Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of giving vitamin E with different doses in feed on the reproductive condition of female jatimbulan tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) carried out at the Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) Freshwater Aquaculture Denpasar Bali. The method used in this study was experimental, using 4 different treatments, namely treatment A (control), treatment B (vitamin E 100 mg/kg), treatment C (vitamin E 150 mg/kg), and treatment D (vitamin E 200 mg/kg) with 3 repetitions. Data were analyzed using One Way ANOVA test, then continued with Duncan's further test using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software with 95% confidence level (α = 0.05). The total samples observed in this study were 12 female jatimbulan tilapia gonads. The results showed that the provision of vitamin E at a dose of 200 mg/kg feed is the best dose for tilapia gonad maturation, this is because the level of gonad maturity can develop up to TKG V. As well as the value of IKG, fecundity, and fecundity. As well as the value of IKG, fecundity and oocyte diameter are at the optimal amount.

Abstract

Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is one of the most cultivated freshwater fish. The problem that is often faced in fish farming is diseases caused by parasitic attacks (ectoparasites) which can cause a decrease in fish production levels. To overcome these problems, research is needed on the intensity and prevalence of ectoparasites in tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) to determine the density of ectoparasite attacks and the percentage of ectoparasites in tilapia. Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) samples were taken from the Floating Net Cage (KJA) of Lake Batur, Songan Village, Kedisan and Trunyan. Sampling is carried out by purposive sampling or determining location points. The tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) samples examined were 36 fish samples with a size of 14.7-21 cm tilapia niwana. The ectoparasite found only in the gills of tilapia, namely Dactylogyrus sp. (506 ind) and Gyrodactylus sp. (13 ind). The highest intensity in the genus Dactylogyrus was 14.06 ind/head in the medium category, while in the genus Gyrodactylus it was 1.86 ind/head in the low category. The highest prevalence value in the genus Dactylogyrus is 100% with the always category while for the genus Gyrodactylus is 19.44% with the frequent category. The data supporting water quality in this study includes temperature, pH, and DO. The temperature of lake water in floating net cages during the study ranged from 23oC-28oC, pH or acidity degree ranged from 8.1-9 and DO range from 4.8-5.6 mg/L. The results of the water quality in this study are classified as optimal for tilapia rearing.

Abstract

This purpose of this study was to determine the best dose and the effect of moringa leaf pellets on the growth, survival, and intestinal histology of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). The research was conducted in January-March 2025 at the Cultivation Laboratory of the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Udayana University, and the Denpasar Veterinary Center. The method used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications, using Moringa leaf pellet doses as follows: A (0%), B (25%), C (50%), and D (75%). Parameters observed included absolute weight and length growth, survival rate, feed conversion ratio (FCR), intestinal villus length, and water quality. The results showed no significant differences (P>0.05) in growth, survival, or FCR among treatments. However, intestinal villus length differed significantly (P<0.05). Water quality parameters during the study were within the limits set by Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia No. 22 of 2020, temperature ranging from 27.4–27.5 ℃, dissolved oxygen (DO) from 6.7–6.8 mg/L, pH from 8.10–8.17, and ammonia levels below 0.50 mg/L.

Abstract

Macroalgae are multicellular organisms that are part of algae with large or macro sizes and are classified as multicellular organisms. Gunung Payung Beach is a beach located in Kutuh Village, South Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali. This beach has wave barriers in the form of coral reefs that serve as habitats for several types of macroalgae. This study aims to determine the diversity, coverage percentage, and importance value index of macroalgae in the waters of Gunung Payung Beach. The research was conducted from September to November 2023. The method used in this study is descriptive quantitative. The research location was divided into 3 stations, and the research was conducted using 1×1 m quadrat transects. Based on the research, a total of 47 species of macroalgae were found in the waters of Gunung Payung Beach. These macroalgae species came from 3 divisions: 13 species of Chlorophyta, 27 species of Rhodophyta, and 7 species of Phaeophyta. Ulva lactuca and Hypnea valentiae are macroalgae species with the highest coverage percentage at all stations. The calculation of the Shannon-Wiener diversity index shows that the diversity of macroalgae in the waters of Gunung Payung Beach is categorized as moderate, with values ranging from 1.948 to 2.916. The highest diversity index was found at station 2, which is 2.916. The highest macroalgae importance value index at all stations is Ulva lactuca. The growth of macroalgae is influenced by substrate factors and water quality. Gunung Payung Beach has suitable water conditions for the growth of macroalgae.
