Abstract

The problem in this study is the low critical thinking ability of students. This study was conducted to determine the effect of implementing the Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, Create (RADEC) learning model assisted by infographic media on students' critical thinking abilities in economics subjects in class X of SMAN 10 Tasikmalaya. The method used was a quasi-experimental research design with a nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study were classes X-1 to X-12. The research sample used was class X-2 as the experimental class and X-3 as the control class with a non-probability sampling technique in the form of purposive sampling. Based on the results of the study, it explains that there is a significant difference in increasing students' critical thinking abilities using the Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, Create (RADEC) learning model assisted by infographic media on financial institution material, where the average post-test score is superior compared to the average post-test using conventional learning models in the control class. Thus, it can be concluded that the RADEC learning model assisted by Infographic Media has an effect on students' critical thinking abilities

Abstract

Financial literacy constitutes a multidimensional capability encompassing knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors required to manage financial resources in a rational, adaptive, and long-term–oriented manner to achieve financial well-being. In rural contexts, financial literacy extends beyond cognitive understanding and is embedded in everyday practices shaped by specific socio-economic conditions. Accordingly, this study seeks to explore the understanding, application, and lived experiences of financial literacy among housewives in managing household finances, as well as the factors influencing such practices. This research adopts a qualitative approach with an exploratory design, focusing on housewives in Tasikmalaya Regency. The primary informants are housewives, supported by other family members to enrich data triangulation. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed using an interactive process involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that financial literacy is construed as an adaptive capacity to maintain household economic balance amid income constraints. It is predominantly practical in nature, reflected in expenditure management, prioritization of needs, and saving practices. Financial well-being is perceived holistically, encompassing basic needs fulfillment, financial management capability, a sense of financial security, and preparedness for emergencies. The determinants include life experience, social environment, and household income structure. These findings underscore financial literacy as a mechanism of economic resilience, highlighting the need for contextualized, simple, and applicable financial education programs.
