Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis perkembangan publikasi, sumber penerbitan, dampak sitasi, dan struktur tema penelitian feed additive pada ternak unggas selama 2014–2024. Data bibliografi diperoleh dari Scopus melalui Publish or Perish 7 dengan kata kunci “feed additive poultry”, kemudian diperiksa dan dilengkapi menggunakan Mendeley Desktop serta divisualisasikan menggunakan VOSviewer versi 1.6.17. Analisis deskriptif mencakup jumlah publikasi tahunan, jurnal paling produktif, dan dokumen paling banyak disitasi, sedangkan pemetaan bibliometrik dilakukan berdasarkan keterkaitan istilah dalam judul artikel. Korpus yang tersedia berjumlah 95 artikel. Publikasi berfluktuasi sepanjang periode pengamatan dan mencapai puncak pada 2020 sebanyak 16 artikel (16,84%). Poultry Science menjadi jurnal paling produktif dengan 24 artikel (25,26%), diikuti Environmental Science and Pollution Research dan PLoS ONE masing-masing lima artikel. Dokumen dengan sitasi tertinggi dalam data adalah penelitian Gao et al. (2017) mengenai pengaruh probiotik dan antibiotik terhadap pematangan mikrobiota usus ayam broiler, dengan 229 sitasi. Visualisasi VOSviewer memperlihatkan dua poros tema yang saling terhubung, yaitu alternatif aplikasi antibiotik dan tantangan pada ayam broiler, serta evaluasi level pemberian terhadap performa pertumbuhan, efikasi, dan kualitas daging. Peta densitas menempatkan istilah alternative, antibiotic application, dan growth performance sebagai pusat perhatian. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa riset feed additive unggas terutama diarahkan pada pencarian pengganti antibiotic growth promoter dan peningkatan performa, sedangkan standardisasi bahan aktif, keamanan jangka panjang, integrasi mikrobioma, kualitas produk, dan keberlanjutan lingkungan masih perlu diperkuat.

Abstract

Palm kernel meal is a potential alternative feed ingredient due to its abundant availability; however, its utilization in poultry diets is limited by suboptimal nutritional quality. One strategy to improve its nutritional value is fermentation using microorganisms. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of palm kernel meal fermentation by a bacterial and yeast consortium on its nutritional quality. The experiment was conducted using a completely randomized design with four treatments and five replication: a (unfermented palm kernel meal), B (fermentation with Bacillus subtilis), C (fermentation with Saccharomyces cerevisiae), and D (combined fermentation with Bacillus subtilis and Saccharomyces cerevisiae). The observed parameters included moisture content, metabolizable energy, organic matter, and inorganic matter. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) at a 95% confidence level. The results showed that fermentation using the bacterial and yeast consortium significantly affected (P<0.05) moisture content and metabolizable energy, but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on organic and inorganic matter. The combined treatment produced the best values, with a moisture content of 12.25%, a metabolizable energy of 3139.52 kcal/kg, an organic matter of 95.57%, and an inorganic matter of 4.43%. This study concludes that the fermentation of palm kernel meal using a consortium of Bacillus subtilis and Saccharomyces cerevisia is the most effective treatment for improving nutritional quality, particularly by increasing metabolic energy without reducing the content of organic and inorganic compounds.
