Abstract

Public open spaces are city facilities that can be enjoyed and utilized by all ages, including children. At present, public open spaces sometimes put aside the elements of children's interests or needs in it so that children do not have a place to channel their creativity and aspirations. Kampung Nelayan Untia, Makassar City has a Child Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA) provided by the government, but children prefer to play activities on the road around the house. The aim of this study is to identify the activities and conditions of children's playgrounds in the settlement area of Kampung Nelayan Untia and to propose an ideal RPTRA optimization strategy. This research was conducted from December 2019 to March 2020 (3 months). The research method used is descriptive analysis, spatial, scoring, and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). The results showed that the provision of RPTRA Untia is currently not a solution for children to carry out their activities because the availability of supporting facilities and RPTRA criteria have not been fully fulfilled which causes a lack of attractiveness for children to play or do their activities. In addition, there are several aspects that become top priorities in the development of RPTRA Untia, namely the availability of playing facilities, shade trees, and comfort.

Abstract

Palopo is a coastal city that has experienced excessive exploitation of fishery resources and decreased income from the fisheries sector. This condition does not support the realization of the minapolitan vision as stipulated in the Palopo City Spatial Planning (RTRW). This study aims to determine the potential and problems related to fishery resources, human resources, facilities, infrastructure and the level of vulnerability to natural disasters, as well as to recommend minapolitan zoning directions in the coastal area of Palopo City in improving the regional economy. The method used is descriptive qualitative analysis, Location Quotient (LQ), employment, Likert scale and spatial. This research took place from October 2019-March 2020. This research is located in Palopo City. The results showed that fishery resources in Palopo City experienced a decline in production due to an increase in population. Of the five coastal districts, three of them have a capture fishery base and two are aquaculture, but the highest fishery production currently is the aquaculture sub-sector. The aspect of human resources shows that 70% of the total population of each sub-district is a ready-to-work population with the largest number of fishermen in the East Wara District. The facilities and infrastructure in this city have a sufficient level of availability of fishery facilities at this time. The location that has a low level of natural disaster vulnerability is Wara Timur District. In improving the fishery sector in this city, zoning in the coastal area is divided into three parts, namely the core, support and marketing zones.

Abstract

An area has the potential for disasters that can have negative impacts, such as losses and casualties. This study aims to assess the level of disaster risk and formulate disaster mitigation directions. The location of this research is in the coastal area of Mangarabombang District. This research was conducted in June-August 2020 (3 months). There are two types of data needed in this study, namely secondary data (data on disaster threats, demographics, and land cover obtained through agency visits) and primary data (data on land prices and area capacity obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation). The analysis used in this research is the analysis of the level of disaster risk by calculating the level of threat, vulnerability and capacity as well as a synthesis analysis of the literature review to determine the direction of mitigation. The results of this study are in the form of a level of disaster risk consisting of low, medium, and high classes. The high level of risk is tsunami, abrasion, and extreme waves. For the level of risk for moderate disasters, namely floods and extreme weather, while for the low risk level, namely earthquakes. Disaster mitigation directions are adjusted to the level of risk which consists of structural and non-structural mitigation. For structural mitigation, namely the provision of tsunami shelters, planting of mangroves and coastal forests, construction of wells and rainwater infiltration drainage, construction of coastal protection, provision of early warning systems, and application of earthquake resistant buildings. For non-structural mitigation, namely increasing the capacity and preparedness of the community and the establishment of a disaster risk reduction forum.

The high amount of seaweed production is not comparable with the amount of seaweed produced caused seaweed is only sold in raw materials without being processed before. Therefore, the development of seaweed culture-based industrial clusters is needed with the aim of increasing the value of the product by considering the spatial aspects in order to be sustainable. The aim of this study is to identify the existing potential of seaweed commodities and determine the industry cluster of seaweed development. The location of this research was carried out in Takalar Regency specifically in Mangarabombang District and was carried out in January-March 2020 (3 months). The method used are a descriptive qualitative and spatial analysis in the form of an analysis of land suitability and carrying capacity of waters that refer to the indicators of seaweed industry cluster determination. The results showed the District of Mangarabombang was the highest producer of Euchemma Cottoni seaweed which was spread in Laikang Bay with the highest number of cultivators in the villages of Punaga and Laikang. Seaweed cultivation will be dried and distributed to the industry and local industry. Abstract

Lake Mawang as ecotourism and scientific land will become a tourism icon in Gowa Regency. The lake, which is located between two sub-districts, namely Bontomarannu Subdistrict and Somba Opu Subdistrict, is one of the main program proposals in the Tourism Sector Potential Development and Rehabilitation program (Gowa District Regulation No.4 of 2007). In addition, based on the Gowa Regency RTRW in 2011-2030, Lake Mawang was designated as a District Strategic Area (KSK) for the benefit of environmental carrying capacity, which plays a role in the ecological utilization and balance of environmental preservation. The purpose of this study was to identify the potential and problems of the Mawang Lake area and formulate directions for developing the Mawang Lake area as an ecotourism area. The analysis technique used is the ODTW analysis to determine the value of potential development, the level of feasibility of tourist objects and attractions. Then consider the physical and non-physical aspects with a qualitative approach to identify potential and problems so that they can formulate the direction of developing ecotourism in the Mawang Lake area. The results of this study show that the ODTW evaluation interval of the Mawang Lake area is in the "good" interval to be developed, and the level of feasibility of objects and tourist attractions is in the "very potential" classification. The directives are in the form of ecotourism zoning planning, development of tourist attractions, circulation and transportation directions, planning of infrastructure facilities, increasing the capacity of stakeholders, and strategies in tourism promotion marketing.

Abstract

Belang-Belang Fishing Village has physical and non-physical characteristics. Physical characteristics analyzed are geographical location and infrastructure including road networks, green open spaces and building functions. Non-physical characteristics include aspects of population and livelihoods. The purpose of this study was to identify the physical and non-physical characteristics of Belang-Belang Fishermen Village, identify seaweed management processes and divide zoning based on physical characteristics and seaweed management processes in the Belng-Belang Fishermen Village Area. The research method is done descriptively with spatial analysis techniques in the form of map overlay techniques. The results of this study indicate that the Belang-Belang Fishermen Village in general has not been well-ordered, so zoning is needed. Zoning is done by identifying the physical characteristics and management processes. The physical characteristics in question are geographical location, infrastructure facilities which include road networks, green open spaces and building functions. Seaweed management is divided into three zones, namely pre-production, production and distribution zones. The pre-production zone is divided into seaweed nursery, seaweed planting and seaweed drying zones. Furthermore, there are no production zones in the research area so seaweed products obtained are directly sold through distribution channels.
