Abstract

The research is based on the problem of low mathematical communication skills of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Bandar Lampung. The use of learning models that do not meet the learning needs of students is one of the reasons for the low ability. Therefore, this study aims to analyze students' mathematical communication skills through the application of the SAVI learning model. This research is a quasi-experimental study, with a population of all eighth grade students. The samples were two classes, namely students of class VIII C as the experimental class, which amounted to 33 students and class VIII H as the control class, which amounted to 32 students. The sample was determined by the Cluster Random Sampling technique. Students' mathematical communication skills are measured by tests that have been tested for validity and reliability. Hypothesis test using t test. The results of the hypothesis test show that tcount > ttable, thus it is found that the average mathematical communication ability that applies the SAVI model is higher than those who apply the conventional model. It can be said that there is an effect of the application of the SAVI model on the mathematical communication skills of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Bandar Lampung.

Abstract

Society 5.0 requires the ability to think critically to deal with various changes. The ability to think critically in an era that emphasizes the role of humans as the center of civilization through the use of digital technology is not in line with the fact that the ability to think critically in class VIII odd semester students at SMP Negeri 26 Bandar Lampung in the 2022/2023 academic year. The ability to think critically mathematically in class VIII students is still a problem, for this reason this study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Open Ended approach on students' critical thinking ability in mathematics. This quasi-experimental study, with a population of all VIII grade students, totaling 227 students, while the samples were VIII E class as the experimental class and VIII G class as the control class. Samples were taken using the Cluster Random Sampling technique and to determine students' mathematical critical thinking skills were given a test in the form of a description of 5 questions which had previously been tested for validity and reliability. From the results of testing the hypothesis using the t test, the value of thitung = 3.35 is obtained. From the t distribution table at a significant level of 5% it is known that tdaftar = t(1-α) = 1.67. Thus thitung > tdaftar, so it can be concluded that the implementation of the Open Ended approach can affect the mathematical critical thinking skills of Grade VIII students in odd semesters at SMP Negeri 26 Bandar Lampung in the 2022/2023 academic year.

Abstract

The problems contained in this study are motivated by 1) low learning outcomes, 2) economic learning that has been implemented so far has not used teaching materials in the form of LKPD, 3) the learning process pays little attention to the condition of students in terms of abilities, talents, interests and needs, so that student learning outcomes are still low. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of validity, level of attractiveness, convenience and usefulness as well as the level of effectiveness of the development of inquiry-based worksheets to improve economic learning outcomes in KD. describes the international trade of class XI IPS 1 students of SMA Negeri 2 Padang Cermin. This research is a type of research and development, this research is used to produce certain products and test the effectiveness of these products. The resulting product is an inquiry-based LKPD in economics subjects to determine product validation, attractiveness, convenience and usefulness as well as the effectiveness of LKPD which will be developed in improving learning outcomes. The stages of the research carried out refer to the ADDIE development model which includes Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The results showed that the level of effectiveness of students' learning outcomes from this LKPD was also very good because it had a completeness percentage of 90.90% so that it showed very good student learning outcomes. So it can be concluded that the development of inquiry-based LKPD is very feasible to be developed in class XI IPS 1 students of SMA Negeri 2 Padang Cermin. Keywords: Development, Inquiry, Student WorksheetsDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/E3J/v6i2.145-152

Abstract

The research aims to find out (1) To find out the quality of the 5E Learning Cycle-based mathematics module in terms of the validity of teaching materials. (2) To find out the quality of Learning Cycle 5E-based math modules in terms of the practicality of teaching materials. (3) To determine the effectiveness of the Learning Cycle 5E-based mathematics module in terms of students' mathematical problem solving abilities. This research is a development research using the ADDIE development model. Product validation is carried out by 6 expert lecturers in accordance with their fields. Practicality questionnaire to measure the response of class XI students at SMK Negeri 7 Bandar Lampung in product trials and learning achievement tests to measure the effectiveness of the module as teaching material. Material experts on the aspect of content quality obtain an average score of 3.66 on the aspect of determination of coverage get an average score of 3.75 on the Learning Cycle 5E aspect opinion average value of 3.8 with valid criteria. Media experts in the aspect of paper size in the module obtain an average value of 3.75, in the aspect of module skin design (cover) get an average value of 3.83, in the aspect of module content design get an average value of 3.87 with valid criteria .Linguists in the aspect of sentence structure determination, understanding of messages and straightforwardness get an average score of 4 with valid criteria. The mathematics module based on Learning Cycle 5E in Mathematical Logic material is effective in terms of student learning outcomes in Mathematical Logic material which shows 17 students or 56.67% individually completed out of 30 students with an average of 74.38. Thus the Learning Cycle 5E-based learning module is effective as a teaching material for learning mathematics.
