Abstract

The objectives of this experiment were to analyze the effect of periodic injection of HCG hormone on the level of egg maturity and the development of the egg diameter of green catfish (Hemibagrus nemurus), and to determine the differences in the level of egg maturity and development of egg diameter of green catfish which were injected with HCG hormone periodically with different doses. The methods used in the research were experimental method by applying injections of various doses of HCG hormone periodically (0, 100, 200, and 300 IU/kg fish body weight). The experiment was arranged using Completely Randomized Design where each treatment contained three replications. The results of this study indicate that HCG hormone injection with a dose of 300 IU/kg is not significantly different from HCG doses of 100 and 200 IU/kg (P>0.05), but significantly different from the treatment without HCG hormone injection or 0 IU/kg on the percentage of egg development with a diameter of ≥ 1 mm, the development of the egg maturity stage of the vitellogenic and the early FOM phase of female green catfish (P<0.05). Periodic HCG hormone injection is not significantly different in all treatments on the development of the final FOM phase egg maturity stage (P>0.05). The highest percentage of egg development with a diameter of ≥ 1 mm, the development of the vitellogenic and early FOM phase of egg maturity in green catfish were achieved by periodic injection of 300 IU/kg of HCG hormone.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of amino acid lysine supplementation to artificial feed on survival rate and growth of giant gourami fry (Osphronemus goramy), and to determine the optimal lysine dose for giant gourami fry. This study was carried out for 60 days. The experiment using the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The Treatment used 0%, 1%, 2%, and 3% lysine addition on artificial feed. The Results of this study show that the lysine addition on artificial feed significantly influence on absolute weight growth and specific growth rate (P<0.05), however not significantly influence on survival rate and total length growth of giant gourami fry (P>0.05). P3 (2% lysine) gave the highest average value on absolute weight growth (42,91 g), specific growth rate (3,80%/day), and total length growth (7,13 cm). The Water quality parameter values during this study still suitable to support the survival and growth gourami fry with 100% survival rate on each treatment. Abstract

The objectives of this experiment were to analyze the effect of the supplementation of amino acid lysine in artificial feed on the survival rate and growth of tinfoil barb (B. schwanenfeldii) and to determine the differences dose of amino acid lysine supplementation in artificial feed that can increase of the survival rate and growth of tinfoil barb (B. schwanenfeldii). The method used in the research were experimental method by adding lysine to artificial feed with different doses, namely P1 (0%), P2 (3%), P3 (6%), P4 (9%) per weight of feed. Feeding to fish were done ad satiation every day. The experimental design used in this study was a complete randomized design consisting of four treatments and three replicates. The results showed that the addition of lysine to artificial feed had no significant effect on survival rate, total length growth (P>0.05) but absolute weight growth and daily growth rate gave a significantly different effect (P<0.05). The observation results during the study showed the highest values total length growth P3 (6%) 3.00 cm, absolute weight growth P3 (6%) 18.75 g, and daily growth rate P3 (6%) 0.31 g/day.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of astaxanthin that added to rebon flour feed on the color quality and performance of koi fish fry and to determine the appropriate dose of astaxanthin addition to the feed. This experiment used a completely randomized design (CRD), consisted of four treatments and three replications. The treatments was the addition of astaxanthin in the rebon flour feed. Each treatments added astaxanthin 0%, 0.1%, 0.3%, 0.5%. Fish color in each treatment was observed using a modified Tocca Color Finder (TCF) and Adobe Photoshop software. The results of this study indicate that the addition of astaxanthin to the rebon flour feed gave a significantly different effect on to color level based on TCF and red color dimensions (P<0,05). However, there was not a significantly different on to survival rate and growth rate. The results of this study also showed that the addition of 0.1% astaxanthin gave the best color for koi fish fry.

Abstract

Ikan jelawat merupakan salah satu komoditas ikan lokal air tawar yang memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi, namun ketersediannya di alam semakin menurun. Protein adalah unsur kunci yang diperlukan untuk pertumbuhan dan kesehatan pada seluruh jenis ikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pakan komersil dengan kadar pakan protein berbeda dan menentukan kadar protein yang tepat untuk kelangsungan hidup dan pertumbuhan benih ikan jelawat (Leptobarbus hoevenii). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen pemberian pakan komersil dengan kadar protein berbeda yaitu P18-20, P29, P35, dan  P40. Rancangan percobaan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari empat perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Parameter yang diamati meliputi kelangsungan hidup, pertumbuhan panjang total, pertumbuhan berat mutlak, laju pertumbuhan spesifik, efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan, dan rasio konversi pakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemberian pakan komersil dengan kadar protein berbeda tidak memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata terhadap kelangsungan hidup (P>0,05). Namun memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata terhadap pertumbuhan panjang total, pertumbuhan berat mutlak, laju pertumbuhan spesifik, rasio konversi pakan, dan efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan (P<0,05). Pertumbuhan panjang total P35 2,47 cm, pertumbuhan berat mutlak P35 6,69 g, laju pertumbuhan spesifik P35 1,57%, efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan P35 68,99% dan rasio konversi pakan P35 1,46 menunjukan nilai terbaik[KH1] . Perlakuan terbaik ditemukan pada pakan P35 menggunakan pakan merek FF–999 produksi PT. Central Proteina Prima dengan kadar protein 35% dilihat dari pertumbuhan panjang total, pertumbuhan berat mutlak, laju pertumbuhan spesifik, dan efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan tertinggi serta rasio konversi pakan terendah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini difokuskan untuk mengevaluasi dampak suplementasi betaine pada pakan buatan terhadap performa biologis benih ikan kapiat (Barbonymus schwanenfeldii), meliputi tingkat kelangsungan hidup, laju pertumbuhan, serta efisiensi pakan, sekaligus menentukan dosis yang paling efektif. Riset berlangsung selama 30 hari di Laboratorium Kolam Percobaan Fakultas Perikanan dan Ilmu Kelautan, Universitas Mulawarman, menggunakan metode eksperimen Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan empat variasi perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Variasi dosis betaine yang diuji meliputi 0%, 1%, 2%, dan 3% dari total berat pakan. Temuan riset memperlihatkan bahwa suplementasi betaine dalam berbagai konsentrasi tidak memberikan dampak signifikan secara statistik (P>0.05) terhadap parameter kelangsungan hidup maupun pertumbuhan ikan. Meski demikian, perlakuan dengan dosis betaine 2% mencatatkan tren positif tertinggi pada aspek panjang total, berat mutlak, laju pertumbuhan spesifik, dan efisiensi pakan. Tingkat kelangsungan hidup mencapai 100% pada seluruh perlakuan, mengindikasikan bahwa betaine aman dan tidak berdampak negatif pada viabilitas ikan kapiat mutlak, laju pertumbuhan harian, dan efesiensi pakan tertinggi. Tingkat sintasan benih ikan kapiat mencapai 100% pada seluruh perlakuan, yang mengindikasikan bahwa penambahan betaine ke dalam ransum ternyata tidak menghasilkan perbedaan nyata pada angka kelangsungan hidup subjek penelitian.This research aimed to evaluate the impact of betaine supplementation in artificial feed on the biological performance of tinfoil barb (Barbonymus schwanenfeldii) fingerlings, specifically focusing on survival rate, growth rate, and feed efficiency, while also determining the most effective dosage. The research was conducted for 30 days at the Experimental Pond Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Mulawarman University, utilizing a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications. The tested betaine dosages included 0%, 1%, 2%, and 3% of the total feed weight. The findings indicated that betaine supplementation at various concentrations did not have a statistically significant effect (P>0.05) on the survival or growth parameters of the fish. However, the treatment with a 2% betaine dosage recorded the highest positive trend in terms of total length, absolute weight, daily growth rate, and feed efficiency. The survival rate reached 100% across all treatments, suggesting that the addition of betaine to the diet did not result in a significant difference in the survival rate of the research subjects.
