kalimantan. Banua Language is part of the Austronesian language family. This research on Banua Language uses a syntactic typology approach. The aim of this study is to explain the behavior of subjects in clause construction within Banua Language. As a regional language in East Kalimantan, Banua Language has a unique syntactic structure. Not much research has been done on the function and position of subjects in this language. Therefore, this study examines subjecthood through canonical position, relativization, and control, the three main tools according to Keenan and Comrie (1983). The distributional method was used to analyze data collected from native speakers through elicitation and uninvolved observation techniques. The study shows that in Banua Language, the subject always precedes the verb in both intransitive and transitive clauses. Additionally, the subject can be relativized exclusively using the form "anu". Furthermore, the subject can be controlled in serial verb constructions, but arguments without subjects do not exhibit the same characteristics. The findings indicate that Banua Language has subjecthood properties that align with universal syntactic principles and contribute to the typological mapping of Indonesian languages. The theoretical implication of this research is expected to strengthen the theory of subjecthood from a syntactic typology perspective and provide a global linguistic database. In addition, the practical implication expected from this research is to serve as a means for preserving the regional language and a foundation for developing the Banua Language grammar.

In daily communication, Tidung speakers often utilize negation forms for rejection, cancellation, and negation. This linguistic phenomenon is very interesting to study. This paper aims to describe the form of negation in Tidung language and its usage. This study of negation in Tidung language uses descriptive method. The source of data comes from written and spoken discourse, especially those that contain the use of negation forms. The data were collected using reading, note-taking, and interview techniques. The data analysis technique used is qualitative descriptive analysis technique. In this paper, several forms of negation in Tidung language are found, including negation of kamad, ando, sama and kamad sino. These forms of negation have different functions and meanings. The use of negation in Tidung language can occur in parts of sentences contained in compound sentences and in the whole sentence contained in single sentences. Judging from the rigidity of the location, the five negations are very strong because the position of the negation cannot be moved to the right of the predicate function or to the left of the subject and object functions.

The Punan Dayak language is one of the regional languages in the province of North Kalimantan. The Punan Dayak language is widely used by the Punan Dayak tribe in Malinau Regency. The Punan Dayak language is part of the Austronesian language family. This study discusses analytical or periphrastic causatives in the Punan Dayak language. This study attempts to reveal the form of analytical causatives in the Dayak Punan language, including the verbs that mark these constructions. The data collection methods used in this study were observation and interviews. The research data were taken from direct speech by Dayak Punan speakers. The informants in this study were from the Dayak Punan tribe, aged between 25 and 55 years. The data analysis method used in this study was the distribution technique. Based on the results of this study, there are two types of verbs that are the main predicates in analytical causative constructions in the Dayak Punan language. These verbs are nucuh and menah. The distribution of these two verbs is different. The verb nucuh can appear in analytical or periphrastic causative constructions that have embedded clauses with transitive and intransitive verbs as predicates. On the other hand, the verb menah can only appear in analytical or periphrastic causative constructions that have an embedded clause with an intransitive verb predicate. The implications of this research are expected to become a means of preserving the Dayak Punan language and a basis for compiling Dayak Punan grammar.
