Abstract

Tourism digitalisation is essential for modern destination governance, yet many tourism villages face a structural gap between digital promotion and manual administration. This community service program aimed to address visitor data management inefficiencies in Karangjaya Tourism Village, Karawang, through the participatory development and implementation of a web-based Checklist Application. Engaging 2 operators from Pokdarwis across two initial tourism units (culinary and agrotourism), the intervention was structured into six stages: needs identification, application development, socialisation, hands-on training, monitoring and evaluation, and sustainability planning. The application enables real-time recording of visitor demographics (names, gender, group size, visiting time) and features dynamic dashboard visualisations and automated data export capabilities (Excel/PDF). Implementation results demonstrated that the application successfully supported data recapitulation, reducing monthly administrative report compilation time from an average of days to less than 5 minutes while eliminating manual calculation errors. Although full adoption across all village tourism units remains constrained by device availability and cellular connectivity, the program significantly strengthened the digital operational capacity of local managers. This intervention illustrates how lightweight digital tools can facilitate data-driven governance in community-based tourism destinations.
