Abstract

The lack of the formal sector makes people look for other ways to survive, the informal sector is one way to reduce the possibility of social unrest in the community, for example the informal sector is a street vendor. The growth rate of street vendors in Makassar City is very rapid until November 2013, the number is around 14,000 people. The problem of the speed of street vendors in Makassar City is one of the factors causing the behavior of street vendors. This study aims to identify the characteristics of the location of trading and distribution patterns of street vendors, identify the factors influencing street vendors in choosing a location to trade and build a model of distribution of street vendor locations along the Losari Beach corridor. The analytical method used is descriptive analysis, frequency distribution, and multi-agent simulation. The results of this study indicate that the characteristics of the group of street vendors in Losari Beach are linear, spreading, and grouping patterns. Factors influencing the pattern of distribution are crowds, security, access, groups, kinship, rivalry, and retribution. From the results of the simulation, it can be seen that the types of street vendors who are in groups are types of drinks, banana epe, toys, meatballs, and boiled peanuts. Furthermore, linear street vendors are only bananas, while street vendors whose distribution patterns are spread are toys, sweet potato chips, meatballs, boiled peanuts, sausages, mixtures, accessories, clocks, and clothes.

Abstract

Makassar Old Town area is a community recreation area which generally aims to enjoy the natural beauty of the beach and culinary tourism. Behind the potential of the old city area that offers a variety of tourism and culinary, there are some problems that arise, namely the lack of government attention to culinary tourism, especially for street vendors (PKL). The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics of culinary tourism, the potential of culinary tourism and the pattern of the spread of culinary tourism locations in the Old City area of ​​Makassar. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach through descriptive and spatial analysis using data derived from primary data through direct observation to the field and interviews and secondary data obtained from relevant agencies. The results of this study indicate that the characteristics of culinary tourism based on the type of culinary, namely, the culinary specialties of Makassar are more chosen by the visitors compared to the culinary specialties of Indonesia. Potential culinary tourism in the old city of Makassar is Makassar culinary and seafood for Indonesian culinary. The pattern of the spread of culinary tourism locations is influenced by the presence of tourist objects in the area, Losari Beach Pier, Fort Rotterdam and shopping tourism along the Somba Opu Street corridor.

Abstract

The development of hotel development as a city service facility in the Panakkukang Business District is growing rapidly. Spatially these developments have resulted in changes in the function of land trade and housing into hospitality. This study aims to identify the spread of location and characteristics of hotel development, identify the factors causing the increase in hotel construction and identify patterns of development of the spread of hotels in the Panakkukang Business District. Data collection techniques used are, direct observation in the field, interviews with the hotel and secondary data collection at the relevant agencies. Data analysis techniques using inventory, quantitative descriptive analysis, qualitative descriptive, and spatial in the form of mapping and overlays. The research results show the spread of hotel locations and hotel characteristics in the Panakkukang Business District, which are spread and clustered on the main road and close to shopping centers and offices. The factors increasing the hotel construction are, the location is close to the trade and service area, the location is located on the main road, the location is close to the office area, the value of land and the location of public transportation. The development of hotels is characterized by an increase in the number of hotels each year and changes in building functions and patterns of development formed in the Panakkukang Business Area are patterns of spread on main and non-main roads that are influenced by accessibility, land value and linkages with other functions namely trade, services and offices.

Abstract

Land use change from non built up land into smaller plots is one phenomenon in urban areas that has relevance to a wide range of environmental issues that are vulnerable to disasters. Southern region of Kendari is a region whose development is quite rapid this is indicated by the number of land conversion non built up smaller plots resulting in several problems such as flooding that occurred. The way to anticipate by seeing growth trends of the land in the future. The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics (direction and extent) of land growth during the last 10 years, identify the factors that influence the growth of non built up land and predict the growth of built up land 10 years to come. The analytical method used is the interpretation’s technique of satellite imagery (Landsat), spatial analysis using GIS and CA-Markov analysis with the help software idrisi selva 17. In this study the value for measuring the validity of the data and the results of prediction is using the kappa’s value. The study showed that the direction of growth of built up land during the last 10 years is leading to the south and east of the study site and widely increments of 50.18%. Factors affecting the growth of built up land that is the availability of public facilities, accessibility, government policies and the physical condition of the land (slope and topography). Growth forecast land up until 2024 that is experienced in increments of 1864.89 hectares or 21.07% with the addition of as many as 20.813 cells. The tendency towards the growth of land up to 2024 which led to the south, east and north of the location of the research with kappa’s value reaches 87% or classified as very good.

Abstract

Cities that have several downtowns are called polycentric cities. Rapid development and growth in urban areas results in inefficiency in services by just one service center. Polycentric city structures occur in many large cities that have the characteristics of the decentralization of the function of activities outside the function of activities in the middle of the city. Makassar City is one of the metropolitan cities in Indonesia. Makassar City consists of 14 sub-districts that have diverse regional developments. The emergence of indications that Makassar City does not only have one city center is the background of this study. The purpose of this study is to describe the pattern of polycentric structure of Makassar City and what factors influence the polycentric structure of Makassar City. This research uses overlay mapping analysis, photo mapping, qualitative and quantitative approaches. Secondary data sources to describe the polycentric structure of Makassar City using yellow pages and categorized into 5 firms or activity functions. Yellow pages are used to obtain information in the form of an address or location of the type of activity that is located. Mapping analysis uses ArcGis software which includes ArcMap and ArcScene to show the contours or intensity of activities in several areas in Makassar City. The results of this study are in the form of the polycentric structure of Makassar City covering the Karebosi, Panakukkang, Bumi Tamalanrea Permai and Daya Settlements. Factors affecting polycentric structures among other things, city centers, tourism, industry and settlements.

Abstract

Mining is a capital-intensive industry. The mining industry has made an important contribution in the development of disadvantaged areas to become new growth centers in line with the opening of mining in the area. Kabaena Island is one of the regions in Bombana Regency which has a large enough mining sector potential, especially nickel. Despite having a large nickel potential, the island is still classified as a disadvantaged area with a low level of welfare. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the presence of nickel mining on employment of local people and its effect on improving the welfare of the community, especially those working for nickel mining companies. This study uses descriptive statistical methods, with multiple linear regression analysis techniques, comparative, comparative levels of labor welfare, and crosstab. The results of this study indicate that the presence of a nickel mining company on the island of Kabaena is able to create new jobs and absorb labor, especially local community workforce. In addition, the presence of nickel mining companies has a positive impact on the welfare of local communities, especially those working in nickel mining companies.

Abstract

Sektor pariwisata merupakan salah satu sektor strategis dalam pengembangan perekonomian nasional maupun daerah. Kabupaten Bantaeng adalah salah satu kabupaten di Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan yang memiliki potensi sumber daya sebagai Objek Daya Tarik Wisata (ODTW), baik alam maupun budaya. Namun demikian, ODTW yang ada belum memenuhi syarat-syarat sebagai objek wisata karena ketersediaan amenitas (fasilitas) dan aksesibilitas masih belum memadai. Sebagai salah satu aspek yang dibutuhkan dalam wisata, aksesibilitas sangatlah penting untuk dibangun selaras dengan pengembangan objek wisata. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi ODTW yang potensial, mengetahui ketersediaan aksesibilitas penunjang wisata, dan menyusun konsep pengembangan wisata dan aksesibilitas terhadap konektivitas antar objek wisata. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif, spasial, dan photo mapping. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa potensi wisata yang dapat dikembangkan berjumlah 25 objek wisata. Aksesibilitas penunjang wisata Cluster Barat diakses cenderung menggunakan kendaraan pribadi, jarak terjauh adalah 24 km dengan waktu tempuh 56 menit. Cluster Tengah diakses menggunakan transportasi umum dan pribadi, jarak terjauh adalah 13 km dengan waktu tempuh 30 menit. Cluster Timur cenderung diakses menggunkan kendaraan pribadi, jarak terjauh adalah 30 km dengan waktu tempuh 50 menit. Konsep pengembangan wisata terbagi menjadi tiga tema, yaitu Cluster Barat bertema agrowisata, Cluster Tengah bertema Cultural Tourism, dan Cluster Timur bertema Nature Tourism. Rute wisata terbagi menjadi 25 rute yang saling terintegrasi agar wisatawan dapat mengakses keseluruhan objek wisata.

Abstract

Lakkang Island is designated as a natural tourism area which has natural environmental conditions and has various potentials. However, the management and development of the potential of Lakkang Island to be used as a tourist area has not been maximized. This can be seen from the minimal tourist support facilities, the area is not well organized, and until now there has been no feasibility test for tourism potential so that the level of feasibility is not known which can be used as material for consideration for managers in developing Lakkang Island to the fullest. The purpose of this research is to inventory the potential of tourism objects and attractions and to assess the feasibility level of the potential of Lakkang Island as a tourist destination in Makassar City. This research is descriptive in nature by using spatial analysis and weighting analysis with the guidelines for Analysis of Operational Areas and Natural Tourism Attraction Objects (ADO-ODTWA) by the Directorate General of Forest Protection and Nature Conservation (PHKA) 2003. The results of this study indicate that Lakkang Island has a level value potential feasibility of 73.5% with the classification category 'High (A)', which means that this value indicates that Lakkang Island has the potential for attractiveness, accessibility, supporting facilities and infrastructure as well as the availability of supporting clean water, so it is feasible to be developed into one of the tourist destination in Makassar City.

Abstract

Latimojong sub-district is one of the coffee-producing sub-districts in Luwu Regency and the sub-district of agricultural designation contained in the Luwu Regency Strategic Plan and Luwu Regency RTRW 2012-2032. This study aims to determine the characteristics, potentials and problems of coffee commodities in Latimojong District, and to formulate strategic ideas for developing coffee commodities in Latimojong District, Luwu Regency. Data was collected by using interview techniques, questionnaires, observations and literature studies. The analysis was carried out using descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods, spatial analysis, LQ analysis, DLQ analysis, demand analysis, comparative analysis or productivity analysis, Likert scale analysis, and SWOT analysis. This study shows the characteristic conditions of Latimojong District that support coffee commodity activities based on studies of physical conditions, namely altitude, rainfall, slope and land use as well as non-physical studies, namely the basic LQ value and prospective DLQ. This study also shows that Latimojong District has the potential for coffee commodities that can be developed in the form of extensive plantation land potential, adequate human resources based on quantity, surplus coffee production and constant demand for coffee and there are problems in the form of accessibility, facilities and marketing of coffee. The conclusion of this study is to recommend 7 strategic ideas, namely WO (Weaknesses-Opportunities). This strategy was made by minimizing the weaknesses of Latimojong District and take advantage of opportunities to develop coffee commodities.
