Abstract

Islamic banking can play a significant role in developing the halal industry in South Sulawesi. This study examines the strategies for developing the halal industry through Islamic banking financing models and the support of the local government in South Sulawesi. The study uses field research and secondary data to collect information from Islamic banks, the South Sulawesi Provincial Government, halal industry business players, and the community. The findings show that the halal industry in South Sulawesi is experiencing positive growth. The Provincial Government supports the halal industry by providing a free halal certification program for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and small and medium industries (IKM). However, Islamic banking does not directly provide financing to the halal industry. The study recommends the following models for distributing halal industry financing: community-based distribution, Islamic boarding school-based distribution, mosque-based distribution, and MSME distribution guided by the government, institutions, State-owned enterprises (BUMN), and Regional-owned enterprises (BUMD).

Abstract

Abstract. This study analyzes the effectiveness of non-judicial Islamic banking dispute resolution in Indonesia, such as mediation, Islamic arbitration, and negotiation. These methods are more efficient and align with Islamic values promoting peace. Despite their relatively high success rate, challenges remain, including low public awareness, limited institutions, and incomplete regulations. The study recommends strengthening institutions, enhancing human resources, and improving regulations to optimize non-judicial dispute resolution in line with Islamic principles and national law.

Abstract

Abstract

Education and training programs for civil servants (ASN) have been intensified, yet bureaucratic performance, particularly in mining supervision, remains suboptimal. This study aims to examine the effect of education and training on ASN performance with competence as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative approach with PLS-SEM analysis on 41 respondents from the Inspector of Mines Office in North Maluku Province. This study found that education does not have a significant effect on either the competence or performance of civil servants. In contrast, training has a significant effect on competence but not directly on performance. Competence was proven to have a significant effect on performance and mediates the relationship between training and performance, but does not mediate the relationship between education and performance. These findings indicate that improvements in civil servant performance in the mineral and coal subsector are more strongly influenced by competencies gained through training rather than formal education, highlighting the strategic role of competency-based training programs in enhancing performance.
