Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematik siswa antara yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif dan yang diajar dengan model direct instruction ditinjau kategori motivasi belajar. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa SMPN 17 Kendari sebanyak 231 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah purposive sampling dan acak. Data diperoleh dengan menggunakan tes dan angket. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial pada taraf nyata 5%. Hasil penelitian ini adalah bahwa ada pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif dengan pendekatan saintifik dan model pembelajaran direct instruction dengan pendekatan saintifik terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematik siswa, baik secara keseluruhan maupun ditinjau dari kategori motivasi belajar.Kata kunci: Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis, pembelajaran Kooperatif, Direct Instruction, Motivasi Belajar, pendekatan Santifik.Abstract: This study aims to determine differences in the improvement of students' critical thinking skills between those taught with cooperative learning models and those taught by the direct instruction model in terms of learning motivation categories. The population of this study was all students of SMPN 17 Kendari as many as 231 students. The sampling technique was purposive sampling and random. Data were obtained using tests and questionnaires. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially at 5% real level. The results of this study are that there is an effect of the application of cooperative learning models with the scientific approach and direct instruction learning models with a scientific approach to improving students' critical thinking skills, both as a whole and in terms of learning motivation categories.Keywords: critical thinking ability, cooperative learning, direct instruction, learning motivation, scientific approach

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konsep etnomatematika geometri yang terkandung pada permainan tradisional anak masyarakat Poogalampa Buton Selatan. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini adalah wawancara semi terstruktur. Pemeriksaan keabsahan data dilakukan dengan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di dalam permainan tradisional anak masyarakat Poogalampa Buton Selatan terdapat beberapa bentuk geometri yang memuat konsep-konsep: (a) Bola; (b) Trapesium; (c) Persegi panjang; (d) Segitiga. Permainan tradisional anak yang dimaksud adalah kasede-sede, ase, pekatende, kabawa-bawa, dan baguli. Konsep geometri yang digunakan dalam permainan tradisional anak masyarakat Poogalampa Buton Selatan tersebut mempunyai kesamaan dengan konsep matematika formal di Sekolah Dasar.Kata kunci: Etnomatematika, Permainan Tradisional Anak Abstract: This study aims to analyze the concept of geometrical ethnomatematics contained in the traditional games of the children of the South Poogalampa community of Buton. The data collection technique of this study was a semi-structured interview. Checking the validity of the data is done by triangulating the source. The results of the study showed that in the traditional games of children of the South Poogalampa community of Buton, there are several geometric shapes containing concepts: (a) Ball; (b) Trapezoid; (c) Rectangle; (d) Triangles. The concept of geometry used in traditional games of the children of South Poogalampa community of Buton has similarities with the concept of formal mathematics in elementary schools. Keywords: Ethnomatematics, Traditional Games of Children

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan Pemahaman dan Penalaran Matematis siswa SMA yang diajar dengan menggunakan Model pembelajaran Kooperatif tipe STAD. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksperimen preetest-postest control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa  kelas XI-IPA SMAN1 Kendari, sampel penelitian diambil dua kelas dengan teknik Cluster random sampling. Kelompok eksperimen diberi perlakuan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe STAD sedangkan kelompok kontrol diberikan pembelajaran konvensional. Sampel yang terlibat sebanyak 76 orang siswa.  Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi tes kemampuan pemahaman; tes kemampuan penalaran; angket sikap matematika  siswa; lembar pengamatan aktivitas siswa; lembar isian untuk guru. Untuk keperluan pengujian hipotesis, data dianalisis dengan uji t (Independent sampel test )  dan dilengkapi dengan analisis deskriftif dan kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data  kemampuan pemahaman dan penalaran matematis siswa, peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman dan penalaran matematis   kelompok siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD lebih baik daripada kelompok siswa yang belajar secara konvensional. Aktivitas siswa dalam proses  pembelajaran yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD sangat aktif. Respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD adalah  positif.Kata kunci: Kemampuan Pemahaman matematis, Kemampuan Penalaran Matematis, Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe STAD. Abstract: This study aimed to find the improvement of students’ math comprehension and analysis ability taught under STAD type cooperative learning model. The study employed pres test control group experiment design. The population was all students of class XI-IPA in SMAN 1 Kendari, the sample of the study was two classes with cluster random sampling technique. Experiment group was given STAD type cooperative learning model while control group was given conventional learning model. The sample involved was 76 students. The instruments used in the study comprised of : comprehension test, analysis test, behavioral math questionnaires, students’ observation activity, and teacher answer sheets. Hypothesis was tested by using test (independent sample test) and the analysis using descriptive and qualitative analysis. Based on the result of data analysis students’ math comprehension and analysis ability, the improvement of math comprehension and analysis ability of students taught under STAD type cooperative learning was better than students taught under conventional model. Students’ activity in learning process using STAD type was active. Abstract

Abstrak: Rendahnya partisipasi siswa dalam pembelajaran berdampak pada rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah matematika. Penelitian eksperimen ini dilaksanakan untuk menguji pengaruh model inkuiri terbimbing dengan pendekatan saintifik terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa. Desain penelitian ini adalah desain kelompok kontrol pretest-posttest. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 17 Kendari. Sampel diambil dari dua kelas dengan teknik purposive sampling. Kedua kelas kemudian diacak untuk menentukan kelas eksperimen (diajar dengan model inkuiri terbimbing dengan pendekatan saintifik) dan kelas kontrol (diajar dengan model konvensional). Instrumen penelitian adalah pretest dan posttest kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika, skala kemandirian belajar, dan lembar observasi. Hasil analisis deskriptif dan uji t menunjukkan bahwa partisipasi siswa meningkat dan penerapan model inkuiri terbimbing dengan pendekatan saintifik lebih berpengaruh daripada model konvensional terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa baik keseluruhan maupun kategori kemandirian belajar.Kata kunci: kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik, kemandirian belajar, pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing, pendekatan saintifik Abstract: The low participation of students in learning has an impact on students' low ability to solve mathematical problems. This experimental research was conducted to examine the effect of guided inquiry models with a scientific approach to students' mathematical problem solving abilities. The design of this study was pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study was all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 17 Kendari. Samples were taken from two classes with purposive sampling technique. The two classes are then randomized to determine the experimental class (taught by the guided inquiry model with the scientific approach) and the control class (taught by conventional models). Research instruments are pretest and posttest mathematical problem solving skills, self-reguleted learning scale, and observation sheets. The results of descriptive analysis and t test showed that student participation increased and the application of the guided inquiry model with a scientific approach was more influential than the conventional model on students' mathematical problem solving abilities both in whole and in the category of self-reguleted learning. Keywords: the abilities of mathematics problems solving, self-regulated learning, guided inquiry learning, scientific approach

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan rata-rata peningkatan kemampuan CPS siswa yang diajar dengan model PBL dengan pendekatan Open-Ended dan model pembelajaran konvensional; mengetahui perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan CPS antara siswa yang diajar dengan model PBL dengan pendekatan Open-Ended dan model pembelajaran konvensional ditinjau dari Students’ Belief about Mathematics. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada siswa kelas XI IPA SMAS Kartika XX-2 Kendari. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data dianalisis dengan statistik inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa secara signifikan rata-rata peningkatan kemampuan CPS siswa yang diajar dengan model PBL dengan pendekatan Open-Ended lebih tinggi dibandingkan siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran konvensional; terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan CPS antara siswa yang diajar dengan model PBL dengan pendekatan Open-Ended dan model pembelajaran konvensional ditinjau dari Students’ Belief about Mathematics.Kata kunci: CPS, PBL, Students’ Belief about Mathematics.Abstract: This study aimed find out the difference in the average of improvement in the CPS ability of students who were taught under the PBL model with Open-Ended approach and conventional model of learning; find out the difference in the average of improvement in the CPS ability of students who were taught under the PBL model with Open-Ended approach and those who were taught under conventional model of learning, as viewed from the Student’s Beliefs about Mathematics. This research is conducted at students of class XI IPA at SMAS Kartika XX-2 in Kendari. Samples were determined using the purposive sampling technique. Data analyzed by using inferential statistics. Results showed that significantly the average increase in the ability of CPS students who are taught with PBL model with Open-Ended approach is higher than students who are taught with conventional learning model; there are differences in the ability of CPS among students who taught using PBL model with Open-Ended approach and conventional learning model from Students' Belief about Mathematics. Keywords: CPS, PBL, Students’ Belief about Mathematics.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui bentuk dan nilai etnomatematika yang terdapat dalam tradisi pasali masyarakat Buton. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian eksploratif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, dokummentasi, dan gabungan/triangulasi. Pemeriksaan keabsahan data dilakukan dengan teknik triangulasi sumber, metode dan investigasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat konsep-konsep matematika dalam tradisi pasali masyarakat Buton, yaitu konsep rasio, proporsi dan aritmetika sosial. Konsep rasio tradisi pasali berkaitan dengan besaran pasali yang diterima oleh syara hukumu, masyarakat dan keluarga. Konsep proporsi tradisi pasali dapat ditemukan pada proporsi pasali yang diberikan. Konsep proporsi pasali dipahami sebagai pecahan. Konsep aritmetika sosial tradisi pasali dapat ditemukan pada penentuan besaran persentase pasali dari syarana hukumu, masyarakat dan keluarga yang dipanggil. Nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam tradisi pasali masyarakat Buton adalah nilai praktis/nilai guna, nilai budaya, nilai sosial, nilai moral, nilai kedisiplinan, nilai spiritual, nilai ekonomi, dan nilai keadilan.Kata kunci: Etnomatematika, pasali masyarakat Buton. Abstract: This study aims to determine the form and value of ethnomatematics found in the tradition of the Buton community pasali. This research includes the type of explorative research with an ethnographic approach. The data collection technique of this research was carried out by observation, interview, documentary, and joint / triangulation. Checking the validity of the data is done by triangulation of sources, methods and investigations. The results showed that there were mathematical concepts in the tradition of the Pason community of Buton, namely the concept of ratio, proportion and social arithmetic. The concept of the ratio of the Pasali tradition is related to the size of the pasali accepted by the law, society and family. The concept of the proportion of the Pasali tradition can be found in the proportions of the Pasali given. The concept of pasali proportions is understood as a fraction. The social arithmetic concept of the Pasali tradition can be found in the determination of the percentage of pasali from the legal syarana, the community and the family that is called. The values contained in the tradition of the Pason community of Buton are practical values / use values, cultural values, social values, moral values, disciplinary values, spiritual values, economic values, and values of justice. Keywords: Ethnomatematics, pasali community of Buton

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi nilai matematikakotikadalam masyarakat Buton. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksploratif.Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah tokoh adat dan tokoh masyarakat. Budaya kotika bagi masyarakat Buton sangatlah penting, karena kotikasudah menjadi acuan dalam aktivitas kehidupan bermasyarakat misalnya melaksanakan pernikahan, pindah rumah atau bangun rumah, berpergian, dan lain sebagainya. Kotika juga merupakan suatu ketentuan yang membahas tentang pengaruh baik dan pengaruh nahas dalam suatu kehidupan manusia sehari-hari berdasarkan atas peredaran bulan sebagai proses alam yang setiap saat memiliki makna mitologis yang mempengaruhi segala aktivitas manusia.Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Uji keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan dianalisis melalui reduksi data, penyajian data serta verifikasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwanilai matematika kotikadalam masyarakat Buton adalahnilai praktis atau nilai guna, nilai disiplin, nilai budaya dan nilai sosial.Kata kunci: Nilai matematika, nilai Kotika,Budaya Masyarakat Buton. Abstract: His study aims to explore the mathematical value of kotika in Buton society. This research is exploratory research. The data sources in this study are traditional leaders and community leaders. Kotika culture for the people of Buton is very important, because kotika has become a reference in community life activities such as carrying out marriages, moving houses or building houses, traveling, and so on. Kotika is also a provision that discusses the good influence and ill-fated influence of everyday human life based on the circulation of the moon as a natural process which at any time has a mythological meaning that affects all human activities. The technique of collecting data uses observation, interviews, and documentation. est the validity of the data using source triangulation and analyzed through data reduction, data display and verification. The results of this study indicate that the mathematical value of kotika in Buton society is practical value or use value, discipline value, cultural value and social value. Keywords: Mathematical values, Kotika values, Buton Community Culture.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penerapan pembelajaran di sekolah belum mampu memaksimalkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematik siswa.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahuipengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran group investigation terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematik baik ditinjau dari seluruh siswa, maupun pada setiap kategori self concept.Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 3 Kendari.Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan Uji-F (Two-Way ANOVA) dan Uji-t(twoindependent sample t-test) dari data N-Gain kemampuan berpikir kritis matematik siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Rata-rata N-Gain kemampuan berpikir kritis matematik siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran group investigation lebih tinggi dari siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran konvensional; (2) Pengaruh model pembelajaran group investigation lebih dominan dari pengaruh self concept terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematik siswa (3) Kemampuan berpikir kritis matematik siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran group investigation lebih tinggi dari siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran konvensionalbaik ditinjau dari seluruh siswa, maupun pada setiap kategori self concept.Kata kunci: Kemampuan berpikir kritis matematik, self concept, pembelajaran group investigation. Abstract: Learning practice in school has not been able to maximize students’ critical thinking ability in mathematics. This study aims to comprehend the effect of applying learning model of group investigation towards critical thinking ability of mathematics both in terms of all students, as well as in each their self-concept category. The population in this study were all high school students in the year 10 of SMA Negeri 3 Kendari. Data were analyzed using F-Test (Two-Way ANOVA) and t-Test (two independent sample t-test) from the N-Gain data of students’ critical thinking ability in mathematics. The results showed that: (1) The average N-Gain of students’ critical thinking ability in mathematics who were taught with group investigation learning model was higher than students who were taught with conventional learning model; (2) The effect of group investigation learning model is more dominant than the effect of self-concept towards students' critical thinking ability in mathematics.; (3) Critical thinking abilities of students in mathematics who were taught using group investigation learning model were higher compared to the conventional learning model not only in terms of all students, but also in each self-concept category. Keywords: critical thinking abilities in mathematics, self-concept, group investigation learning

Abstract

Abstrak: Jenis penelitian ini merupan penelitian Quasi Experimental dengan Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 5 Baubau. Pengambilan sampel kelas dilakukan dengan cluster random sampling. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1) Penerapan model pembelajaran PBL berpengaruh secara signifikan daripada model pembelajaran konvensional terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa, (2) Penerapan model pembelajaran PBL berpengaruh secara tidak signifikan daripada model pembelajaran konvensional terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa ditinjau dari kemandirian belajar tinggi, (3) Penerapan model pembelajaran PBL berpengaruh secara signifikan daripada model pembelajaran konvensional terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa ditinjau dari kemandirian belajar sedang, dan (4) Penerapan model pembelajaran PBL berpengaruh secara signifikan daripada model pembelajaran konvensional terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa ditinjau dari kemandirian belajar rendah.Kata kunci: Kemampuan penalaran matematis, kemandirian belajar, Problem Based Learning

Abstract

The study was a qualitative research that focused to describe students’ critical thinking competence in mathematics. The subjects were six students from the X MIA-2 class of SMA 11 Kendari consisted of one male student categorized has a high self-concept, one male student categorized has a moderate self-concept, one male student categorized has a low self-concept, one female student categorized has a high self-concept, one female student categorized has a moderate self-concept, and one male student categorized has a low self-concept. In collecting data, the researcher used test instrument and questionnaire which were critical thinking competence test and self-concept questionnaire. Furthermore, the data collected were analyzed based on five phases of students’ critical thinking ability in mathematics. The result of the study revealed that male students had better critical thinking abilities than female students. A better self-concept category will contribute to enhance student’s critical thinking in mathematics
