Abstract

The service program aims to increase students' interest in literacy at SD Negeri Teganing through the Creative Literacy Zone program. The main problem faced by the school is the low interest in reading due to the lack of library facilities and unattractive book collections. The method used in this program is the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) which involves various stages ranging from needs analysis to evaluation of program effectiveness. The main activities included literacy counseling, creation of a creative literacy zone, socialization of literacy tree filling, and a literacy competition titled Rangkaian Warna Rajutan Cerita. Survey results showed a significant increase in students' interest in reading after the program was implemented. Before the program, only about 49% of students had the habit of reading, while after the program was held, this figure increased to 79%. This success shows that an interactive and creative literacy environment can increase student engagement in reading and writing, as evidenced by the significant increase in the number of students who have the habit of reading by 30%. This program is expected to be a sustainable model to improve literacy in other primary schools

Abstract

Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) leakage remains a major safety concern in households, restaurants, and micro, small, and medium enterprises because leaked combustible gas can accumulate rapidly and trigger fire or explosion. This paper presents a focused review of Arduino- and Internet of Things (IoT)-based LPG gas leak detection systems, emphasizing sensing technologies, embedded architectures, alert mechanisms, performance indicators, and reliability limitations. In response to reviewer concerns, the literature base was expanded from a small set of local prototype papers to more than fifty international peer-reviewed studies from Scopus-indexed journals and proceedings, covering metal oxide semiconductor sensors, MEMS gas sensors, wireless sensor networks, IoT security, low-power communication, signal processing, and TinyML-based gas detection. The synthesis shows that MQ-series sensors remain dominant in low-cost prototypes because of their availability and simple analog interface; however, their practical reliability is constrained by cross-sensitivity, humidity and temperature dependence, heater power consumption, aging, baseline drift, and insufficient calibration. IoT integration improves remote awareness through Wi-Fi, GSM, LoRa, Zigbee, or cloud dashboards. However, it also introduces latency, network outage, service availability, data integrity, and cybersecurity issues. Recent studies indicate that multi-sensor fusion, calibrated testing, edge intelligence, and reliability-oriented design provide a more credible pathway than threshold-based prototypes alone. Future LPG safety systems should therefore combine robust sensing, standardized performance reporting, local fail-safe alarms, secure IoT communication, energy-aware operation, ergonomic installation, and long-term field validation before large-scale household or industrial deployment.

Abstract

Global electricity demand continues to rise, increasing dependence on fossil fuels and accelerating greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate instability. Small-scale hydropower offers a clean alternative, particularly for distributed and space-constrained applications where conventional hydropower systems are difficult to implement. Among available concepts, the Savonius Pico-Hydro Turbine (SPHT) is attractive because of its simple structure, low production cost, and good self-starting capability. However, previous studies have mainly focused on mechanical performance, while the combined evaluation of mechanical response, electrical output, generator efficiency, and hydrodynamic flow behavior remains limited. The novelty of this study lies in the use of a quarter-circular blade profile instead of the commonly used semi-circular Savonius blade, combined with experimental electromechanical testing, CFD-based flow visualization, and deflector-angle variation. Two- and four-blade SPHT configurations were examined under realistic loading conditions, while CFD simulation was employed to clarify velocity distribution, pressure loading, momentum exchange, and deflector-guided flow patterns. The results showed that the four-blade rotor produced higher torque and a stronger electrical response than the two-blade rotor. CFD contour analysis supported these findings by showing stronger momentum exchange and more distributed pressure loading around the higher-solidity rotor. The deflector investigation further indicated that a 30° deflector angle provided the most effective flow redirection and pressure distribution among the evaluated cases. Overall, the proposed experimental and numerical framework provides a practical basis for optimizing quarter-circular SPHT design through blade configuration selection and deflector-angle tuning, supporting compact and reliable pico-scale clean energy generation for remote and low-infrastructure applications.
