Abstract

AbstrakKualitas dan kesehatan media tanam sangat mempengaruhi kualitas dan hasil tanaman pangan. Tujuan dari inisiatif sosialisasi dan pelatihan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta dalam mengelola media tanam tanaman pangan sehingga mereka dapat memproduksi sendiri. Kegiatan diikuti oleh tiga puluh satu anggota kelompok PKK di RW06, Kelurahan Pasir Mulya, Kota Bogor. Sesi pertama diawali dengan penyuluhan tentang atribut media tanam subur. Sesi kedua berfokus pada pelatihan teknis dan keterampilan, termasuk pemilihan bahan, pembersihan, penyaringan, pengemasan, dan penggunaan media tanam. Bahan yang digunakan dalam pelatihan ini adalah kotoran kambing. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa para anggota PKK sangat antusias dan melanjutkan penanaman menggunakan media tanam tersebut di rumah masing-masing. AbstractI The quality and health of the planting media greatly influences the quality and yield of food crops. The aim of this outreach and training initiative is to increase participants' knowledge and skills in managing food crop growing media so that they can produce their own. The activity was attended by thirty-one members of the PKK group in RW06, Pasir Mulya Village, Bogor City. The first session began with counseling about the attributes of fertile planting media. The second session focused on technical and skills training, including material selection, cleaning, filtering, packaging, and use of growing media. The material used in this training is goat dung. The evaluation results showed that the PKK members were very enthusiastic and continued planting using this planting medium in their respective homes.

Abstract

Teknologi identifikasi varietas benih penting untuk menjamin benih yang digunakan petani memiliki mutu yang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji akurasi geometri dan morfologi benih semangka (Citrullus vulgaris Schrad) serta menentukan parameter dasar yang tepat dalam identifikasi varietas dengan analisis diskriminan. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Universitas Nusa Bangsa. Penelitian ini menggunakan software Minitab dalam melakukan analisis diskriminan dengan tahapan uji kolerasi, uji multikolinieritas, dan uji diskriminan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat delapan parameter geometri dan morfologi terpilih yang relatif kuat untuk membangun model analisis diskriminan. Analisis tersebut menghasilkan empat parameter terpilih sebagai acuan indentifikasi varietas benih semangka yakni area, feret angle,  aspect ratio (AR) dan round. Sedangkan parameter terbaik yang digunakan untuk melakukan uji akurasi dalam mengidentifikasi varietas benih adalah area dan AR. Uji akurasi tersebut menghasilkan persentase tingkat akurasi tertinggi mencapai 83,33% dan tingkat akurasi terendah yang mencapai 41,67%. Hasil uji akurasi tersebut menjelaskan bahwa tingkat akurasi penggunaan teknologi citra digital dalam mengidentifikasi varietas benih semangka sudah cukup baik.

Abstract

Counseling and training on verticulture-based land optimization to revitalize narrow land yards for PKK groups and housewives aim to increase the ability of PKK groups in the field of verticulture-based cultivation technology. It is hoped that after this activity, they will be able to optimize themselves and their land, and there will be an increase in the income and welfare of the PKK group and housewives. The approach method used in this activity is conducting counselling and training. This activity consists of three stages, namely counseling, training in making planting media, and training in how to plant. The results of the activity showed that the participants of this activity stated that their knowledge of the technique of revitalizing narrow land yards through Verticulture was increasing, cheap, applicable and based on local resources.

Abstract

Pemupukan merupakan kegiatan penting dalam budidaya pertanian yang memiliki tujuan untuk meningkatkan produksi tanaman melalui penyediaan unsur hara yang diperlukan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji efektivitas pupuk majemuk tinggi kalium terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman wortel serta efektivitas agronominya. Perlakuan disusun dalam 7 taraf pemupukan yaitu : tanpa pupuk (P0), pemupukan standar pembanding (P1), 0.5 dosis pupuk majemuk tinggi kalium (P2), 0.75 dosis pupuk majemuk tinggi kalium (P3), 1 dosis pupuk majemuk tinggi kalium (P4), 1.25 dosis pupuk majemuk tinggi kalium (P5), 1.5 dosis pupuk majemuk tinggi kalium (P6). Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa pemberian 1.0 dosis pupuk majemuk tinggi kaliummenghasilkan pertumbuhan tanaman (tinggi tanaman dan jumlah daun), komponen hasil dan hasil tanaman wortel (panjang umbi, diameter umbi, hasil/tanaman, hasil/petak, dan hasil/ha) tertinggi dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainnya dan nyata lebih baik dibandingkan dengan perlakuan kontrol. Pupuk majemuk tinggi kalium lulus uji efektivitas lapangan. Dosis yang direkomendasikan untuk tanaman wortel adalah 187 kg/ha yang diaplikasikan 2 kali, 50% dosis pada 1 minggu setelah tanam (MST) dan sisanya diaplikasikan pada 4 MST.

Abstract

Sweet corn is a horticultural commodity that is widely cultivated in Indonesia. This study aimed to determine the development and growth response of sweet corn plants to the application of different doses of micro inorganic fertilizer (3.14% Zn – 2.54% Cu). The research was conducted at Sindangbarang Experimental Field, Bogor, West Java. This experiment used a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with a single factor, namely the dose of fertilizer application. Treatments were arranged in 4 levels of application, namely: (1) control, (2) standard NPK, (3) NPK + 1 micro dose, (4) ¾ NPK + 1 micro dose. The results of this test indicate that the application level of micro inorganic fertilizers at the application level of NPK fertilizer + 1 micro dose and ¾ NPK + 1 micro dose fertilizer treatment can generally provide plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, cob length, cob diameter, stover weight, cob weight with husk, cob weight without husk, production per plot, and productivity which were statistically higher than the control treatment. The application of NPK + 1 micro dose and fertilizer treatment of ¾ NPK + 1 micro dose have Relative Agronomic Effectiveness (RAE) values that meet the requirements to pass the fertilizer effectiveness test, with the highest RAE value obtained in the application of ¾ NPK + 1 micro dose fertilizer at 118%. Abstract

Bambara groundnut (Vigna subterranea (L.) Verdc) is recognized for its nutritional benefits and ability to improve soil fertility through nitrogen fixation. This study evaluated growth performance, nitrogen dynamics, and seed quality across six landraces: Tasikmalaya, Sukabumi, Sumedang, Small Sumedang, Bogor, and Gresik. The experiment was conducted at IPB University’s Sawah Baru experimental field from July 2022 to March 2023. The experiment used a randomized complete block design with four replications. The measured variables were petiole length, number of petioles, number of leaves, leaf greenness, plant dry weight, nitrogen content, nitrogen uptake in roots, petioles, leaves, and pods, protein content in pods, and seed quality. Results showed significant variation among landraces. Gresik exhibited superior vegetative growth and dry biomass, while Tasikmalaya had the highest pod nitrogen (4.58%) and protein content (28.03%), indicating efficient nitrogen assimilation. Nitrogen analysis revealed distinct uptake patterns across landraces, particularly with Gresik, where a rapid increase in nitrogen suggests that this landrace is well-suited to environments where nitrogen is efficiently fixed and mobilized toward reproductive growth. Sukabumi and Bogor showed the highest germination rates (94%), and Bogor and Gresik had the highest vigor indices (76% and 72%). Overall, Gresik is recommended for balanced performance in growth and seed vigor, while Tasikmalaya is optimal for protein yield and nitrogen use efficiency.

Abstract

Suboptimal environmental conditions cause low imbibition rate in maize plants, thus disrupting enzyme activation and food availability for the sprouts, and inhibiting the germination process. This study aims to provide a better understanding of the imbibition pattern and physiological characteristics of germination, hopefully obtaining useful information in the development of seed processing techniques and more efficient agricultural technology. The maize seeds used in this study were the seeds of four maize varieties. The imbibition pattern was obtained by weighing the seeds from 0 to 120 hours with a 6-hour time interval. The results showed that the four varieties showed a typical three-phase imbibition pattern with almost the same time. Overall, the highest seed growth and germination was found in Jantan F1 and Paramita, which have great potential for use in seed propagation, while Baruna variety showed low seed quality and needs further evaluation for improvement.
