Abstract

Corn is one of the main agricultural plant commodities in Gunung Kidul regency especially Saptosari village because this area has high result potential and production of corn. That high potential is in line with its high waste produced such as its leaves, stalks, cobs, and husks. To date, the leaves and stalks are corn wastes that have been used as fresh cattle feed, while the cobs are only thrown away or burnt. In fact, all corn wastes can be used as dry cattle feed that can be stored. The potential to process corn waste is important by noting the number of cattle in Saptosari village and Gunung Kidul regency in general to meet the high demand of cattle feed. This type of cattle feed is very needed in dry season due to the shortage of fresh cattle feed. As a result, there is a need to have a society empowerment activity in Saptosari village especially in Tukuk hamlet aimed at developing the society’s skills to process corn waste into cattle feed. The method of empowerment activity was done in stages that include socialization, training, and waste processing practicum. The success of society empowerment activity that was implemented is shown by the increasing knowledge and skills of the society in processing the corn waste into cattle feed. The most significant finding is that the society is very enthusiastic in processing the corn waste into cattle feed shown by self-procurement of corn waste crusher machine.

Abstract

Blade design and material selection for savonius turbines need to accurate to produce high power input. This research aims to make the most robust blade material by vacuum infusion manufactured. The hybrid laminate composite applied in the manufacture of Savonius turbine blades consists of woven carbon fiber with chopped strand mat glass fiber and woven glass fiber. The variations of fiber composition comprised of five layers, namely 5An (5 layers of woven glass fiber), 5Ac (5 layers of chopped strand mat glass fiber), 2C-3An (2 woven carbon fiber-3 woven glass), and 2C-3Ac (2 woven carbon fiber-3 chopped strand mat glass fiber). The results showed 2C-3An for the best variation of hybrid laminate composite with the tensile strength of 219 MPa, with the modulus of elasticity of 6.8 GPa and the smallest density was 1.21 g/cm3.

Abstract

Many applications of thermoacoustic engines in engineering. With its pressure of it, the energy can be harvested and can be converted to many other needs of energies like electrical energy. Energy in thermal form is converted to become acoustic energy and subsequently used to activate a bidirectional turbine. The resonator is very influential toward the power of the thermoacoustic engines. Simulation study with Delta EC fit to make predictions acoustic power as representative performance in thermoacoustic engine with close-open type and standing wave of oscillation. In this study, the material of the resonator is made from a stainless-steel duct with a diameter size of 50.8 mm with three variations of the length. The Standing-Wave Thermoacoustic Engine (SWTE) generates acoustic energy from a temperature gradient of 315 – 993 K. In this simulation, Acoustic Power decreased when the resonator length was extended. The shortest resonator had an acoustic power of 50.4 W, and the longest resonator had an acoustic power of 35.7 W.

Abstract

Perkembangan pendeteksian kerusakan pada sistem Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) sudah sangat maju dengan metode yang serba praktis dan mudah.  Namun, masih banyak bengkel yang belum bisa memperbaiki sepeda motor dengan teknologi EFI karena membutuhkan scanner khusus dari pabrikan untuk mendeteksi kerusakan-kerusakan dalam sistem kontrol elektronik baik itu sensor, ECU (Electronic Control Unit), atau aktuator. Hal ini masih menjadi kendala utama karena tidak setiap bengkel non-resmi memiliki alat tersebut karena harganya mahal dan setiap tipe atau merk sepeda motor memiliki scanner (EFI Diagnostic Tool) yang berbeda-beda sehingga bengkel harus menyediakan berbagai macam scanner untuk mengakomodir semua tipe dan merk sepeda motor. Padahal ada metode lain yang dapat digunakan selain dengan scanner tersebut. Metode pemeriksaan kerusakan pada sistem EFI sepeda motor bisa dilakukan dengan tiga metode yaitu metode MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp), EFI Diagnostic Tool, dan Manual (dengan multitester). Dengan memilih salah satu diantara tiga metode tersebut dapat untuk mendeteksi kerusakan yang ada pada sistem EFI. Metode yang tidak membutuhkan scanner dapat dilakukan adalah metode MIL dan Manual. Metode MIL dapat dilakukan dengan melihat lampu MIL yang berkedip dan memperhatikan kode kedipan yang muncul. Dengan mengetahui kode kedipan maka akan diketahui pula kerusakan yang terjadi melalui buku manual pedoman reparasi (terdapat tabel kode kedipan dan analisis kerusakan yang terjadi). Metode Manual atau dengan multitester dapat juga dilakukan pemeriksaan satu-persatu pada setiap sensor dan aktuator yang ada pada sistem EFI, dapat diketahui hasilnya apakah masih dalam batas rentang spesifikasi atau tidak dengan membandingkan dengan standar yang ada dalam buku manual pedoman reparasi.

Abstract

Sistem AC pada kendaraan merupakan suatu sistem yang penting dalam kendaraan khususnya mobil. Menjaga kenyamanan pengendara dan penumpang adalah fungsi dari sistem ini. Pemakaian dalam jangka yang lama menyebabkan perlu adanya monitoring dan perbaikan pada sistem tersebut. Terlebih lagi kasus Sistem AC yang terdapat pada Mobil Toyota Great Corolla Tipe 4A-FE yang notabene adalah mobil lawas keluaran tahun 1994 – 1996. Perawatan (maintenance) dan perbaikan (service) adalah metode yang digunakan dalam menangani masalah menurunnya atau rusaknya Sistem AC pada kendaraan. Tentunya langkah perawatan dan perbaikan harus dilakukan dengan kaidah troubleshooting yang benar. Dalam troubleshooting ada istilah diagnosis, yaitu langkah penemuan gejala kerusakan jika ada dan penentuan pemeriksaan untuk menemukan solusi permasalahan yang ada. Pemerikasaan tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan memeriksa komponen – komponen utama dalam Sistem AC menggunakan alat ukur feeler gauge pada kompresor dan multimeter pada kopling magnetik serta evaporator apakah masih berfungsi normal sesuai standar yang ada di dalam buku manual pedoman perawatan dan perbaikan Sistem AC kendaraan. Setelah hal tersebut ditemukan, kemudian langkah perbaikan dapat dilaksanakan. Hasil nilai tahanan koil kopling magnetik diperoleh 3,9 Ohm dan celah kopling magnet diperoleh 0,5 mm. Hasil nilai tahanan pada instalasi blower pada tiga varian kecepatan yaitu posisi low 2,6 Ohm, posisi medium 0,7 Ohm, dan posisi high 0 Ohm sedangkan nilai tahanan pada motor blower sebesar 4 Ohm. Hasil pengukuran diperoleh masih dalam batas servis atau masih dalam rentang standar berdasarkan buku manual Toyota Great Corolla Tipe 4A-FE. Oleh karena itu tidak ditemukan permasalahan pada sistem AC tersebut dan dapat disimpulkan bahwa kondisi sistem AC pada Mobil Toyota Great Corolla Tipe 4A-FE tersebut masih dalam kondisi normal dan layak untuk digunakan. Tidak dilakukan langkah perbaikan pada Sistem AC ini hanya saja dilakukan perawatan berkala untuk memastikan semua komponen dalam kondisi normal.

Abstract

Pemakaian Motor Diesel dalam jangka waktu tertentu akan menurunkan performa mesinnya sehingga perlu dilakukan perawatan berkala. Metode dalam perawatan berkala Motor Diesel diantaranya dengan kalibrasi pompa injeksi dan injektor. Kalibrasi pompa injeksi dan injektor dilakukan untuk mendapatkan bentuk pengabutan (atomisasi) bahan bakar yang baik. Indikator kualitas pengabutan bahan bakar dapat ditinjau dari volume dan tekanan penginjeksian yang sesuai dengan standard atau tidak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh kalibrasi pompa injeksi tipe inline dan injektor pada Motor Diesel 6 silinder terhadap volume dan tekanan penginjeksian. Metode kalibrasi yang pertama adalah menghubungkan pompa injeksi pada alat kalibrasi dan menghubungkan porosnya pada motor penggerak dengan putaran 1100 rpm. Kedua, mengaktifkan saklar AC dan DC agar solenoid aktif dan membuka katup sehingga bahan bakar dapat mengalir, hal ini dilakukan selama 1 menit. Langkah selanjutnya adalah memeriksa tekanan penginjeksian dan volume bahan bakar yang keluar lalu dibandingkan dengan standarnya. Untuk mendapatkan hasil yang sesuai standard maka dilakukan penyetelan aliran bahan bakar dengan memutar fuel load adjusting screw pada pompa injeksi setiap 90° dan adjusting screw pada injector. Hasil dari pengujian setelah dilakukan kalibrasi diperoleh hasil yang sesuai standard yaitu tekanan penginjeksian 22 MPa atau 3200 psi dan volume penginjeksian rata-rata 13,5 cc.

Abstract

The service program aims to increase students' interest in literacy at SD Negeri Teganing through the Creative Literacy Zone program. The main problem faced by the school is the low interest in reading due to the lack of library facilities and unattractive book collections. The method used in this program is the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) which involves various stages ranging from needs analysis to evaluation of program effectiveness. The main activities included literacy counseling, creation of a creative literacy zone, socialization of literacy tree filling, and a literacy competition titled Rangkaian Warna Rajutan Cerita. Survey results showed a significant increase in students' interest in reading after the program was implemented. Before the program, only about 49% of students had the habit of reading, while after the program was held, this figure increased to 79%. This success shows that an interactive and creative literacy environment can increase student engagement in reading and writing, as evidenced by the significant increase in the number of students who have the habit of reading by 30%. This program is expected to be a sustainable model to improve literacy in other primary schools

Abstract

Economic development continues to change along with the progress of the times, and MSMEs have a very crucial role in strengthening the foundation of a sustainable economy. This training program was implemented based on the results of observations showing that MSME actors in Segajih Hamlet are still limited in utilizing digital technology to develop their businesses. The purpose of this training is to provide the knowledge and skills needed to optimize the use of social media and other digital platforms, so that MSMEs in Segajih Hamlet can compete more effectively in an increasingly globally connected market. This community service method uses training and mentoring. Training and mentoring include several stages, namely preparation, organization, implementation, and evaluation, which focus on marketing through social media platforms such as Facebook, Shopee, and TikTok Shop. The results of the study conducted after the mentoring showed a significant increase in the understanding and application of digital marketing strategies among MSME actors by 33%, Then for the KWT Market Reach of Segajih Village there was an increase of 125%, Then also for information related to MSMEs in Segajih Village there was an increase of 67%. The increase has a positive impact on the increasing number of buyers at the KWT Market in Segajih Hamlet, which initially only had 15 buyers to 71 buyers. With digitalization, MSMEs in Segajih Hamlet have not only become better known, but have also been able to expand their market reach more effectively, so that they can increase their competitiveness and business sustainability in the global market, and strengthen their contribution to the local and national economy. In addition, the implementation of digital marketing allows MSMEs to be more flexible and adaptive to rapid market changes, and gives them the opportunity to innovate and increase their competitiveness in the increasingly advanced digital era

Abstract

Introduction – VI (Vacuum Infusion) method. The HLC consist of 1 ply carbon woven roving carbon 4 plies glass fiber woven roving (WR-WR), and another variation is 1 ply carbon woven roving and 4 plies glass fiber chopped strand mat (WR-CSM). The different types of glass fiber on the carbon woven roving of HLC is objecting to this research. The manufacture of HLC by VI using 0.8 Bar pressure to flow the polyester resin. The panel HLC cutting according to the ASTM (American Standard Testing and Material) D3039 for tensile strength and ASTM D790 for the flexural test of HLC. The HLC mechanical strength depends on the excellent bonding in the interfacial laminate stress. The direction of WR-WR gives a good effect against tensile load, and the fracture after the test is minor multiple cracks (ductile) and lowest delamination fracture. The WR-WR has the highest tensile stress and modulus by 162.9 MPa and 5.2 GPa, respectively. The flexural test has been resulted in the highest modulus by 8.8 GPa. These mechanical characteristics according to applicated on Savonius Blade Turbine. Purpose – Knowing the mechanical strength of the Carbon/Glass-reinforced hybrid laminate composite, which is suitable for application to the savonius turbine blade Methodology/Approach – We are composing one carbon fiber and four glass fibers in a WR-CSM and WR-WR arrangement. The process of making hybrid laminate composite with the Vacuum Infusion method. Findings – The result of this research is to choose a fiber arrangement that has high mechanical strength and good bonding between fiber layers. Originality/ Value/ Implication – The composite manufacture with vacuum infusion process produces a thin product which light and strong properties.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid 19 yang melanda seluruh dunia telah berdampak terhadap berbagai sektor terutama sektor ekonomi dan perdagangan. Di Indonesia, tentu saja hal tersebut berdampak kepada para pelaku Usaha Mikro, Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) yang kurang memiliki ketahanan dan fleksibilitas dalam menghadapi Pandemi. Hal ini dikarenakan beberapa hal seperti tingkat digitalisasi yang masih rendah, kesulitan dalam mengakses teknologi dan kurangnya pemahaman tentang strategi bertahan dalam bisnis. Tujuan Kuliah Kerja Nyata Pembelajaran Pemberdayaan Masyarakat (KKN PPM) hadir di desa Beran Kidul Sleman untuk menguatkan nama brand/ merek sebagai upaya untuk memenangkan pasar di tengah persaingan yang ketat serta pengadaan alat mixer untuk meningkatkan produksi. Sasaran program adalah kelompok usaha produk sabun cuci piring yang terdiri dari 3 keluarga yang mengalami kendala dalam produksi dan pemasaran apalagi di tengah Pandemi Covid 19 berdampak pada penjualan menurun dan mitra belum memanfaatkan teknologi untuk menjangkau konsumen. Metode yang di gunakan adalah Penyuluhan dan Pendampingan Digitalisasi Marketing beserta piranti Branding Image. Output Kegiatan Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan, kini mitra mampu meningkatkan penjualan, memenuhi permintaan hingga 2 kali lipat. Selain itu mitra sudah memiliki pemahaman penguatan Branding awareness dan digitalisasi marketing. Untuk mendukung digitalisasi marketing, pengabdi melatih cara membuat toko online via media sosial bisnis dan pelatihan penyusunan konten untuk di upload seperti foto produk dan informasi produk. Mitra kini memiliki toko online di Marketplace Shopee.
