Abstract

This study aims to implement and test the effectiveness of the jigsaw learning model based on project based learning in improving students' skills and learning outcomes in the subject of lathe machining at SMK Negeri 5 Sukoharjo. The method used is a quasi-experimental design with a two-group pre-test post-test design, involving 68 students divided into an experimental group and a control group. Data collection was carried out through pre-test and post-test, observation, and documentation. The results of the analysis showed a significant increase in the experimental group's learning outcome score with an average post-test score of 79.85 or an increase of 34.07% compared to the average pre-test score of 59.56. In contrast, the control group only experienced an increase of 28.3%, from an average of 55.44 to 71.18. The t-test showed a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group (p <0.05). N-Gain analysis also showed high effectiveness in the experimental group (0.5166) compared to the moderate category in the control group (0.3503). In addition, the observation results showed an increase in motivation, active participation, and student cooperation during the learning process. Thus, the combination of the jigsaw model with project-based learning has proven effective in improving student learning outcomes and skills significantly compared to conventional learning methods. This study contributes to the development of contextual and collaborative vocational learning strategies to face the demands of the industrial world.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of implementing a Project-Based Learning model combined with a CNC simulator in improving student learning outcomes in Computer Numerical Control at SMK IPT Karangpanas. The research design used a one-group pretest-posttest. The study sample consisted of 43 11th-grade Machining Engineering students. Pre-test data were obtained from the final grades of semester 1 with an average of 80.7, while post-test data were obtained after the intervention in semester 2 with an average of 82.6. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test showed a significance value of 0.205 (>0.05), indicating a normally distributed data. Furthermore, an independent t-test yielded p=0.003 (<0.05), indicating a statistically significant increase in learning outcomes. These findings confirm that the integration of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and CNC simulation media can improve students' conceptual understanding and technical skills. It is recommended that this model be implemented in technology-based vocational learning, utilizing simulation tools optimally, and conducting regular formative evaluations to maximize competency achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of Android-based learning media in improving students' Learning Outcomes (CP) in Basic Welding Techniques, especially in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) material at SMKN 3 Salatiga. A quantitative research approach was used with the ADDIE development model and an experimental method using the Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research subjects consisted of two classes, an experimental class and a control class, each consisting of 35 students. Validation by content experts showed a feasibility score of 82%, categorized as very feasible, while validation by media experts produced a score of 74%, categorized as feasible. The results of the normality and homogeneity tests showed that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. An independent t-test showed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups (p < 0.05) with an average increase of 22.686. In addition, the average N-Gain score in the experimental class was 0.5171 (moderate category), compared to only 0.0199 (low category) in the control class. These findings demonstrate that Android-based learning media has proven effective, feasible, and can be used as an innovative alternative in engineering learning in Vocational High Schools (SMK). This media not only improves student learning outcomes but also supports a more interactive learning process that aligns with current developments in educational technology. This media also has practical benefits in helping teachers deliver material more efficiently and engagingly, and has the potential to support the development of a vocational curriculum that is more adaptive to the needs of the workplace.

Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of Android-based learning media on improving the competence of reading external micrometer screw scales at SMK Negeri 1 Karangdadap, Pekalongan Regency. This study used a quasi-experimental two-group pretest-posttest design in two eleventh grade classes of Light Vehicle Engineering. Data were collected through cognitive tests. Media analysis used the Content Validity Ratio (CVR) and Percent Agreement (PA). Statistical analysis of student learning outcomes used a two-tailed t-test to test pre-test results, while to test post-test results used descriptive analysis, normality test, homogeneity test, right-tailed t-test, and N-Gain. The pre-test results showed that the two groups' results did not differ, indicating that their initial abilities were similar. The right-tailed t-test results indicated an increase in learning outcomes after using Android-based learning media. The magnitude of the increase was measured using N-Gain, with the experimental group achieving an N-Gain of 55.49% (moderate) and the control group achieving 22.04% (low). Based on the results of this study, the recommendation that learning using Android-based media is effective in improving learning outcomes.

Abstract

Learning in the Measuring Instruments subject in Vocational High Schools (SMK) is still dominated by traditional methods, such as lectures and the use of printed textbooks. This results in low student engagement and difficulty in understanding technical material in a practical manner. This study aims to develop and evaluate interactive flipbook-based learning media to improve student understanding of the Measuring Instruments material in the Basics of Mechanical Engineering subject. The development model used is the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate), involving a validation process by material and media experts, as well as a limited trial with 40 students. The validation results showed that the material aspect achieved a feasibility score of 91.32%, while the media and design aspects achieved 94.31%. Meanwhile, student responses to the media showed an average score of 82.29%, which is categorized as very valid. This flipbook media integrates text, images, and attractive visual design, thus facilitating student understanding in a more concrete and enjoyable way.

Abstract

Over the past decade, electric vehicles (EVs) have experienced significant development and become a focal point of the global agenda for sustainable transportation. This study aims to systematically examine the technological dynamics and challenges of electric vehicle implementation, particularly in the context of developing countries like Indonesia. The method used was a PRISMA-based Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of relevant scientific articles published between 2020 and 2024. The study results show significant progress in battery technology, including the development of solid-state and artificial intelligence-based management systems for in-wheel electric motors, fast charging systems, and the integration of AI- and IoT-based connectivity. However, key challenges remain, including limited infrastructure, high initial costs, interoperability issues, and cybersecurity risks. In the Indonesian context, structural constraints such as the distribution of charging stations and the lack of fiscal incentives have hampered the widespread adoption of EVs. These findings underscore the need for an interdisciplinary approach and integrated policies to accelerate the transition to inclusive and efficient low-emission mobility. This study provides an academic contribution through a comprehensive mapping of technological developments and offers practical implications for the formulation of future transportation strategies.

Abstract

Autodesk Inventor software learning in manufacturing drawing subjects in vocational schools requires the support of interactive visual-based media to make complex technical materials easier for students to understand. The weakness of conventional methods in conveying this concept requires a breakthrough through the use of modern learning technology. This study focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of using PowerPoint-based multimedia to improve students' mastery of Autodesk Inventor. The research design used the purposive sampling method with pre-test and post-test models in two groups involving 60 students in grade XI of Mechanical Engineering at SMK Negeri 5 Semarang. The experimental group made use of interactive PowerPoint media, while the control group continued to use traditional methods. The results showed a significant increase in the experimental group with a p< value of 0.05 and an N-Gain value of 0.499 much higher than the control group with only 0.148. Thus, the use of interactive PowerPoint has proven to be effective in strengthening students' understanding of assembly engineering materials in a more interesting, flexible, and appropriate way for learning needs.
