Abstract

Background: Pregnant women are particularly vulnerable during disasters because disruptions in healthcare services, limited access to reproductive health information, and inadequate disaster preparedness may compromise continuity of maternal care. Maternal health education and disaster-preparedness interventions are often delivered separately, highlighting the need for an integrated digital approach. Purpose: This study aimed to develop a digital reproductive health education model for maternal preparedness in disaster-prone areas and evaluate its preliminary usability among intended users. Methods: This study employed Type 1 Design and Development Research consisting of four phases: needs assessment, prototype design and development, expert evaluation and refinement, and preliminary usability testing. The needs assessment included a survey of 32 pregnant women and semi-structured interviews with five participants. Quantitative and qualitative findings from the needs assessment were integrated to inform the design requirements for the digital model. Four multidisciplinary experts evaluated the prototype, which underwent two revision cycles before preliminary usability testing with 10 pregnant women. Quantitative data were analyzed descriptively, while qualitative interview data were analyzed thematically. Results: The needs assessment identified limited disaster preparedness, barriers to maternal healthcare access during emergencies, and substantial educational needs. Four qualitative themes reflected uncertainty during disasters, difficulties accessing maternal healthcare, fragmented health information, and preference for an integrated digital platform. Based on these findings, a digital reproductive health education model named LERINA (Layanan Edukasi Kesehatan Reproduksi Tanggap Bencana) was developed, comprising six integrated modules: education, preparedness assessment, maternal monitoring, emergency support, consultation, and an administrative dashboard. Expert evaluation yielded mean scores of 4.74 for content and 4.78 for interface. Preliminary user testing demonstrated favorable usability, with an overall score of 4.71 ± 0.28. Conclusion: LERINA, a needs-informed digital reproductive health education model, was systematically developed and demonstrated favorable preliminary usability among intended users. Further studies are needed to evaluate its acceptability, implementation feasibility, effectiveness, and broader applicability.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology is driving the government to improve healthcare services thru digitalization, including e-Puskesmas. The e-Puskesmas application is one of the web-based puskesmas management information systems used to manage patient data from registration, examination, to treatment. However, the problems that arise in the implementation of e-Puskesmas will impact the decline in the quality of services provided by health centers. This study aims to determine the relationship between the use of the Human Organization Technology Net Benefit (HOT Fit) model in e-Puskesmas with the reliability dimension at Cisitu Health Center, Sumedang Regency. The type of research used is quantitative with a descriptive analytic research method and a cross-sectional research design. The sampling technique used is total sampling. The sample in this study consisted of 56 officers using e-Puskesmas. Data was collected using a questionnaire and then analyzed using a chi-square test. The research results show a relationship between human usage of e-Puskesmas with the reliability dimension (p-value 0.001) and no relationship between organizational usage of e-Puskesmas with the reliability dimension (p-value 0.696). It is hoped that the health center will improve its internet network and conduct regular evaluations to monitor the performance of e-Puskesmas at the Cisitu Health Center.

Abstract

HIV/AIDS remains a major public health challenge worldwide, particularly among adolescents. Limited knowledge and misconceptions about HIV transmission often contribute to stigmatizing attitudes toward people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA), creating social and psychological barriers that may reduce access to prevention, testing, and treatment services. This study aimed to examine the relationship between adolescents' level of knowledge regarding HIV/AIDS and their stigma toward people living with HIV/AIDS. A quantitative correlational study with a cross-sectional design was conducted among all active members of Posyandu Remaja Rahayu. Using a total sampling technique, 36 adolescents were recruited as respondents. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire assessing HIV/AIDS knowledge and stigma toward PLWHA. The study showed the majority respondents 58.3% demonstrated good knowledge of HIV/AIDS, while 41.7% had poor knowledge. Regarding stigma, 69.4% exhibited low stigma and 30.6% demonstrated high stigma toward people living with HIV/AIDS. Statistical analysis found a significant association between HIV/AIDS knowledge and stigma (χ² test, p = 0.001), indicating that adolescents with better knowledge tended to have lower levels of stigma. HIV/AIDS knowledge was significantly associated with stigma toward people living with HIV/AIDS among adolescents. Strengthening comprehensive HIV/AIDS education through youth health posts and school-based health promotion programs may improve adolescents' understanding and contribute to reducing stigma toward people living with HIV/AIDS.

Abstract

Breast milk is the main source of nutrition for infants during the first six months of life, yet evidence on accessible, food-based ways to support milk production in Indonesian primary care settings remains limited. This study examined whether adding unripe papaya to the maternal diet improves breastfeeding smoothness among breastfeeding mothers in Sumedang Regency. Using a quantitative quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group, 98 lactating mothers were recruited through purposive sampling and assigned to an intervention group, given 100 grams of unripe papaya per day for one week, or a control group (no treatment). Data were collected using a validated questionnaire and analyzed with the independent samples t-test. The intervention group had a mean breastfeeding smoothness score of 2.12, compared with 1.08 in the control group, a mean difference of 1.041 points (95% CI: 0.686 to 1.395; t = 5.831; p < 0.001). These results indicate that unripe papaya consumption improves breastfeeding smoothness in lactating mothers.
