Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari variasi urutan lapisan terhadap sifat akustik dan termal komposit ramah lingkungan. Pada penelitian ini, serat tebu digunakan sebagai bahan penguat dan getah pinus sebagai bahan perekat. Serat tebu dikelompokkan menjadi dua kelompok yaitu serat besar (diameter sekitar 0,37-0,32 mm) dan serat kecil (diameter sekitar 0,12-0,17 mm). Komposit dicetak dengan perbandingan fraksi volume serat tebu dan getah pinus sebesar 70%:30%, ketebalan 0,5 cm. Papan komposit serat tebu berdimeter berbeda tadi disusun dengan urutan diameter serat tebu besar besar (b-b), besar kecil (b-k), kecil besar (k-b) dan kecil kecil (k-k). Sifat akustik dan termal terbatas pada uji koefisien penyerapan suara, impedansi akustik dan konduktivitas termal. Pengukuran sifat akustik dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Tabung Impedansi satu mikrofon. Sementara, pengukuran sifat termal menggunakan apparatus konduktivitas termal. Hasil pengujian menyatakan semua variasi lapisan mengasilkan komposit dengan kemampuan penyerapan bunyi dan insulasi panas yang baik. Komposit dengan variasi lapisan berdiameter kecil-kecil memiliki kemampuan penyerapan bunyi dan insulasi panas yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan variasi urutan lainnya. Sementara, untuk komposit dengan susunan layer b-k dan k-b, kemampuan penyerapan bunyi dan insulasi panasnya tidak jauh berbeda.

Abstract

Organic waste processing by utilizing the candlenut shell charcoal has great potential to produce useful materials. The large seed and skin ratio makes candlenut shells very abundant during the harvest season. Candlenut shells are known as agricultural waste even though they have great potential to be utilized because of their good mechanical properties. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of composition variations in candlenut shell charcoal powder composites on their mechanical properties such as hardness values, friction coefficients and wear rates. The materials used are candlenut shell charcoal powder and epoxy, with a fraction ratio of 55%: 45% wt, 60%: 40% wt, 65%: 35% wt, 70%: 30% wt, 75%: 25% wt, 80%: 20% wt, 85% : 15% wt. The size of the candlenut shell charcoal powder used is 841-1190 μm. The results of the study showed the highest hardness of 74.94 HRN, a wear value of 0,000077407407 g/mm2, and the friction coefficient of 0.2108.

Abstract

Starting with COVID19, almost everyone around the world uses the internet, even to the worrying stage, namely internet addiction. Several studies report that the level of addiction to using the internet network is getting higher even though COVID19 has subsided. Teenagers have not been able to choose useful internet connection activities and they are more prone to experiencing bad influences from the social environment. To overcome this they need support from psychologists so they can prevent and diagnose early before they become sufferers of severe internet addiction. But on the other hand, the number of psychologists who can help is still very limited, especially in small towns. In addition, economic factors and limited time for parents to accompany their children to visit psychologists are the main obstacles. Therefore it is necessary to find a solution that can overcome the limitations and barriers to adolescents in obtaining services from a psychologist. One solution to this problem is to build an expert system that can work as a psychologist. The purpose of this research is to build an expert system application for diagnosing internet addiction using the backward chaining method. Internet addiction level is categorized in low, medium and high. System testing is carried out using black box testing which allows experts to obtain a set of output conditions that will carry out all functional requirements of the program. This test shows that the inout and output data has been running as expected.

Abstract

One of the fish preservation techniques that are widely used today is the smoking technique. In general, the smoking process was still traditional and used a conventional oven. This method is an easy way to smoke fish. The purpose of this study was to determine the efficiency of the fish smoking device using a horizontal rotary system. This smoking device consists of a smoking chamber, a furnace, a rotary catfish holder, a DC motor, gears, and a chain. The capacity of this rotary system smoker is 9 kg of wet fish. The fish used in this study were catfish and skipjack fish. This smoking uses the result of burning cinnamon. Cinnamon will produce smoke which is useful for smoking fish. The weight of wet fish in one smoke in this study was 8 kg. The smoking method has a standard ratio of wet fish weight to dry fish weight of 4: 1. For smoking catfish, after smoking for 2 hours at a temperature of 80 oC - 90 oC, the weight of catfish becomes 2 kg. For smoking skipjack tuna, after smoking for 2.5 hours at a temperature of 80 oC - 90 oC, the weight of skipjack tuna becomes 2 Kg. From the test results, it can be concluded that the rotary smoking system is very good for use as a fish smoking tool because it has a high enough efficiency compared to traditional tools such as ovens where the traditional smoking method takes 36 hours and the oven system smoking method takes as long as 12 hours.

Abstract

This study investigates the effects of adding 30 wt.% aluminum silicate and varying sintering temperatures on the density and hardness of vitrified fly ash glass ceramics. Fly ash, a waste by product from coal combustion at the Suralaya thermal power plant has long posed environmental challenges. To mitigate these impacts, this research explores its utilization in producing glass ceramics. The samples were prepared as cylindrical samples with a diameter of 15 mm and thickness of 5 mm, and were fabricated using uniaxial pressing at 120 MPa. The samples were sintered at 1050, 1100, and 1150 °C with a heating rate of 5 °C/min. Experimental results reveal that adding 30 wt.% AS significantly improves the density from 2.31 to 2.51 g/cm³ and hardness from 443 to 2418.55 MPa compared to 100 wt.% fly ash. Optimal density and hardness were achieved at a sintering temperature of 1150 °C.

Abstract

Candlenut shell waste has not been widely utilized, especially in the field of material technology. In this study, innovation was carried out on the management of candlenut shell waste with the aim of reducing candlenut shell waste into something useful as a composite of candlenut shell/epoxy. Candlenut shells are ground into powder and sieved on the powder with a mesh of 50-80 with a powder size of 177-297µm. To obtain shell charcoal powder, candlenut shells are carbonized after that ground into powder and sieved with a mesh of 100-200 with a powder size of 74-149µm. While for epoxy resin, it is mixed with a ratio of resin to hardener (2:1). The mixture ratio of candlenut shell composite%, candlenut shell charcoal%, and epoxy resin% is (45:10:45). The printing of the test sample used the printing method, the mold was pressed with a pressure of 21 kg/cm2, 25 kg/cm2, 28 kg/cm2, 32 kg/cm2, 35 kg/cm2 for 24 hours. The sample testing in this study was observation of the microstructure and density testing. In the density test and observation of the microstructure, where the best pressure among the other pressures was at a pressure of 32 kg/cm2 because it can be seen from the density value of 1.14????????/????????3 and the relative density result value of 87%. The things that affect the density test and observation of the microstructure are the comparison at each pressure, the increase in pressure that produces a composite with good physical properties, namely the results of the density data prove an increase in its density and observations of its microstructure prove an increase in the density of the good powder particle composite.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggunakan serbuk cangkang sawit (PKS) sebagai penguat dalam komposit berbasis bahan alami, untuk menghasilkan material kampas rem yang ramah lingkungan. Serbuk PKS dikombinasikan dengan resin epoksi dalam lima rasio fraksi volume yang berbeda: 70:30, 675:32,5, 65:35, 62,5:37,5, dan 60:40 %vol. Setiap kombinasi rasio terdiri dari lima jenis ukuran partikel (250–1190 µm). Sifat fisik yang dievaluasi dalam penelitian ini adalah densitas, sedangkan sifat mekanisnya adalah kekerasan dan kekuatan geser. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa perubahan komposisi tidak secara signifikan mempengaruhi densitas, sedangkan ukuran partikel memiliki dampak yang lebih nyata. Secara umum, peningkatan jumlah serbuk PKS dalam material komposit cenderung meningkatkan kekerasan dan kekuatan geser material komposit. Nilai kekerasan dan kekuatan geser tertinggi masing-masing adalah 23,4 Kgf/mm² dan 4,143 MPa, yang dicapai oleh komposit dengan komposisi serbuk PKS tertinggi (70:30%) dan ukuran partikel terbesar (841–1190 µm). Namun, nilai-nilai ini masih dibawah persyaratan standar untuk bantalan rem berdasarkan SAE J661. Oleh karena itu, optimasi lebih lanjut diperlukan untuk mencapai kinerja mekanis yang memenuhi standar industri.
