Abstract

Jagung merupakan tanaman komoditas masyarakat Gorontalo. Di beberapa tempat jagung dimanfaatkan sebagai makanan pokok dan bahan tambahan makanan ternak unggas dan ruminansia. Pengolahan jagung sebelum dimanfaatkan umumnya digiling secara manual. Hal ini tentu memerlukan tenaga dan waktu yang besar. Oleh karena itu perlu adanya teknologi sebagai solusi permasalahan tersebut. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan merancang mesin penggiling jagung dengan harapan agar lebih efisien, menghemat waktu dan tenaga. Mesin ini dirancang dengan kombinasi sistem mekanik manual dan menggunakan motor penggerak. Proses perancangan mesin ini dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan. Pertama desain gambar dan penjelasan pada setiap komponen. Tahap keddua adalah penyediaan alat dan bahan yang digunakan. Tahap ketiga, fabrikasi dan pembuatan mesin penggiling jagung. Tahap keempat, uji fungsi dan perbaikan. Tahap akhir adalah penerapan mesin penggiling jagung dan pengambilan data. Mesin ini memiliki rangka yang terbuat dari besi siku 49mmx33mmx3mm. Tenaga penggerak pada mesin ini dirancang dalam dua metode, yaitu manual dan menggunakan motor penggerak. Sistem penggerak pada mesin ini meliputi puli, V-belt, poros, bantalan, pasak, dan pisau penggiling. Adapun jenis motor yang digunakan adalah motor bensin 5.5 PK dengan putarn 2800 RPM. Sedangkan poros penggiling pada mesin ini memiliki diameter 50.8 mm. Mesin penggiling menggunakan motor penggerak memiliki kapasitas produksi yang lebih besar dibandingkan menggunakan manual. Kapasitas produksi menggunakan sistem manual dan motor penggerak masing-masing sebesar 18.69 kg/jam dan 38.46 kg/jam. Hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan motor penggerak dapat meningkatkan kapasitas produksi hingga 105.78%.

Abstract

Bawang merah merupakan salah satu produk pertanian yang banyak penggunaannya, terutama sebagai bumbu dapur dan bahan tambahan pada berbagai jenis makanan. Pengolahan bawang merah umumnya diiris atau diulek. Sebagai bumbu dapur, proses ini tentu tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap efektifitas dan efisiensi saat pengolahannya. Namun, akan berbeda jika bawang merah diproduksi dalam jumlah besar seperti pembuatan bawang goreng. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan teknologi yang dapat mendukung sekaligus sebagai solusi untuk meningkatkan produktivitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengoptimalkan mesin pengiris dan penggiling bawang merah dengan menggunakan dua sistem kerja, manual dan otomatis. Optimalisasi mesin ini difokuskan pada pisau pengiris dan penggiling melalui modifikasi mesin sebelumnya. Perancangan dan fabrikasi mesin dilakukan melalui tahapan desain, penyediaan alat dan bahan, pembuatan komponen, fabrikasi komponen, dan pengujian alat. Mesin pengiris dan penggiling bawang merah memiliki beberapa komponen utama, yaitu corong input bawang merah, sistem transmisi pengiris dan penggiling, dan corong output. Mesin ini menggunakan motor listrik ¼ HP. Mesin pengiris dan penggiling bawang merah memiliki tinggi dan lebar masing-masing 500 mm dan 250 mm. Pengujian mesin dilakukan sebanyak 3 kali dengan kecepatan putar dan berat bawang merah masing-masing 2800 rpm dan 300 gr untuk proses pengirisan. Adapun berat bawang merah untuk proses penggilingan sebanyak 200 gr. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian diketahui proses pengirisan dan penggilingan bawang merah masing-masing memerlukan waktu rata-rata 48,1 detik dan 47,42 detik. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa berat bawang merah berbanding lurus dengan waktu yang digunakan selama pemrosesan. Kapasitas rata-rata mesin untuk proses pengirisan dan penggilingan masing-masing sebesar 22,45 kg/jam dan 15,18 kg/jam.

Abstract

The training on the production of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) conducted in Rumah Tiga Village, Teluk Ambon District, Ambon City, aimed to enhance farmers' capacity in implementing environmentally friendly and sustainable agricultural practices. The program engaged six farmer groups and adopted a participatory approach that integrated theoretical instruction with hands-on practice. Farmers were trained to produce LOF using locally available organic materials such as banana stems and household kitchen waste. The training resulted in a significant improvement in participants’ knowledge and skills, with 90% of trainees able to accurately recall the LOF production procedures. Furthermore, 82% of participants expressed a strong commitment to independently adopt LOF in their farming activities. The program also contributed to strengthening social capital by increasing participation in communal activities (gotong royong) and encouraging the formation of informal learning groups. These findings indicate that participatory, practice-based training models are effective in fostering behavioral change among farmers toward sustainable agriculture and can be replicated in other regions as a strategic approach to empowering farming communities.

Abstract

Social changes resulting from the development of digital technology have led to a shift in traditional social values among the younger generation, particularly the value of gotong royong (mutual cooperation), which is a distinctive characteristic of Indonesian society. This study aims to empower rural youth through podcast media as a means of revitalizing local wisdom values in the era of social media. The method used is a participatory approach involving training, mentoring, and the production of digital content based on local wisdom. The results of the community engagement program show that podcasts can be an effective medium for disseminating the value of gotong royong, enhancing digital literacy, and revitalizing social awareness among the younger generation.

Abstract

The hybrid boiler simulator is a simulation machine designed with two working functions, namely as a medical waste processing function and as a drying cabinet function. As a medical waste processor, this machine will focus on plastic medical waste, and as a dryer function, this machine will be a clothes-drying tool or cabinet. So based on the multifunctionality of the machine, this system has hybrid working characteristics. Hybrid boiler simulators can be a solution, providing the function of processing plastic medical waste and providing the advantageous function of economical and environmentally friendly drying. Therefore, this research aims to create a hybrid boiler simulator that can be used as a plastic medical waste processing machine and also as a clothes drying machine. The hybrid boiler system is designed by applying the concept of appropriate technology so that its implementation can be done easily and practically. The research implementation method is a classification of plastic medical waste, concept design, and analysis, construction design of a hybrid boiler system combined with an incinerator for burning medical waste, system function testing, and observation of test data. The focus of his research is the heat of burning plastic waste, heat radiation, circulators, and flow control systems as well as the characteristics of the results of burning plastic waste. The results of this research are that the hybrid boiler simulator machine can function as an incinerator machine to burn plastic medical waste and function as a clothes dryer; The function of the incinerator in this machine is only through two processes, namely the process of burning plastic medical waste raw materials and the process of burning carbon gas or smoke produced from the process of burning raw materials; the sumulator machine is not yet equipped with a fogging process for the function of smoke cleaning filter and fogging control; the hybrid boiler simulator machine works on the principle of automatic control based on temperature detection using a temperature sensor; The combustion temperature in the boiler machine can be controlled at a standard of 830 °C and the drying room temperature can be set at a room temperature of 50 – 150 °C.

Abstract

The development of the creative economy in Indonesia shows great potential as a driver of national economic growth rooted in local culture and creativity. However, many micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are still unable to develop strong and sustainable branding strategies. This article discusses efforts to strengthen the creative economy through local product branding that highlights folklore and regional culture as the foundation of identity. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and literature studies. The findings indicate that integrating local cultural elements with modern marketing strategies can generate economic added value while also strengthening cultural preservation. In conclusion, folklore-based branding is not only a business strategy but also a form of cultural diplomacy that enhances the position of local products in the global market.
