Abstract

This study not only aims to discribe derivation of the word do?a, but also composition of do?a. For this purpose, researcher uses qualitative descriptive method with morphological analysis. The result shows that the word do?a in Surah al-Baqarah 186 is mentioned three times with derivation form: ????; gerund = praying, ?????; subject = prayer, dan ???; past verb = prayed. In addition, there are two things in the composition of doa, namely istijabah (?????????? ??) = hard work and iman (???????? ??) = confidence. So, whoever want to be responded by God, he must do both of those things. Indeed, since someone prayed to God, from that time God also began to respond to his do?a.

Abstract

There are several theories in qualitative research including Grounded Theory (GT). It is a theory discovered, developed, and achieved by collecting and analyzing data systematically about specific phenomena. it is the result of a study called grounded Research (GR). The purpose of this study is to present the role of Strauss's Grounded research in Arabic research (PBA) and the types of GT produced. This study uses qualitative-descriptive research, with primary data sources from PBA that have been published in the last five years, namely 15 topics. The results of this study indicate that the roles of GR in PBA as a type of qualitative research are 5 topics, as a qualitative approach are 8 topics, as a qualitative method is 1 topic, and as a qualitative technique is 1 topic. In general, the role of GR is as an approach in qualitative research. The types of GT are 10 topics in the form of theory, 2 topics in the form of hypothesis, and 3 topics are in the form of assumptions. In general, the result of GR is GT in the form of theory.

Abstract

This study investigates the post-pandemic Arabic reading proficiency of newly enrolled students at an Islamic senior high school, with a focus on identifying disparities in comprehension and decoding skills. Using a quantitative descriptive design, the research assessed 118 students through a structured performance test measuring four core components: letter recognition, vocabulary understanding, sentence comprehension, and short discourse interpretation. Data were supported by observation logs and documentation. Results show that while 84% of students demonstrated strong decoding abilities, only 38% could comprehend simple sentences, and less than 25% could understand short texts. The analysis further revealed a stark proficiency gap between students from Madrasah Aliyah (MA) and those from senior high schools (SMA), indicating that prior exposure and institutional background significantly affect reading competence. This study contributes to Arabic education research by providing diagnostic insight into the cognitive impact of pandemic-era learning and the need for targeted remediation. However, its limitation lies in the single-site context and lack of longitudinal tracking, suggesting a need for future multi-phase studies to explore intervention outcomes.

The Story of Prophet Yusuf in the Quran is the only story that is presented in a single surah with a complete narrative. The spiritual, leadership, and integrity traits of Prophet Yusuf serve as exemplarycharacteristics that educate the interlocutors. This qualitative descriptive research, utilizing literary psychology theory, aimed to analyze the motivations of Prophet Yusuf based on Abraham H. Maslow's theory of needs. The primary data for this articlewas derived from Surah Yusuf in the Quran. The analysis technique employed was interactive, involving data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions/verification. The result of this research found that in the story of Yusufthere were five motivation needs, namely: safety, physiological, social, esteem, and self-actualization needs. All of the motivation needs of Yusuf were fulfilled properly so he could have a good humanistic personality that benefited him and the others around him also the others were far from him. This research had implications for character transformation among the interlocutors based on the exemplary behaviour of Prophet Yusuf in fulfilling their needs, as proposed by Abraham Maslow.
