Abstract

Background: Self-reported maternal mood symptoms during pregnancy have been related to poor birth outcomes, including low birth weight, increased risk of premature delivery, and pre-eclampsia among pregnant women. A non-pharmacological method is needed to overcome mood symptoms such as anxiety during pregnancy.Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of yoga relaxation on anxiety levels among pregnant women at the third trimester. Methods: This study employed a quasi-experimental research design and involved 30 pregnant women at the third trimester who were equally divided into two groups. The levels of anxiety were measured by using Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS). Data were analysed using the independent t-test and the paired sample t-test.Results: The results showed that there was a significant difference in the anxiety levels before and after the intervention in the experimental group (t=7.56, p=0.005), and there was a significant difference in the anxiety levels after the intervention between the experimental and control group (t=-9.289, p=0.005).Conclusion: Yoga relaxation had an effect on reducing anxiety levels among pregnant women at the third trimester. It is expected that pregnant women use yoga relaxation to decrease anxiety.

Abstract

Background: Surgical site infection (SSI) in cesarean section (CS) is a major cause of prolonged hospital stay and resource consumption, and causes morbidity and mortality for the mother and the baby.Purpose: This literature review aimed to assess and identify risk factors, interventions, and prevention strategies of SSI for women post CS especially the obese women. Methods: An integrative literature review was conducted by employing the databases of PubMed, ProQuest, Science Direct, Wiley online library, and Google scholar from 1999 to 2015. This review identified the studies conducted either in women post-CS or obese women post CS.Results: A total of 58 articles were found, and 14 articles met the criteria. The risk factors of CS-SSI were classified into extrinsic and intrinsic factors. The intrinsic factors include limited mobility, poor nutrition, and comorbidity (diabetes) while the extrinsic factors include surgical technique, skin closure methods, prophylactic antibiotic, and the use of drains. Poor nutrition, diabetes, and limited mobility were the common factors found in obese women undergoing CS. Maintaining nutritional status and controlling blood glucose were proposed to prevent CS-SSI among obese women post-CS.Conclusions: Nurses should have adequate knowledge about the risk factors of CS-SSI to assess the risk factors of CS-SSI especially in obese women. The intervention of CS-SSI might need a bundle of interventions which consist of pre-operative and post-operative prevention strategies.

Abstract

In Indonesia, every year more than 15,000 cases of cervical cancer are detected, and around 8,000 cases of them die. The incidence of cervical cancer in Indonesia in 2011 reached 100 per 100,000 population per year. To determine the relationship between female characteristics and the incidence of cervical cancer in patients in the gynecology room of the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital in 2022. This research is a quantitative study with a case control design using primary data with a sample of 58 patients on the 2nd floor of the gynecology room. The sampling technique uses random sampling. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate using chi square. The variables associated with the incidence of cervical cancer were HPV vaccination (p=0.002), early detection of cervical cancer (p=0.003), history of smoking (p=0.009), history of vaginal discharge (p=0.014) and age at first sexual intercourse (p=0.004) with the incidence of cervical cancer, while variables that had no relationship were history of contraception (0.738). There is a relationship between HPV vaccination, early detection of cervical cancer, history of smoking, history of vaginal discharge and age at first sexual intercourse with the incidence of cervical cancer. It is expected to increase women's knowledge about the factors associated with the incidence of cervical cancer.

Abstract

WHO recommends regular pregnancy checkups 8 meetings. However, with the current condition of the Covid-19 pandemic still not over, routine checks can be reduced in intensity to just 6 times. In several regions in Indonesia, such as in Yogyakarta, 6 pregnant women who tested positive for Covid 19 were found, in Surabaya there were 123 pregnant women who were positive for Covid-19, in Gresik there were 20 positive pregnant women for Covid-19 and in the Lampung region there were also three pregnant women who were positive Covid-19. With the increasing number of pregnant women who are positive for Covid 19, compliance with health protocols must be tightened in which pregnant women are people who are vulnerable to Covid 19 transmission. , and family support. The Objectives: know the analysis of the compliance factor of pregnant women with the Covid 19 health protocol during an ANC visit. Analytical research using cross-sectional method. The sample in this study amounted to 100 respondents. The sampling technique used total sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate with chi square statistical test. There was no significant relationship between age and education (p value> 0.05), while knowledge and family support showed a relationship with covid 19 health protocol compliance with p value <0.05. Compliance with the covid 19 health protocol in pregnant women is influenced by knowledge and family support. It is hoped that health workers should increase couns

Abstract

Health development aims to increase awareness, ability, and willingness to live a healthy life for every individual, enabling the attainment of the highest possible level of health. In other words, it is expected that the community can play a role as actors in health development by maintaining and improving their own health and actively contributing to the realization of community health. Mothers giving birth through Cesarean Section (CS) have been proven to significantly increase maternal mortality. The risk is higher in planned elective CS deliveries (Villar, 2006). In recent years, the incidence of CS deliveries has exceeded the WHO target. Efforts for Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC) have relatively low interest (ACOG, 2010). Mothers' fear of undergoing normal delivery is influenced by various factors, including anxiety and lack of knowledge. The objective of this activity is to increase the knowledge of pregnant women about Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC) and provide prenatal care. The results of the activity show that many pregnant women are enthusiastic about enhancing their knowledge of VBAC. Some pregnant women actively inquire about VBAC and are motivated to follow the procedures. Pregnant women also feel significant benefits from free prenatal examinations.
