Abstract

This paper aims to examine marine tourism as an empirical phenomenon. To gain insight into the systemic conditions of the collaboration process, it is observed from the point of view of the principles of the collaboration process from Roberts, Van Wyk & Dhanpat. The authors identify the principles implemented in the collaborative process between the Community, Village-Owned Enterprises, and the Government in a collaborative network towards sustainable marine ecotourism. This analytical descriptive study used case survey methods in the partnership networks. The data is obtained through a qualitative approach, observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that stakeholders involved in the collaboration contribute to realizing a common purpose and providing mutual benefits, but the quality of collaboration is not optimal because it is still informal. Lessons learned from the application of collaboration principles on marine tourism in the Lusi Mud Island, Sidoarjo Regency, Indonesia are: the importance of trust and enabling environmental factors that collaboration to be realized; the importance of the characteristics of community leaders who have a deep concern as leaders, and ensure the participation of local communities in the development and management stages of marine tourism towards marine ecotourism.

Abstract

This article discusses the role of stakeholders from the descendants of Kings, who collaborated with the government and private sectors in managing of the pilgrimage tourism heritage site of the tomb of the Kings of Asta Tinggi, in Sumenep district. The purpose of this study was to investigate the various factors that influence stakeholder collaborations in the management of sustainable pilgrimage tourism and which stakeholder groups have a sustained traditional of authority. This qualitative research uses a case study approach and data collection through in-depth unstructured interviews and observations. This study seeks to take a new perspective in the analysis of the collaborative governance theory in the face of the social environment factor. The study results show that stakeholders, facilitative leadership, and enabling environmental factors become resources and strengths in the success of collaborative governance even though the role of private and government sectors are still limited. The findings reveal that stakeholders from the community, namely the traditional group as a companion of pilgrims, have an important role in collaboration, because they can only be replaced by the descendants, while the collaborative initiation comes from the community. We suggest the importance of government initiation to expand collaboration networks and facilitate the formation of the institutional administrator of Asta Tinggi site, through reconciliation which represents two descendants of Kings. The findings of this study are expected to enrich the theory of collaborative governance.

Abstract

Abstract

Congestive heart failure is a clinical problem that occurs in patients who have abnormalities, either hereditary or acquired in the structure and function of the heart, causing the development of a series of clinical symptoms of weakness and tightness as well as clinical signs of edema and crackles which result in hospitalization, poor quality of life, and shortened life expectancy. This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and re-hospitalization incidence in heart failure patients in the Kemuning room at Jombang Hospital. The research design used in this study is cross-sectional analytic. The population in this study were all heart failure patients in the Kemuning Room of the Jombang Hospital, with a total of 37 people. A sample of 33 respondents. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The research variable is family support and the dependent variable is the incidence of re-hospitalization in heart failure patients. which were analyzed using chi-square with α = 0.05. The results of this study indicated that the majority (60.6%) of respondents had good family support, numbering 20 people, and the majority (69.7%) of respondents who were re-hospitalized in patients with heart failure were up to six months, totaling 23 people. The analysis results obtained 0.000 <0.005, meaning there is a relationship between family support and the incidence of re-hospitalization in heart failure patients in the Kemuning room at Jombang Hospital. From this research, it is hoped that nurses can maximize the role of the family as one of the support systems in caring for congestive heart failure patients undergoing re-hospitalization.

Abstract

The ecotourism-based community empowerment model is designed to uplift local farmers by fostering the cultivation of organic agricultural plants and promoting sustainable ecotourism by utilizing natural resources and local cultural values. This study aims to illustrate the phenomenon within the community empowerment model for groups of organic farming practitioners engaged in ecotourism, as facilitated by the Center for Environmental Education (PPLH) Seloliman, Trawas, Mojokerto Regency. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach to gather data through in-depth interviews, document analysis, focus group discussions, and field observations. The analysis reveals that the success in empowering local farmers is attributed to the maturity of ecotourism organizations and political development. Furthermore, the research findings indicate that economic empowerment has heightened farmers’ interest in cultivating organic rice due to its enhanced economic value. Simultaneously, social empowerment has broadened farmers’ perspectives, fostering openness to change and enabling them to interact and participate as surrogate hosts for ecotourism guests over a few days. This program carries implications for enhancing farmers’ understanding and commitment to leveraging natural resources and the environment. This study proposes that sustained ecotourism development necessitates a steadfast commitment to preserving environmental benefits and expanding the involvement of local communities. It is essential to uphold a cultural approach prioritizing sustainable ecotourism.

Abstract

Oxygen Ecotourism on Gili Iyang Island has the highest oxygen levels reaching 21.5% above the normal threshold, the highest compared to other regions in Indonesia. This article adopts the collaborative viewpoint of the Quintuple Helix model, to discuss stakeholder interactions and highlight the level of success and identify several problems in the development of oxygen ecotourism on Gili Iyang Island, Sumenep Regency. This qualitative research uses a case study approach and visualizes collective interactions between stakeholders through the following five subsystems: 1) Education system, 2) Economic system, 3) Political system, 4) Media-based and culture-based society, 5) and Natural environment, Natural Environment Society based on the Quintuple Helix model from Carayannis and Campbell (2010). Data collection was carried out through observation, semi-structured interviews, and document review. The research results show that the Political System contributes to the initiation of ecotourism stakeholder collaboration, while an important role in the development of ecotourism has been played by the Higher Education System, as well as media-based and culture-based Societies. However, this collaboration is not yet optimal because it is still informal, and the lack of innovation from the Economic System, as well as the Natural Environment, and the Natural Environment of Society, is still limited. The findings of this research recommend that the role of local government (political system) needs to be increased by developing policies that ensure the maintenance of oxygen levels, increasing innovation in the use of local natural resources to support tourism, and institutionalizing stakeholder collaboration to ensure sustainable collaboration.
