Abstract

Hydroelectric power plants are the newest energy source that hasBgreat potential toBmeet electrical energy needs. On a small scale, hydroelectric power plants are an attractive option to meet energy needs in remote areas, and areas that are difficult to reach with traditional electricity infrastructure. The main component of a hydroelectric power plant is a water turbineBwhich has the task of converting the kinetic energy of water into mechanical energy and into electrical energy through a generator. The type of water turbine used in small-scale hydroelectric power plants, one of which is a verticalBwater turbine or crossflow turbine. Crossflow turbines have the advantageBof using water sources withBvarying flowBdirections, suchBas small rivers. This research method includes making a crossflow turbine prototype, based on the results of calculations in designing and testing a small-scale hydropower prototype that uses 37 bladesBwith a water height of 3 meters. The results of this research produced the highestBturbine power, namely 54,773 Watts, aBwater volume of 0.01 m³ with a water flow of 0.000003691 m³?s with a valve opening of 100°, while the lowestBturbine powerBwas 28,195 Watts, a water volume of 0.011 m³ with a water flow of 0, 000001190 m³?s withBa valve openingBof 75°, with the highest turbine efficiency value of 630.29% obtained when the water volume is 0.01 m³/s with aB100° valve,Bwhile theBlowest turbine efficiency is 1.006% at a water volume of 0.011m³/s s, and the maximum output obtained from testing the vertical water turbine prototype is at a water volume of 0.009 m³ with aBvalve opening of 100° whichNproduces aBturbineBrotation of 142.6 rpm, while at a water volume of 0.011 m³ with a valve opening of 75° which produces a turbineBrotation of 104.1 rpm,BwhileBtheBwater volumeBis 0.01 m³ withBa valveBopening of 100° whichIproduces a turbine rotation of 222.3 rpm, and while the water flow is 0.01 m³ with a valve opening of 75° whichIproduces a turbineIrotationIof 121.6 rpm.

Abstract

Masa globalisasi saat ini sangat bergantung pada kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi guna meningkatkan teknologi. Tujuannya agar proses pemeriksaan suatu barang menjadi lebih mudah, terjangkau, dan aman. Di dunia modern, peralatan elektronik digunakan untuk berbagai keperluan, termasuk penimbangan. Hal ini membuat semua tugas inspeksi yang berkaitan dengan barang-barang yang diproduksi menjadi lebih mudah. Sistem penimbangan yang masih manual akan sangat tidak efektif dan efisien serta memperbesar kesalahan pada manusia (Human Error) dalam hal pencatatan hasil timbangan. Umumnya kesalahan terjadi saat pengecekkan akhir dari suatu produk yang hasilkan, sehingga diperlukan suatu alat yang mendukung penimbangan yang cepat dan akurat. Berangkat dari masalah tersebut diatas, maka penulis mengembangkan suatu mesin yang otomatis berupa Mesin Checkweigher yang dikendalikan sedimikian rupa oleh Controller, Relay, Sensor Berat, Weighing Indicator, dan Motor Listrik Statis AC. Sehingga dengan demikian dapat menghemat waktu, biaya yang murah, akurasi tinggi dan meminimalkan kesalahan manusia. Dalam hal ini penulis berinisiatif untuk membuat tugas akhir “RANCANG BANGUN MESIN CHECKWEIGHER DENGAN TIMBANGAN DIGITAL DAN MOTOR STATIS”.

Abstract

The use of plowing machines is an important innovation in horticultural farming systems because it can increase land efficiency and productivity. This activity aims to analyze the effectiveness of plowing machines in accelerating the soil cultivation process and its impact on increasing the productivity of horticultural farmers in the Jaya Makmur Farmers Group. A descriptive approach was used by observing the plowing machine's working process and comparing it with traditional soil cultivation methods commonly used by farmers. Data were obtained through field observations and interviews with farmer group members. The results showed that the use of plowing machines increased the speed of soil cultivation up to ten times faster than traditional methods. In addition, plowing machines resulted in more even soil inversion, creating more optimal soil conditions for horticultural plant growth. These findings confirm that the use of plowing machines not only saves time and labor but also has the potential to increase crop productivity through more efficient soil management. Thus, the use of plowing machines is a strategic solution to support increased efficiency and yields in horticultural cultivation.

Abstract

Woodcraft micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) face relatively high occupational risks due to the intensive use of machinery, sharp tools, and continuous exposure to wood dust and noise. Limited knowledge and weak implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) principles remain key factors contributing to the elevated risk of workplace accidents. This community service program aimed to improve knowledge, risk awareness, and safe work behavior among woodcraft workers in Mojowarno District, Jombang Regency. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using field observation, semi-structured interviews, pre-test and post-test, and activity documentation. The training was conducted on 17–20 September 2025 and involved ten woodcraft workers. The results indicated an improvement in participants’ understanding of the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), the application of safe work procedures, and better organization of the work environment.
